Captains: Private Bath , Parking , Walk to town

We are unable to host service or therapy animals due to health reasons .

Captains Quarters is a private suite with a comfy king size bed and private bathroom. There is a two day minimum except for folk and jazz festival which is a three night minimum. We will offer a one night minimum if that is all that is available upon request. We will consider a 2 day minimum during music festivals if that is all that is available.

We offer off street parking .

Check in is at 4 pm and check out is 11 am. Times are flexible but please contact us to see if possible and a fee might be added for early check in or late check

We are located in the center of historic Newport , a short walk to downtown, a two minute walk to the historic Broadway ( where the locals hang out) , the Newport Harbor( take a sailboat or motor boat excursion) , restaurants (including the White Horse Tavern,one of the oldest operating taverns in the U.S.) as well as trolleys to the mansions , the Tennis Hall of Fame , the Folk and Jazz Festivals .

It is a private suite with its own private bathroom and kitchenette (microwave fridge, Keurig coffee machine (including free coffee and snacks), wine glasses etc . Free WIFI. For larger parties, check with owners for availability our other suite. We are a family home . We live on the premises . There are stairs and potential for typical family noise .

Callender House is a Colonial house circa 1870

The Captain’s Quarters was clean and comfortable. It was in a great location, easy walk to a lot of restaurants. The owners were easy to communicate with and very helpful. They even provided beach chairs, which we needed.

Our stay at the callendar house was excellent. Fantastic location that is convenient to all Newport has to offer but quiet too; with very easy parking. The room was modern, clean, comfortable and the kitchenette exceeded our expectations. Plenty of towels and super soft bed sheets. They even had umbrellas to use for a rainy day. Owners were very responsive as needed. Highly recommend.

The room was very clean, nicely decorated, and very well stocked with amenities. Very well situated, within walking distance to all that Thames St has to offer. The owner was very friendly and the check in/ checkout process simple. We would certainly go back as Newport has so much to offer.

Highly recommend for a quick stay

Spent one night in Newport- this room was perfect! The bed was sooo comfy. Easy 10 min walk or $7 uber ride away from downtown. Would absolutely stay here again.

Excellent Stay - Perfect Location

Great, quaint, charming, nautical-themed place. Place was completely updated, super clean and an short walk to Broadway and downtown Newport. Hosts were super responsive and accommodating. Great booking.

Fantastic location and great set up

Visited Newport for a few days. This property was fantastically located. Thanks Street and all the shops/restaurants were within about a 15 minute walk so we didn't have to deal with the difficult parking. A 10 minute walk also got you to the transportation center where you could hop on the free trolley that took you down to the mansions.
