Great comfortable well appointed home with a lovely pool. Ideal for a small family.
The house is clearly well loved and cared for by its owners, not one of those holiday lets done on the cheap. It was very clean and all the furniture and fittings were of a high quality. The rooms are big by British standards and the master bed was enormous. The pool is also a great bonus, as it does not use chlorine there isn’t that smell (and it is also much kinder to your hair.) Another plus is the WiFi and huge tv with also has Netflix. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and we were met at the property by their friend and neighbor who is on hand if you need anything.
The street is very quiet and quiant but there are a few nice bars and restaurants a few blocks away within easy walking distance. The Main Street in Gulfport has street markets some days also. The beaches of Fort De Soto country park are outstanding and a short car drive away. (We visited the fishing pier and saw both dolphins and manatees come right up under our feet.) We had a fantastic holiday in their very comfortable home and will be back.
Just came back from this great rental in Gulfport. The owners were very accommodating, trusting and responsive. They have set up this house beautifully. We loved everything about it. The house is elegantly but practically decorated, the bed is comfy and the pool is nice and private. We enjoyed it so much that we didn’t even went out once for dinner!
Our old dog was relaxed and safe with the fenced backyard.
It is a safe and cute neighborhood.
We loved the proximity of the little park by the house to walk him.
The Gulfport Casino swing dance night, every Wednesday, was a hit where we danced the night away!
Our house “greeter” (Sue) was sweet and welcoming and showed us around at our arrival.
We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back for another visit.
Thank you, Lysa and Don, for sharing your house with us and thank you for accepting well behaved 🐶 dogs! It meant the world to us.💜
5 STAR ALL THE WAY & PET FRIENDLY
My husband and I spent 2 weeks here May 27- June 10, 2018. We absolutely loved the little quaint, bohemian town of Gulfport and the Craftsman Cottage was perfect! The house was so warm and inviting after our 4 day drive from Ontario, Canada. The house was even more beautiful than the pictures. The house was tastefully decorated, the master bedroom was absolutely beautiful and the bed & duvet were so comfortable for sleeping. We spent every morning drinking our coffee on the front veranda in the wicker chairs, The pool was a huge added bonus in the hot, sweltering sun. The location was great as it was within walking distance of the restaurants, shops and waterfront. Downtown St Petersburg was only a 15 minute drive away as well. It was very beneficial to have a washer and dryer to use during our time there. TV had cable and Netflix available as well. Lysa and Don were always only a phone call or email away for the many questions that we had.
Beautiful home and excellent location. Highly recommend. Loved that we were able to bring our dog with us.
Ahh, Denyse, thanks so much for your kind words. We value guests like you both very highly. Be well, be happy & be back☺️
Home away from home
This house has it all! Comfy beds, beautiful decor, fully stocked kitchen, relaxing pool, and a short walk to the beach and shops. We loved it so much we’ve already booked our next visit.
Awww, thanks so much, Christina!
Great location! The house is lovely and had everything we needed. The pool was wonderful. We're sad to go.
Another great visit to Gulfport
Our third visit, and the cottage didn't disappoint. The owners, Lysa and Don, were friendly and helpful as ever. Gulfport makes a great base to explore the attractions of the surrounding Tampa Bay and St Peterburg area.
Gulfport is a quaint beach community only 2.5 sq. miles in area. We are bordered by St. Pete beach on the west and St. Pete downtown on our east. St. Peterburg has numerous museums, including the largest collection of Salvador Dali in the world. Our little town has a lovely beach on Boca Ceiga Bay with two fishing piers, a playground, volleyball & basketball courts. The historic Gulfport Casino offers numerous dance lessons, dances, and performances. There are many restaurants along our beach front offering live entertainment, plus boutiques, galleries, and restaurants all within 3 blocks of our home. There are two small groceries within walking distance, several churches, the library, and the Gulfport Historical Museum. Gulfport Marina and Boca Ciega Yacht Club, plus two waterfront nature parks are a 10 min. walk. There is bus service within 2 blocks to both downtown St. Pete and St. Pete beaches, plus any major shopping areas. You are staying in a small beach enclave, home to many artists, with quiet brick streets where everyone walks or rides a bike, yet minutes away by car or bus to cultural and entertainment venues. 35 mins. to either Tampa or Sarasota, which offer additional entertainment options.
