Welcome to Paradise!
A love at first sight purchase that will surely make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. This beautiful house is situated in the heart of the lower Laurentians, nestled in between two lakes, on the shore of the river that flows between them.
Imagine yourself sitting in front of the roaring fireplace, listening to the sound of the flowing river and the birds nesting in the trees of the wooded property. Or how about a lazy day at the lakefront, dipping yourself into the pristine water when the summer sun works its magic on your skin? Equally rewarding is a day of snowshoeing or cross country skiiing on the frozen lake or surrounding woods, topped off with a glass of wine in the jacuzzi tub built for two.
The house is just as charming as its surrounding property, if not more. A true log cabin with all the comforts of a spacious house. Built on three levels, the upper floor is devoted to the master bedroom with its en suite bathroom, including separate shower and jacuzzi tub. The main level boasts a huge open living room, which contains more windows than walls, and when you're ready for a view other than the surrounding woods, just pull down the screen, fire up the projector system, and enjoy 100 inches of HD (3D even) quality video that will make you feel like you're in the theater. Satellite cable included.
Additionally, there is a fully-equipped, charming kitchen with red ceramic tiling and a dinning room perfect for a meal à six, or eight, or decide. On this floor, you will also find a second bathroom with a claw-foot bathtub aligning the lovely round logs of the outer wall.
The lower level contains an additional three bedrooms, one which also functions as a den (equipped with television and apple TV). The laundry room and a third bathroom, equipped with sink, toilet and shower are also located on this floor.
The house is light, airy, peaceful and spacious. There is ample room for cooking, relaxing, playing, eating or even dancing if you should happen to feel so inspired. You'll find everything you need, including fridge, stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave, barbeque, cooking utensils, sheets, towels and the like. There are also several games and movies for your enjoyment (the bean bag toss is quickly becoming a favorite among guests). Come empty handed and take advantage of all the amenities, hand-picked with love.
Ideal for families, gaggles of girls, romantic couple-y getaways, groups of guys who want beers, bbq-s and fire pits. Perfect for anybody really! Come once, you'll be charmed enough to come back again and again and again. I promise.
Available for short or long term stays.
Please Note- There are two cats living here, usually full-time throughout spring-fall. If you are looking to book during this time, I will most likely ask if you are ok with them being here during your stay. As you can see by the reviews, they are lovely little creatures, are super independent, and spend most of their time outdoors. All you have to do is fill their bowls once a day. If you are adverse to the idea, it is negotiable.

About Brandee Diner
Hello to all, I am a half urban-half country girl living 6 months per year in the lovely, lively city of Montreal and the other 6 months in the calm, serene, cottage environment of the Laurentian mountains where I work as a wildlife biologist. When not working, i spend as much time as I can traveling, and have recently moved from doing it hotel style to doing it house rental style. I am just as happy to rent out my home to travelers as I am to borrow someone else's homey space while I am away. My ideal guests are respectful, responsible, easy-going people who want to enjoy the chill surroundings and country air of the beautiful lower Laurentians, while feeling like they are 'at home'.
Brandee Diner purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2013
Why Brandee Diner chose Lachute
It was love at first sight. Period.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
The year round flowing river right outside the front door is the most peaceful sound you can imagine. The three balconies, strategically placed to make you feel like you are sitting in a tree house. The living room that has more windows than walls.

Fine Time Had By ALL!! 4 couples from Connecticut!!!
I give the 5 day stay a SOLID 5 STARS!!! House was perfect for us and the only negative thing about the weekend was the Patriots LOST!!! But Brandee had no control of that! Love the TV room and the fireplace. We spent most of our time in that room when we were home. Brandee was even there to welcome us after our 400 mile ride. A tip - if you are watching the satellite TV and the receiver loses signal - make sure the dish is not covered by snow. We got about 8 to 10 inches of snow the day of the Super Bowl and good thing one of the guys was smart enough to brush the snow off.
Thanks Brandee - It was a blast.

Country home in Quebec
We were traveling through to Montreal and Toronto from NYC so we decided to rent a place out in the country and we're glad to find this cabin in Brownsburg. It is just peaceful as the place is surrounded by trees (lots of caterpillars at this time of the year). The house is well equipped with everything you need to make it a home away from home. The kitchen is well stocked. The kids love to play cards and games in the family room as they can make noises without bothering the adults when the double doors are closed. We spend a day in Montreal, then came to this home to relax. We enjoyed the company of 2 cats (Trucker is friendly, and Relish is rarely seen). We were a bit nervous since some of the children have allergies to cats, but they didn't have any problem at all. The place is about an hour and 15 minutes from downtown Montreal - an easy drive. We would definitely book this place again if we travel to Montreal again.
Absolutely perfect! Just the right touch of charm and luxury!
We had a great family vacation, we were a big group of 5 adults + 4 kids with plenty of room and comfortable beds for all. Even though we had rain for 3 days we still managed to have a blast! Movie nights, where the kids compared it to going to the movies in a comfy living room and a few dance parties that we all enjoyed. The lake that is near by is really clear and clean and we enjoyed it both rain and shine! The views are beautiful, you are surrounded by trees and the peaceful sound of the stream that runs in the back.
Plus tons of games and pretty much anything you can think of you would want for a cottage stay, we kept discovering things like badminton rackets!
Brandee has taken the time to put all the right touches and was very helpful and genuine!
Would recommend la maisonBleu to anyone.
Our weekend was amazing. Its a really nice house with an an incredeble view. Nature is always a good solution to disconnect a little. Thank you Brandee
AMAZING country cottge
I recommend this property to everyone who enjoys the country style living, the pictures do not do this place justice, the 3 balconys and fresh air made the outside view so enjoyable. The house is packed with absolutely everything you need, all instructions were super clear and the projector was a huge bonus for movie night.
Brandee was super nice to meet us there and show us around. I will definitely be back soon.
