We loved our stay here! My kids and I really enjoyed just imagining all the history of the place and those who lived there (like imagining how they lived back then with no ac). It was just minutes walk from the beach and some of the most delicious restaurants we've had in a while. We stayed for the 4th of July weekend specifically to watch the fireworks at the beach and it was the perfect spot. Would book again!

Beautiful house! Very close to Parris island for families looking for a great place to stay when your Marine graduates! I have already recommended it to families that have upcoming graduations. It really is a beautiful home and we enjoyed it very much

The home is in a great location. It has a lot of historical charm, a beautiful huge oak w spanish moss in the yard, and a covered front porch and upper balcony. Check-in was simple, a code for the lock box on the front door.

The house was dirty and had an odor. The host was clearly aware as evidenced by the dollar store air fresheners in every room. The living room furniture was stained. Pillows on the beds were visibly stained. Every night stand, end table, and surface were covered in dust and grime. Floors, baseboards, stairs and window all dirty. I rented the house for family that was visiting but could not allow them to stay there. I followed the instructions to report any problems within 24 hours but they refused to refund the full cost. The property manager said that she had visited a week prior and found no problems. Both she and the realtor who manage the property should be ashamed. Do not rent without reading all of the reviews!! There are complaints going back years citing odor and even bugs. In each case the property manager, Tina, replies blaming all of the issues on the renters. I'm sure she will try to do the same to this review. There was no quick fix to the condition of this property. The house had not been cleaned properly in a LONG time. Do not think that I am overreacting because the house is old. I prefer older homes with character. No rental should have dirty linens.

Perfect distance to Parris Island, clean and comfortable. It's like a time capsule, would definitely stay again.

Fun and relaxing

Had a great time. Took the family to the beach and a little fishing and great food. The house was great and had everything we needed for a great stay.

Amazing Port Royal Experience

We had an amazing time staying in this house. It was perfect for our family and we greatly appreciated allowing us to bring our diabetic dog with us. We would recommend and come back again!

Great Experience

Property was as listed. Great Stay. Loved the convenience and location. I do think the place would be a little warm in the summer months; but found everything else to be great! It was a wonderful place to stay in a great little community.

Beautiful house

We enjoyed our stay. If you are interested in history this is the house for you, and most of the furniture is era correct. The host communicates very well, which is a huge bonus. The home is extremely clean.

Like grandma’s house

Cute, clean house in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed walking to restaurants and the park. Property owner was great. The bathroom has a cute claw-foot tub with a shower.

This house was adorable! We enjoyed it thoroughly. I really appreciated the original architecture such as the flooring. And the claw foot tub was charming. Highly recommend it!

Guys weekend trip

We stayed two nights in this stunning and seemingly turn of the century home with modern upgrades (without losing its historical charm). The location cannot be beat. There was also plenty of extra bedding and towels, which is always appreciated in my book. All of this and more for a very reasonable price.

Charming historic home in the heart of Port Royal

We came for a family wedding in Beaufort and had an amazing weekend at this charming, historic home. We appreciate older homes so we felt right at home here and enjoyed the quiet, friendly neighborhood and the location - a short walk to great restaurants, coffee shops and the beach. Though it’s older it had everything we needed. We would recommend this home and would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Lowcountry Home

We really enjoyed our stay - Port royal was a great destination for our long weekend stay. Although our teens called the house gramma’s, we thought it was an excellent historic house and very much loved the 2nd story porch, walks to the water and cypress gardens. Thank you! I hope we can come back again.

We have stayed in numerous locations in the Beaufort area. Many of them are also historic locations, but this place was a disappointment. It smelled like cat urine. I was in town for a job interview and there was no hairdryer or iron/ironing board. The location is great, but overall was a disappointment.

Everything worked in the house as it should. There's an issue with cleanliness that I let the property manager know about. The upstairs bathroom has an old clawfoot tub with a shower curtain around each side and it's a little difficult to navigate when taking a shower. All of the antique furniture is a plus if you like that sort of thing.
