Emma met us when we got to the property. She was very kind and helpful. It is located in the older part of town. There are a lot of steps but the view is absolutely amazing.

Wonderful Stay in Old Lyon!

We had a fantastic time in this beautiful home. It’s in a perfect location; very walkable to so much that Lyon has to offer. It was very comfortable for our party - two adults our three kids (ages 15, 15, and 10). (Do note there is walking up hills or stairs, so may be a bit difficult for someone with mobility challenges). We absolutely loved our stay, and can’t recommend this home enough. Thank you!

Middle Ages meets Mid-Century Modern

If you want an unparalleled view over the rooftops of Vieux Lyon, admire original terra cotta floors, wooden beams and plaster walls, consider this listing! It is very old with it’s peculiarities- both W/Cs are on the main level; one outside the main bedroom and the other off the kitchen. The second main bedroom, a large family bath/ shower room and a great kids’ area/playroom/bedroom are on the lower level. There is no toilet on the lower level. The furnishings are eclectic- ranging from mid-century modern light fixtures to the wash basin in the second toilet which my husband and I could not agree if it was a sink or not. The fridge, induction stove/ oven and dishwasher are modern. Emmanuelle is a lovely lady who was very approachable and freely offered her help and recommendations. This is clearly a well loved family home, a little long in the tooth, with little quirks - but it is not for those who demand a sterile domicile! Merci, Emma!

Tolle Lage, leider schlechter Zustand des Appartements

Die Wohnung hat eine tolle Lage mitten in der Altstadt mit einer schönen Aussicht und viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Aber auch wenn man Abstriche am Standard in einem solchen Altbau machen muss, war der Zustand der Wohnung schlecht und der Garten ungepflegt. Zahlreiche Bodenfliesen waren zerbrochen und lose und der Boden so uneben, dass es viele Stolperstellen gab. In der Küche waren weder Backofen, Toaster, Kaffeemaschine oder die Spülmaschine ordentlich gesäubert. Das größte Problem aber waren die fehlenden Hinweise in der Beschreibung auf die schwierige Erreichbarkeit der Wohnung. Der lapidare Hinweis auf eine Treppe, die schwierig für Mobilitätseingeschränkte sein könnte, ist irreführend. Zur unteren Straße sind es 142 Stufen, die teilweise sehr steil und an den Kanten abgebrochen waren. Zur oberen Straße waren es zwar nur etwa 20 Stufen, die aber sehr steil, eng, ausgetreten und ohne Geländer waren. Auch als fitte 60-jährige Frau konnte ich da ohne Hilfe keinen Koffer rauf bzw. runter transportieren. Gott sei Dank hatten wir nette Taxifahrer. Für ältere Menschen, die nicht mehr so sicher auf den Beinen sind, aber auch für Familien mit Kinderwagen ist diese Wohnung nicht geeignet und das sollte man dann auch in der Beschreibung so sagen.

Maison pleine de charme dans le vieux Lyon .

Nous avons passé un grand week-end à Lyon dans la maison d'Emmanuelle qui nous a réservé le meilleur accueil . Sa maison est idéalement bien située : les différents quartiers de Lyon sont accessibles à pied ou en transport en commun . D'autre part , le parking et le jardin avec une vue magnifique sont rares je pense dans ce quartier de Lyon . En résumé , je recommande vivement cette location .

Unique and wonderful

Our family had a wonderful time at Emma's unique apartment in Old Lyon. We greatly enjoyed the beautiful view, relaxed accommodation and wonderful garden. The apartment was spacious, clean and well-stocked. The beds were very comfortable. Emma was very easy to contact and gave us wonderful suggestions for restaurants and local attractions. As other reviewers have noted, the stairs can be a challenge, but this apartment is worth the climb!

Lovely home with amazing views in historic Lyon

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Emmanuelle's home. The home has a lovely living room with amazing views, full kitchen, three large bedrooms, a garden/terrace that was in bloom and offered the best breath taking views. There are 8 flights of stairs or a large hill to climb to get to the home, but it is well worth it. The home is located on the Montee de Gourguillon and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk to the ancient Theater of Fourviere and admire the views atop the city. So much history close by to absorb! Emma was a very gracious host and we hope to come back again someday.

Calme et vue imprenable sur Lyon

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour dans la maison d'Emmanuelle. La vue imprenable sur Lyon a rendu le séjour un peu magique. En revanche ne convient pas pour les personnes a mobilités réduites du fait des difficultés d'accès caractéristiques du Vieux Lyon. Je recommande ++

Great value and a beautiful place

This is quite a unique property and we really enjoyed staying in a historical area of Lyon. The house was clean and as listed and the view is priceless! Def be aware there are many stairs which might be an issue for less mobile folks, but if you're adventurous and willing to sweat a little bit this is a great spot to stay.

appartement spacieux, ameublement hétéroclite , pas du tout de placards pour les hôtes, propreté plus que douteuse, mais un petit jardin ,rarissime en plein Lyon, avec une vue époustouflante sur toute la ville , où nous avons passé notre temps, grâce à la météo plus que clémente. L’accès est sportif, escalier extérieur abrupt, à déconseiller par mauvais temps! Mais malgré tous ses défauts , nous avons apprécié ce séjour, pour son calme , sa situation , son panorama , et nos petits déjeuners dans le jardin.

Super dejlig beliggenhed i den gamle bydel - det er bare ned af trapperne (i mange kringlede gange og trin) så er man lige i den mest spændende bydel i Lyon - med masser af liv, cafèer mm. samt det meste indenfor gåafstand i Vieux Lyon og i den lidt yngre bydel mellem Saone og Rhone floderne.

Beautiful apartment, great location in Vieux Lyon

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. The location was perfect for our family - there is easy metro access and great walkability. Emma was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable during our stay.

Une vue exceptionnelle sur Lyon ! Très bon emplacement !

L'appartement lumineux et confortable est très bien situé dans Lyon et permet de visiter la ville à pied. Le métro en bas de la rue permet un accès à la gare Part Dieu rapide. Accueil chaleureux de Paul à notre arrivée ! De même pour Emmanuelle qui a accepté de garder nos bagages à l'appartement jusqu'au soir malgré l'arrivée de nouveaux locataires! Très appréciable ! Pour nous 5, ce fut donc un joli séjour à Lyon !

Nous étions un groupe de 9 filles pour venir passer un week end sans mari et enfants entre nous. L appartement est superbe, tres lumineux. Déco sympa. On s'est cru chez nous tout de suite. La vue est magnifique. Le petit jardin tres agreable. Emmanuelle a été disponible et fort sympathique. Nous la remercions.

Ruim en licht appartement met het gezellige karakter van Franse familiewoning. Alle voorzieningen aanwezig, ook voor kinderen. (iets te weinig plaats in de kasten voor eigen kleding bij langer verblijf). Hou wel rekening met het groot aantal trappen: het appartement maakt deel uit van een "Traboule" Uitzonderlijk goede ligging: in het hart van de oude stad, vlak bij metro en winkels met een uniek uitzicht op Lyon.

Fantastic view, Wonderful location

We had a wonderful week in Lyon with our adult children. This property is in a superb location, although you do need to be reasonable fit to manage the 140+ steps (which are part of a Traboules - so interesting in themselves). However it is worth it, because it is such a lovely setting. We hadn't expected the wonderful view we would have from the three large windows in the sitting room, which was a lovely surprise. It was beautiful both by day and night. It is well located (within a UNESCO world heritage site) close to lots of interesting sites, museums and next to the metro station. We were very well looked after by Helene, Emma's friend, who was very helpful. Many thanks

Fantastisk oplevelse

At bo den charmerede lejlighed med de mange trapper op gennem de gamle bygninger var den bedste oplevelse i Lyon. Haven og udsigten er ubeskrivelig. Kan klart anbefales til alle der prioritere charme over simpel komfort. God hjælp fra udlejer.

Un appartement trés bien situé dans la vielle ville, très agréable.

Nous etions un groupe de 9 personnes. Dans la vieul ville de Lyon nous avons trouver cet remarquable appartement. Assez de place pour nous tous, une grande table pour le repas, une terrasse avec une vue superbe.
