Aloha, and welcome to the virtual version of Lokelani C205, a vacation rental condo located on the beautiful West Maui coast. It's not the same as being there - hearing the ocean throughout your living space, seeing your 'morning whale' as you sip coffee on your lanai, or walking just a few feet outside to see honu (turtles) swimming and basking in the sun on your own stretch of beach. Regardless, we welcome you here as our guest just as we would be glad to welcome you into our Maui home.

Lokelani, which means “Beautiful Rose” in Hawaiian, is a West Maui vacation rental that truly lives up to its name. Snorkel with the turtles, watch whales & breathtaking Hawaiian sunsets from your two spacious lanais and fall asleep to the gentle sound of the Pacific in your oceanfront two bedroom town home-style condo.

Lokelani #C205 has been completely remodeled. It is a luxurious two bedroom/two bath unit with both the living room and master bedroom having direct ocean front lanais. This unit is a town home type unit with the kitchen, dining area, washer/dryer, full bath, living room and direct ocean front lanai downstairs. Upstairs you will find a full bath and both bedrooms. The master bedroom has its own direct ocean front lanai with panoramic views of the islands of Molokai and Lanai. A split air conditioning system with units in both bedrooms keeps you cool in the warmer months. Flat screen TV's and DVD players in living room and master bedroom entertain.

This unit is nicely equipped with everything except food and clothing. On the days you don't feel like dining out in one of the many great restaurants nearby, our kitchen has all the utensils, cookware, and dinnerware you'll need. You can watch the sunset while eating dinner out on the lanai, or if on the rarest of occasions the weather isn't perfect, there is also an inside dining table.

We are located just a few miles north of downtown Lahaina and historic Front Street. We are in a quiet residential neighborhood and we are off the main street to insure a peaceful stay. You will not want to leave our beautiful Maui home of Lokelani C205, but you'll definitely want to come back!

About Kevin Wilshere

As a host, we will do everything we can to make sure our guests have a fantastic stay in Maui. We do not believe that our responsibility ends there, however. It is a privilege to own a home, especially in such a beautiful area of Maui, and with that comes (or should come) the responsibility to be a good citizen of the community. Rather than being an 'absentee landlord,' we want to participate in and give back to our ohana - our Hawaiian family.

So, from time-to-time, we will be promoting worthy causes and local artists on our site. We've already established a link to an organization that we have supported for many years, the Pacific Whale Foundation, as well as to the Maui Food Bank in Wailuku. These organizations make a difference in our community through their many efforts to preserve our ocean environment and help those in need. Why Kevin Wilshere chose Lahaina

Maui is a special place. On our first visit many years ago, we immediately knew that we had found us a home. Maybe not a year-round home, but a place so welcoming that returning after an absence makes you feel as though you'd never left. Maybe it's the weather, or the ocean views, lush interior landscapes, snow-topped Haleakala (yes, snow), or abundant sea life. Or the people. Of course, it's all of those. And more.

The memories: grabbing onto the tentpoles of a roadside food stand outside Hana as a blast of wind threatened to take the the whole thing away, while puppies ran and yipped around our feet; running into and chatting with the artist Wyland in a book shop, and being invited to the Christmas party at his Lahaina gallery that same evening; cooking tuna on a grill as the sun slipped below the horizon while I drank the best glass of wine of my life…

Why did we want to own property in Maui? Why would you not.

P.S., and full disclosure: the photo above was from our first Hawaiian trip (number redacted) years and many trips ago. Be aware, once you've spent any time here, you will want to come back again, and again, and again...

What makes this condo unique

It is hard not to find a beautiful spot in Maui. We favor the west side - not that there is anything wrong with the south, Hana or any other Maui locale. Some of our favorites include Napili Bay, dining beachside in Kaanapali, playing golf in Kapalua, and wandering Front Street in Lahaina. We encourage you to go to all of these places, and many others.

There is something different about Lokelani, though. There are larger resorts - in fact, probably few are smaller than Lokelani. Many have multiple pools, workout rooms, salons and built-in restaurants. If that's what you're looking for, we can make some recommendations. But if you want to get away from it all, live like a local, then Lokelani may be your place. You can easily get to the beaches of Kaanapali and elsewhere for a visit, but afterward (and before) you can relax on your own secluded beach, or in the comfort of your oceanfront lanai. Maybe - just, maybe - it's as good elsewhere, but it doesn't get any better than this...

Helpful Maui Travel Tips:

Jan 2015 - Plastic grocery bags are banned on Maui. Stick a couple of your reusable totes in your suitcase - they don't take up any space, and they're also great for carrying toys and supplies down to the beach!

July 2015 - We have just completed a significant upgrade to both bedrooms! New beds, mattresses, dressers, window treatments and more! Pictures will be updated on this site shortly - come back and check out our new look!

January 2016 - By 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the world’s oceans, study says. I don't know if this study's prediction is correct, but I do know we can all do our part prevent this outcome. Please help keep our environment clean and marine life safe for future generations. Mahalo!

February 2016 - We keep a supply of various nonperishable condiments (salt, pepper, some oils and other spices, etc) in the condo for your use. We cannot guarantee exactly what will be there for your trip, but recommend you check out our supply before finalizing your island grocery list. Also, a mile north of us in the shopping plaza housing Maui Brewing Co, is a drop box for Maui Food Bank. You can drop off any non-perishable items you won't finish there and help Maui's hungry. Mahalo!

March 2016 - and speaking of grocery shopping, everyone does it after 5pm - locals coming off work as well as newly arrived visitors. If you want to avoid long grocery lines, leave your shopping to the morning after your arrival. You can stop at the ABC store near our location for a few essential beverages and other items... Of course, if you do end up in a line, just remember that you're on island time anyway! Enjoy the aloha!!

A 5 night deposit per unit is due at time of booking. Payment in full is due 30 days prior to arrival. All monies are forfeited if cancelled less than 30 days prior to the arrival date, unless the unit is re-rented.
