About Denise

My husband, Joe, and I are the homeowners. We have been in the construction business for over thirty years and have three rental properties. We located this cabin in 2011. The cabin was purchased and completely remodeled. We began renting it out during the Summer of 2012. This is the only property we use as our second home and we stay there as often as possible. We love Pagosa Springs and the surrounding Mountains.

Denise purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Denise chose Southwest

Finding Pagosa & the San Juan National Forest is like finding paradise. Its wild, natural location takes you back in time to a slow paced life of simple pleasures and awesome experiences. The surrounding wilderness adds to the breathtaking beauty that captures your spirit when you arrive. The town is filled with specialty shops, restaurants, and outdoor activities, and you're just minutes away from millions of acres of natural forest and wilderness area.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin has new major & minor appliances, new bathrooms, and new vinyl windows. It has new couches, new beds and bedding, and high-quality protective covers for the mattresses and pillows. The cabin stays comfy and cozy all year. It has baseboard electric heaters in every room, but the gas fireplace in the living room alone will keep the entire cabin warm in the sub-zero winter cold. All three bedrooms are connected to a bathroom which makes for convenient access.

Unlike many of the other rental properties in Pagosa Springs, this cabin is located in a quiet, peaceful area with no highway noise. The neighborhood is safe and relaxing.

The cabin is approximately 7,500 feet in elevation on a small hill near Lake Pagosa and is less than 5 minutes from everything in Pagosa Springs. There is a carport to keep snow, ice, and rain off your vehicle and belongings. There also is an enclosed back yard with a privacy fence for sunning, picnicking, and BBQs. The second story back deck balcony is a great place to sit and drink your morning beverage even if it's raining or snowing. The covered front porch makes it possible to get into or out of the cabin with ease while staying out of the weather and, of course, it has the classic front porch swing. There are tall Ponderosa Pine and young Blue Spruce surrounding the property. The cabin is our second home so it is fully stocked with everything you need (except for food, clothing, and personal necessities).

Our Stay at Little Rabbit Cabin in Pagosa Springs, CO.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin Sat. thru Thurs. for a ski vacation for my family of four. The cabin is extremely comfortable and well decorated. The kitchen is so well stocked with all utensils, spices, dishes, or anything else you could possibly need to cook and serve with. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. Even had the Christmas tree still up which added to the Holiday atmosphere a little more. Unfortunately my wife and one son did not take to the altitude very well and stayed home from skiing one day. But, my wife said that staying at the cabin all day really made her trip, as she sat on the rocking love seat in front of a large upstairs windows so she could watch the snow fall all day, and read one of the many books on hand at the cabin. The basic cable TV didn't have much to offer but the cabin had excellent Wi-fi and we used our Netflix account to watch movies so the kids had something to do in the evening. Satellite TV with expanded channels would have been much better, but by no means a deal breaker. The cabin even had snow sleds, bicycles, etc on premises if the season was fitting. Covered parking was sooo nice as snow fell almost the entire trip. All in all, I would highly recommend this property as it really made our trip enjoyable. If we ever return to the area this is where we will stay!

Magical Christmas

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin, well stocked (kitchen was amazing for Christmas baking). We were hoping for a white Christmas for our children and ended up with over 2 feet of snow. The cabin was well heated, clean and with plenty of sleds for the kids to use. The owner contacted us personally and the rental service was very helpful and easy to contact. Several of our friends have messaged me wanting to know where we were after seeing pictures and videos on Facebook, I highly recommend this cabin!

Clean,comfortable cabin in nice neighborhood.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin had all the amenities one could possibly want and so much more. The owners have made their home the perfect vacation cabin by providing guests with extras such as numerous spices, coffee & filters, teas, fans, extension cords to plug in phone chargers, etc. The beds are super comfortable. Everything was very clean with no musty odors. Easy access to the town & surrounding points of interests. Owner was extremely easy to work with and very nice. This cabin is in a neighborhood setting not in a secluded area.

we give your cabin 5 stars

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was beautiful, well stocked and spacious.

We cooked everyday in the well stocked kitchen. It was like a home away from home. After long days of sightseeing it was very nice to come back and feel like we were home.

I would recommend this cabin to everyone.

Beautiful, cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is awesome!!!! It is just walking distance to the lake, we were all very happy to find that out. It is also close to Wal-Mart so we just buy our groceries and cook in the kitchen. I felt very much at home in the kitchen, it has everything I need for cooking our meals. The beds are so comfy, very soft blankets and the showers are great. It has a high pressure and we never ran out of hot water. The neighborhood is also very peaceful and quiet, we felt very safe during our three day stay in Pagosa Springs. The cabin is so beautiful on the inside, very well constructed and I took lots of pictures on the inside, we were just so impressed with how beautiful it looks. My 8 year old said she can live in there forever. Piedra Falls is not too far either. We really have the best of times there, I would definitely stay in this cabin on our next vacation, I will just make sure that we stay there longer, 3 days weren't enough.

The owner is also very nice, she's always available every time I call her when I have questions or when I needed something.

Thank you Miss Neal for letting us stay in your cabin. I left the kitchen spotless, all dishes washed and back inside the cabinets and table wiped clean. Just to show how much I appreciate the beauty of your kitchen 🍽󯐼󭍴🍳󬰮

Your cabin was the best so far out of the three times that we were in Chama and Colorado.

Awesome house within walking distance of the Lake!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at this place while vacationing in Pagosa for my 30th birthday. They had everything we could possibly need to feel at home away from home and one seriously amazing upstairs patio that was fabulous for bird/critter watching. The stargazing at night was absolutely incredible! We were lucky enough to be there during a big meteor shower and could have easily spent the whole night watching the stars from the comfy patio chairs. Not only is the lake just a short walk down the road, but the golf course and the Pagosa Brewery are just up the street too! If/when we return to Pagosa, we will definitely look to stay here again.
