Description

Siesta Key Apartment Rental Photos and Description

2 bdrm with water views

Sunrise Bay is a 2BR, 1.5 bath, second floor apartment, in a 4-plex apartment property. It faces east and is on the water of Little Sarasota Bay. The apartment has a queen size bed in the master bedroom, and two twin, or single beds in the second bedroom. We have a fold-out couch in the living room that sleeps another 1-2 persons.

Our second floor apartment has its own private deck with table and chairs that looks out over the water. The backyard is a paved patio with our own dock for your use. There is a picnic table, chairs, and gas grill on the patio. We also have 2 two-person kayaks, 2 cruiser bikes and 1 tandem, for your enjoyment.

Right behind our apartment is the water of the bay. If you like nature, you will like this place. One wouldn't believe the wildlife that is right close, especially numerous jumping fish of several kinds, wading birds, pelicans, ibis, and spoonbill galore. Manatee, too. If you spend anytime at all out back, or have the patio doors open, you'll often see dolphins! They are a daily occurrence right off of our dock, about 50 feet out. Many times you will hear them exhale loudly, and then you will know to look out to the water.

There are also fruit trees on the property. Palm, orange, mango, and fig, and when they are in season, you can help yourself to their fruit and just grab them off the trees!

If you like fishing, it's pretty good off of our dock. Skate and catfish are mostly caught. Live shrimp make the best local bait and live shrimp are sold at the bait shop up the road. We have 2 fishing rods for your use.

And yes, there is a very nice sand beach right near by for you to swim, sun, or beach comb. This would be Siesta Key's 'Turtle Beach' which is across the road and about 300 yards north. Fine dining nearby and a decent grocery store 2.5 miles north so you don't have to leave the Key unless you want to.

There are beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, beach toys, skim board and such for your enjoyment. So, no need to lug them with you or take the time and money to buy those items for a short time use.

Off street parking is included, coin operated laundry machine, and plenty of heat and air con. The whole apartment, appliances, linens, furniture, etc. are in good condition with professional cleaning between guests. Bring your suntan lotion. Relax or stay in shape as you desire.

Cleaning already included in our nightly rate!

Great location for outdoors and fishing enthusiasts

  • 4 of 5

Our experience renting and staying at this condo has been wonderful from start to finish. Margrette has been very responsive throughout from the time we inquired to the time we checked out. The apartment is clean, well stocked and location is very convenient. The view off the balcony is amazing. Our primary focus during this visit is fishing. Surf fishing to be specific. And we did just that every morning at sunrise down by Turtle Beach. It was phenomenal. After the morning round of fishing at the oceanfront, we were also able to fish right off the dock on the bay in the evenings! The convenience of being able to use the kayak is great. We had a very enjoyable time and will definitely be back.

Absolutely perfect

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the nicest areas of the Gulf Coast we've ever been to and the accommodation was perfect. As others have said, the pictures don't give you a true impression of how spacious the apartment is - plenty of room for a family of four: a nice big kitchen, fully equipped, a comfortable living room/lounge, two good sized bedrooms, bathroom and an en suite.

The most impressive element of this accommodation though is its situation. You get up in the morning and your balcony overlooks the inlet of the bay. You can eat breakfast and drink coffee while you watch for manitee and dolphins, but I warn you - this can become a compelling passtime. We were rarely able to take our eyes off the water! Then head down to the private deck for an early morning kayak on the water. The manitee are friendly and will sometimes swim up to you and say hello. We saw plenty of them and dolphins too. We didn't fish but there was plenty of equipment for this when we were there and I can see how it would have been a nice way to while away an evening.

On the other side of the road you have the Gulf. Beaches are almost empty and the water is calm and warm. You can kayak from the deck down Sunrise Bay (the water pictured) and carry them a few metres across the sand to the sea. That being said, it's nicer (and easier!) to paddle around the bay. Manitee seem to come out in the morning and evenings, and it's the same with the dolphins.

Midnight Pass Road is very quiet but a short drive to the shops. The restaurant next door is nice and there's no noise from it at all. We would have eaten there but with a gas grill and amazing view at the apartment, there didn't seem any point!

Any questions we had were answered promptly by the management/owners.

I would happily recommend this property, it exceeded all of our expectations and we'd love to stay again.

Beautiful view of waterway; quiet area

  • 3 of 5

Accommodations are adequate, however there was only one rod and reel available, not two like was advertised; when calling the local realtor regarding this and other concerns, we received no response. A/C has a hard time keeping the apartment cool especially since it is recommended we turn off the unit while we are away. That's impossible since it takes almost two days for the unit to cool the apartment comfortably. When we checked in at 11:00 AM the apartment was super hot and the A/C unit was not turned on. Since we had reservations, it would have been common courtesy to have the apartment comfortably cool for our arrival. The area is very quiet even with a restaurant next door; very little traffic. Our apartment was on the water, upstairs with a nice deck. We are not 100% sure we would stay here again.

Perfectly relaxing vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My girls and I had a fabulous time in this rental. Everything we needed was supplied. Kayaking was fun! We used both kayaks. We used the bikes to bike everywhere! The rental is spacious and very clean. The kitchen is large but we enjoyed cooking on the bbq grille by the water. Sunrises are beautiful from the back porch. While we were there, we enjoyed fishing off the dock. It is a short walk to Turtle Beach - which is FAR less crowded than Siesta Beach and the water is cooler. We also went parasailing in Siesta Key and ate at a few restaurants. Boatyard Waterfront Bar and Grille was our favorite - superb service and spectacular views! We rented a deckboat from the Bayfront Marina (walking distance from rental) and had a blast.

We will be back in a few months!!
