Wonderfully private with only two apartments sharing the pool and ocean view.

The landlord is upstairs and is very friendly but is not at all intrusive. They were very helpful in suggesting restaurants and activities. Location is great with close access to beaches and restaurants. A car is recommended to visit sites around the island. Very happy with everything!

We stayed at the property in October, 2017. Paul and Kay were wonderful and provided us with everything we could possibly need. The home is astoundingly beautiful and we couldn't stop taking pictures of the view of the bay. We had an amazing time and did not want to leave! Thank you, Paul and Kay for everything - we fully intend to return to the Big Island and will not hesitate to stay at your property again!

Everything we hoped for...and more!

  • 5 of 5

When we dreamed of visiting Hawaii again we wanted a great location on the Kona coast, an amazing view of the ocean, the sound of waves, privacy, access to water and swimming, a home away from home where we could be as busy or relaxed as we wanted on our own schedule. We got all that and more including gracious and accessible hosts, Paul and Kay. We truly felt like we had our own pool and private oceanfront apartment. The East Suite was nicely appointed and comfortable inside and out. We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen including bbq and sink as well as the inside amenities. With our rental car the location was great for heading into Kailiua-Kona or to reach lovely beaches, snorkelling, cultural sites and the other side of the island, Hilo and Volcanies National Park. Very nearby the Keahou Shopping Centre had a grocery store, restaurants, a pharmacy and much more to meet our needs and great tours and attractions exist literally down the street. We highly recommend this rental.

Idyllic! Beautiful views, perfect location, excellent property!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the east and west suite with friends. We enjoyed morning swims before breakfast and dinners prepared in outdoor kitchen- everything we needed was there! - and falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves. Kay and Paul were very kind and accommodating. My husband competed in the Ironman and it was just the right distance to Kona as well as all sightseeing/ snorkeling locations. We can’t rave enough about this rental! Loved it! Thank you, mahalo, Kay and Paul!!

The best way to see Hawaii; hands down!

  • 5 of 5

Paul and Kay were amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better couple to welcome us to Hawaii. The view from the back yard was a-mazing, the east suite was incomparable and the pool and hot tub was always perfect. The best experience someone could have is right here. And that's not sweet talking it. Perfection at its finest. Thank you so much paula and Kay!

The perfect Big Island location

  • 5 of 5

Other places will advertise "direct access," "million dollar views," or luxury amenities, but you're paying for fluff because this place has everything you need. Beautiful sunsets every night right from your own back yard. A huge yard that is private from the public and the neighbors, has a view of the bay, a wonderful pool shaped like a fish(!) & spa, great gas grill. Inside, a comfortable bedroom with the same view, a good sized living room, and a very compact but completely functional kitchen with a full size fridge. Between the toaster oven, the electric skillet, and the outdoor grill, you are able to cook just about any meal. Window A/C units and television worked perfectly. Everything very clean.

The location is also great, allowing easy access to most any of the attractions and shopping on this side of the island. One of the great conveniences is the shopping center a 5 minute drive away. There are a couple restaurants, a full grocery store, gas station, and a few other community amenities like a post office. Truly a HOME AWAY from home.

Owners were super-easy to work with, attentive but not intrusive. They live on site, but when we were in the unit we never heard them. If I went back to Hawai'i, I would stay here again.

(p.s. I checked the box on "I'd recommend this property for people with disabilities." I wouldn't say this property is wheelchair accessible, but the walk from the parking to the unit is firm and level; I think you could also access the units by going through the owners' garage, which would make the approach all paved. Anyway, within the unit, there's just one small step down to the bedroom, and it's a level walk out to the patio and the pool and yard. The pool has both ladder and stepped entry. So, I just wanted to share that information because I know rental homes can be hard when mobility is an issue, and those details aren't always featured.)
