A beautiful property in which to unwind and relax. Remote enough for peace and tranquility yet within walking distance of a vibrant local village. The ready supply of firewood was much appreciated, keeping the mill warm , cozy and inviting in the autumn evenings.Thank you for a lovely stay.
The house was exceptionally good and particularly well cleaned and hospitable. When we arrived, there was a fire in the fireplace; this was a very welcoming gesture. The attention to detail around the ancient moulin machinery was excellent.
The setting is absolutely stunning. We had great weather and access to the river was terrific. Such a relaxing place. Lots of wildlife around including European beavers. An incredible range of things to do in the surrounding area and for the British a relatively easy drive down from the channel ports.
What a wonderful place to stay. Very peaceful loved watching life on the river. Lots to do in the area and good facilities nearby. Anne is very helpful and answers questions very quickly. We’ve all enjoyed staying here.
Highest recommendation for an authentic French experience!
This 3-story mill-turned-home-rental sits on a beautiful stream and is an easy drive to everywhere in the Loire Valley. Had everything we needed and was even better than described. We had a fabulous experience and a great host with excellent English communication skills.
Le Fleuriaux is set in a beautiful quiet location, it is very well equipped and had everything we needed. We loved Kayaking and fishing on the river.
We will definitely be going back again.
The communication with the host was good, responding very quickly to any queries or requests.
Every time we come to the Loire Valley we stay here. It is even better than in the description. The owner provides everything you could possibly need. This visit was the first time we used the fireplace and it was divine in the evenings. The owner provides everything you need for the perfect fire. Emilie took excellent care of us during our stay with swift communication and a sparkling clean 3-story mill home for our stay. Looking forward to our next stay!
An absolutely delightful setting, in the River Indre (literally). With sunny weather, the deck is a great place to sit and relax. A wealth of first rate chateaux within easy reach, plus the Montlouis and Vouvray appelations (try Chidaine at Montlouis).
With kind weather, this is an ideal gite, very highly recommended.
Despite some mixed weather, we had a lovely week by the river. Lots of wildlife, even caught a glimpse of a red squirrel. The house is well equipped, with a cosy log burner for chilly evenings. Lots to see within an easy drive. There are plenty of guidebooks and maps available in the property for use of guests. This was our second visit and it is perfect for a relaxing stay.
Lovely, authentic mill in the perfect location for exploring the Loire Valley.
On arrival at Moulin des Fleuriaux we were delighted with the beauty of its setting. Once inside we found everything we needed, it is well equipped and we very much enjoyed returning there after days visiting Chateaux and places of interest nearby. The weather was mixed during our 10 day stay but we were able to enjoy the outside space on fine evenings and sit around the splendid wood burner inside when it was chilly.
Communication with the owner was excellent before and during our stay.
The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
What an absolutely amazing property, even better than the photos you are literally in the middle of the river. My family really enjoyed using the kayak, fishing rods and sitting by the water.
The house is perfectly decorated and furnished. Only 2 small improvements that would be great, more pillows and fans for the top floor bedrooms as they got very hot.
A most relaxing stay by the river. A wonderful property, well equipped and the most beautiful location. Near to supermarket and bakery but far enough to feel isolated in a nice way. We didn’t go anywhere the whole week, choosing to enjoy the peaceful nature of this wonderful mill.
We saw kingfisher’s many times a day, deer red squirrels and lots of fish.
We will definitely return.
Lovely house in a wonderful location. Lots of grounds and use of the river was great fun. Rooms comfortable and had everything we need.
The age of the property showed in the plumbing (eg when flushing toilet, water came out of the kitchen plug hole)
Communication from host received information for check-in in good time (instructions were really clear) and was prompt to respond to queries. Would have been nice to have had a check that we had arrived / got in / everything fine.
Overall, really recommend

Hello
thank you for trusting us with part of your vacation. We always know when our guests have arrived as we can see the light of the Fleuriaux mill from the other side of the river. In addition, as the arrival was free, it left you complete flexibility if you wanted to change your arrival time at the last minute. If you'd had the slightest problem, I hope you would have contacted me as you had my phone number, I wouldn't have left you by the side of the road! Kind smiley
Anne
We had a wonderful stay in this uniquely beautiful property. As other reviewers have said, lovely though the pictures are, they can't do full justice to how stunning the property is - it has to be experienced. The house itself is very stylish, and well equipped with everything that you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We loved waking up in the morning and opening the windows to the sound of the rushing river. The grounds are something else - so tranquil and calming, close to Nature and its sights and sounds. We loved the beach with its natural shade, we loved paddling and swimming in the water, and we had a couple of kayak trips in each direction, marvelling at the beauty and the peace. The local area is very nice, we enjoyed eating out in Monts and in the next village, Artannes. Tours is also well worth a visit. Communication with host Anne and housekeeper Emilie was excellent; we knew we were in good hands. Overall, we thoroughly recommend this property and can't wait to visit again!
Upon arrival we were on awe. Incredibly beautiful setting. The old restored mill is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We spent hours outside on the terrace and boating in the Indre river. Very quiet, perfect spot to retreat to after visitng neighbouring chateaux or villages. Monts is within walking distance. Our 3 teenage kids also loved this home.
Hosts were easily accessible and very quick to respond to any questions.
This would be a most incredible place to paint or write We would love to return for a longer stay 5 nights were not enough.
Only suggestion would be is be prepared with eruos (cash) for payment of electricity at the end of your stay.

Flowing waters
The Moulin Fleauriaux wa idylically situated on the Indres River, sentisitly restored and converted , ideal for a groups for four friends. It was one of the best equipped places we have stayed in ( Yes we do like to cook when self- catering) down to the last bay leaf for the bouquet garni, a great base too for visiting the Chateaux de la Loire. It would have been good to have met our hostess - it can make such a difference to have some local introductions. One complaint one very small towel per person for a fortnight is not enough and normally a linen change is expected after a week. Otherwise wonderful Thank you Marianne and David
Sewage from the property discharges directly to the River Indre
This is a lovely characterful property in an idyllic and tranquil setting. Overall the property is very well appointed.
However, we were concerned and upset to observe that the raw sewage from the property discharged directly to the River Indre.
Pollution of rivers is a global environmental problem, and it was disappointing to see this apparent disregard for the environment.
It was also concerning that guests are not informed about this issue in the guidance notes for the property. We abandoned any thoughts of swimming once we became aware.

Like you, we are sensitive to the environment of this magical place where magnificent flora and fauna evolve. We have alerted the authorities and the town hall to the need to set up a drainage system, but given the mill's very specific location, no technical solution has yet been found. The subject remains topical...
In the meantime, like all our guests, you have received instructions from me to bring organic products (shampoo, laundry soaps, etc.), while we leave environmentally-friendly cleaning products (organic washing-up liquid, household vinegar, etc.) on site.
Given the many fish that hang around the mill or are caught by our guests, I'd like to think that we have a minimal negative impact....
This is our second stay at the Mill. We keep coming back to Monts just to stay here. Our little ones (4 and 6) love playing in the creek and under the willows, letting their imagination run wild. My husband and in-laws took out the kayaks. There are life vests of all sizes, even for the littles. My husband, kids, and I slept on the top floor. My inlaws (in their 70s) stayed on the second floor. Everyone was able to navigate the stairs easily. There were plenty of supplies in the kitchen and we were able to eat in each night, including grilling three nights. There is a grocery store in town and a Carrfour a short drive away. There is also a great bakery. The famous Chateaux are within easy driving distance. We really love this place as an escape from the busy world and the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the French countryside.
