About Patricia Vargas
We are a local family descended from the Quakers and the locals who came to colonize the area more than 60 years ago. We have had the opportunity to travel and hope that now we can help travelers enjoy and get the most out of their time in Monteverde. Pura Vida.
Why Patricia Vargas chose Monteverde
The property has been in my family ever since the Quakers moved to the area. We are fortunate to own a place located in such a beautiful area.

Amazing property, great location!
The Forest garden home was very lovely! It's in a great location and central to many amenities. The house is very well maintained and exceptionally clean. The new mattresses made for a great night's sleep. Yoanna was an exceptional host, she greeted us upon arrival and offered to book all of our tours at no extra charge. When we got a flat tire she arranged to have one of our tours pick us up and then gave us a recommendation on where to fix the flat. The furniture is handmade by Yoanna's family and she even showed us a YouTube of how it's made. This house is great for families.
Extremely remote and secluded.
We wanted to see Monteverde's preserves, but the weather turned nasty (wind and rain) when we arrived. The entire area is very undeveloped, and the place fits that description too. It was a little tricky to find, and because of the rain, the entrance was muddy. The bedroom situation worked for the four of us, but, unfortunately, there was no running water. Check with Kevin prior to arriving to be sure everything is in working order. Kevin and his father were very attentive, and tried their best to get it running. They even came out in the rain on Christmas to work on it! Unfortunately, it did not, and we cut our stay short due to it and the weather. In nice weather, with working water, it would have been fine, and again, Kevin was great in trying to get it fixed and in refunding us for the night we did not stay. My recommendation is to be sure everything is in working condition prior to staying there.
As the review mentions unfortnatelly the weather was kind of harsh during the guests visit which was not the best to enjoy Monteverde fully. Also as a consequence of the weather there were several problems in the area such as fallen trees and power and water outages.
The water issue which was the one that affected the house directly has been fully resolved and we are even working on upgrading the system to make sure it won't happen again.
