We are sorry that this situation resulted in such a disappointing and frustrating experience for you. We understand that being required to relocate during your stay and subsequently receiving charges related to your reservation created understandable concerns. However, we would like to respectfully provide additional context and clarify several important details regarding this incident. During your stay, a significant plumbing and sewer issue originating from the unit you occupied was discovered. While the issue may not have been immediately visible from inside the condominium, it required immediate professional attention and resulted in damage extending beyond the original unit. A licensed plumber inspected the situation and provided professional findings regarding the cause of the blockage and resulting damage. Suite Paradise has submitted the plumber's findings and the necessary supporting documentation to VRBO Support, and VRBO Support is aware of and involved in the review of this matter. It is important to clarify that you were not charged for the plumbing repairs or the damage caused by the plumbing incident. Because the incident affected additional residences, Suite Paradise is continuing to work with the individual owners and affected parties regarding the costs associated with repairs to the original property and the units impacted below. The total costs associated with this incident extend beyond the amount charged to you, and those additional repair expenses have not been passed on to you. Instead, in an effort to assist and minimize the financial impact to you, the amount you are responsible for is limited to the difference associated with relocating your remaining stay from the original accommodation to the replacement accommodation. Additionally, Suite Paradise removed certain standard fees that would normally apply in connection with the change in accommodations in an effort to further reduce your cost. The charges were therefore not for replacing old plumbing, repairing pipes, or covering the damage to neighboring units. They relate specifically to the change in accommodation after the original unit could no longer safely and reasonably remain available for the remainder of your stay. We recognize that there was frustration regarding the timing of communication and the review process. However, the additional time required was necessary to gather the professional findings, review the circumstances, and coordinate the information with the appropriate parties. The documented findings ultimately determined the outcome of the review, and the matter has been supported by the professional assessment and documentation provided to VRBO. The decision to relocate you was not made lightly. Once the plumbing emergency was identified, immediate action was necessary to prevent additional damage and allow the appropriate repairs to begin. Our priority was to ensure that you had another accommodation available so you could continue and complete your vacation. Suite Paradise takes concerns regarding billing and guest experiences very seriously. We respectfully disagree, however, with the characterization that we acted dishonestly or charged your card without cause. This was an unusual and unfortunate situation that required immediate action, professional investigation, coordination with multiple property owners, and review by VRBO Support. We genuinely regret the disruption this incident caused during your vacation. At the same time, we believe it is important for future guests to understand that Suite Paradise worked to limit the financial impact to you by not charging you for the plumbing repairs or the additional damage caused to other units, while also reducing applicable fees associated with your relocation. Thank you Gail , we apologize for the inconvenience regarding the Poipu Kai association hot tub, we did offer alternative off-site to access a beach style pool and hot tub, the condo priced with the actual furniture photos which is very low for 1 bedroom condo in Poipu
