You're Always Welcome At Linus's Clubhouse! Perched high on the banks of the Mississippi River, this clubhouse has on open floor plan & roomy feel. It features new renovations including dramatic vaulted ceilings; new kitchen cabinets, counter, sink, dishwasher, and microwave; as well as, coordinated lighting and fixtures throughout. This unique getaway has bright and cheery fresh paint throughout and the quaint master bedroom is well-appointed with a comfy king-size bed. Additionally, a new queen-size sofa sleeper is upgraded with a cushy memory foam mattress and with 2 additional cots available at no cost (upon request), this delightfully open and airy clubhouse comfortably sleeps up to 6. Step out to a huge covered deck with your favorite relaxing beverage or slip downstairs to lazily rock the day away on the porch swing. It all combines for you to enjoy an experience you wish will never end. Upon arrival guests receive a dozen of Olivia's Famous Homemade Freshly Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies and a souvenir memento. Don't forget to order some of Olivia's famous made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls and pastries! (Donations greatly appreciated!) We were blown away by the uniqueness of Jerry & Wendy's house and their attention to detail in terms of hospitality! Very clean, cozy, and quiet retreat with stunning views of the river. Great water pressure in the shower too. We tried one of their restaurant recommendations and were not disappointed! If you're ever in the area, I would highly recommend!

The host, Jerry, is a super guy. He made us feel very welcome and comfortable. When we arrived there were two wine glasses and a bottle of white wine. Boy were we ready for a drink after paking and unpacking for the trip.Latter, he knew it was our anniversary so he brought over a vase of flowers. That was extra special. The home feels like a vacation home, comfortable living furniture for everyone and especially the king size bed.The view is definitely what will bring me back the most of all.The barges going by the house and through the lock and dam. This was an exciting experience for us both, and our little dog.

A cozy, elevated cottage along the Mississippi River! The wind was really kicking up on the last day, but the place is super well insulated—didn’t feel the cold at all. This was a great value, and a unique spot!

Loved our stay at Linus' Clubhouse on the river! It was so cozy, clean, with a great view. It was fully equipped with everything we needed and had plenty of board games for enjoyment. We enjoyed sitting out on the front balcony watching boats go by and we did some fishing as well along the bank. Nearby you can by some bait, go to a grocery store, and try a local place called Market Grill for breakfast. There is also Cuivre State Park nearby if you would like to do some hiking that we enjoyed. The homeowners provided great hospitality and were very nice and had nice warming touches for our family upon arrival. We loved and devoured the freshly baked cookies and husband and I enjoyed the wine gift provided as well. If you are looking for a great relaxaing getaway for the family this is a great place to stay and look forward to staying here again in the near future.

Ahead of a move to the greater St Louis area, I visited to start to prepare and get a feel for the neighborhoods. Grateful to have met the Eulentrop family and the wonderful, kind people of Winfield. Highly recommend this.

Staying on the Banks of the Mississippi River Exceeded All Expectations!

We only stayed 3 nights, however I wish we had planned a whole week. The owners made us feel so welcome and a part of the river community. The VRBO had awesome views from the balcony where we could watch the barges and other boats going up and down the river. It is a very rural area so if you want to relax and have peace and quiet, this is the place. We brought our dog and she truly enjoyed our walks and visiting with the owners' dog Forrest. The first day we got there, we had a visit from Olivia the owners' daughter who brought us a big plate of delicious hot chocolate chip cookies. There was a bottle of wine from a local vineyard on the table. We have stayed at quite a few VRBO's from the Maine coast to California, and I have to say this rates as one of the very best. To be able to experience a different world on the Mighty Mississippi was something we will never forget.

It was a a very relaxing experience. A good view of the Mississippi River everything you could possibly want in a rental house complete with all the kitchen stuff you would need for cooking. Beautifully decorated and spacious. There is a nice cafe and a coffee shop , grocery store and gas station. There is two flights of stairs to go up to get to the house.

We wanted to stay by the river and this is right on the river. We had Barge traffic in our front yard. It was really nice. The cabin was very nicely decorated and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wanted to stay longer. The Cookies were great! A nice touch was the wine and the chalk board welcome. Wonderful property owners makes it so comfort. Thanks for doing it right and exceeding our expectations!!!

My partner and I stayed here for my daughter’s wedding only 8 miles away. The location offered great access to the local small town of Winfield and all the amenities you would need, but 20 minutes are so from the city life of O’Fallon, MO. However, the river view and the short drive from Hwy, certainly made for a feel you were a peaceful and remote area. Hosts were amazing in communication and their hospittiall!

All Mom wanted for her 76th birthday

My wife and I, along with our 6 children, live year-round right next door to this property. I grew up enjoying the recreational benefits of the river and we were able to purchase our current residence in 2006 and moved to our newly constructed home in 2010.

Why they chose this property

My father bought the property in 1954 and while our permanent home was in the northwest suburbs of St. Louis I grew up boating, skiing and fishing on the river. There is much history and many great stories (many actually true!) and when you come stay be sure to ask me for a few. In Linus's 60 years on this part of the river he became much beloved (by most anyway) and certainly left his mark on and in the river (as evidenced by a truck that is still sitting at the bottom of the river). We hope you'll forge indelible and fond memories as we share a place that holds innumerable memories for us.

What makes this property unique

There is something captivatingly tranquil about a large majestic body of water gently flowing by. It allows you to release a huge sigh, relax and let the cares of the world roll off. So, kick off your shoes and relax, or go out and cut loose on any of the many recreational activities the river affords. But come and enjoy a good time at Linus's Clubhouse!
