BEAUTIFUL HARBOURSIDE COTTAGE, 2 MIN WALK TO BEACH, Jul and Aug reduced rates

We are thrilled to offer Camellia Cottage as a beautiful and homely harbourside cottage, just 2 minute walk to Portreath beach.

We have just completed a full upstairs refurb for the 2025 sesason and look forward to welcoming guests to a refreshed Camellia Cottage with sleek new bathroom and tasteful coastal decoration throughout the bedrooms.

We are now in our eigthh year of holiday letting having hosted many happy guests and enjoyed a good number of wonderful weeks in Cornwall ourselves. We succesfully navigated Covid and ensured that all affected guests had the choice of a full refund or transfer to alternative dates.

This 3 bedroom property sleeps 6 guests (plus 1 infant) in a double, twin and bunk room. Both the double and bunk room overlook the harbour. For your comfort the double room features a king size bed and the twin beds are extra long (6'6"). There is a travel cot, highchair and stairgate available if you are bringing an infant. The bathroom completes the upstairs accomodation and includes a shower enclosure above the bath. For the convenience of guests bath and hand towels are provided for use during your stay, however guests must bring their own towels for use on the beach.

Downstairs there is a spacious lounge with beamed ceiling and bow window to take full advantage of the harbour views. The lounge includes a wood-burning stove that makes it extra cosy in the winter. Adjoining the lounge is a fully equipped kitchen/diner in which you will find all the usual kitchen equipment as well as: dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer, table and chairs for 6.

Outside, with the harbour located immediately beyond, the front patio area provides a lovely spot to enjoy your morning coffee while taking in the views of boats bobbing and indulging in some people spotting - including watching people jumping into the water from the harbour wall or cliffs! Where the enclosed back patio proves to be a sun trap in the evening to ensure you can enjoy the last of the day while listening to the sound of the sea. In practical terms there is also a clothes line and airers for drying your beach wear ready for your next day of adventure. There is unrestricted on-road parking to the rear of the property and a private parking area to the side.

Portreath is a North Cornish coastal village nestled in a valley between imposing cliffs. It's beautiful sandy beach is ideal and safe for bathing and watersports because of its often sheltered situation and RNLI lifeguard cover. Portreath village includes shops, restaurants, takeaways and is accessible with a train station in Redruth (5 miles) and a regular bus service.

Rental Rules

CHECK-IN TIME is AFTER 4 P.M. AND CHECKOUT is 10 A.M.
NO Early check-in or late checkout.

SMOKING
This is a NON SMOKING property.

PETS
PETS are not permitted in the property under any conditions.

SECURITY/DAMAGE DEPOSIT
A security deposit of £150 is required. It is fully refundable within 7 days of departure, provided the following provisions are met:
No damage is done to property or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
No charges are incurred due to illegal activity, pets or collection of rents or
services rendered during the stay.
All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in rubbish bin, and soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned.
The property requires a typical level of cleaning. Anything above this will be charged at £25 per hour and deducted from the security deposit.
The key is returned to the key safe and unit is left locked, this includes all doors and windows
All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure.
No linens are lost or damaged.
Towels must not be taken to the beach
NO early arrival or late departure.
The renter is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner) or local
law enforcement.

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will no penalty.
Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made between 30 days and 60 days of the arrival date, will be subject to a 50% cancellation charge.
Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 30 days of the arrival date forfeit the full advance payment and reservation deposit.
Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY
The maximum number of guests is limited to seven (7) persons, with no more than 6 adults/children plus 1 infant in a cot. If a booking is found to exceed this limit then all guests may be asked to leave and will forfeit all monies paid.

AVAILABILITY
The contract is made on the understanding that the property will be available for the dates stated. In the unlikely event that the property is not available through events arising out of the control of the property owner, the property owner may be forced to cancel the booking. The hirer will be advised of such circumstances as early as practically possible and the property owner will refund all monies paid in full but the hirer will have no further claims against the property owner.

LIABILITY
The property owner shall have no liability for death or personal injury unless this results from the negligence of the property owner.

INCLUSIVE FEES
Rates include a one-time linen & towel setup.

NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE
While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not
included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the property.

FALSIFIED BOOKINGS
Any booking obtained under false pretence will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.

WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS
Any exceptions to the policies mentioned above must be approved in writing in advance.

PARKING
There is unrestricted on road parking behind the property and to the side there is space for 1 guest vehicle alongside the block of garages. Please refer to welcome pack for detail of exactly where to park in this area to ensure you do not cause anyone else to be blocked in.

INSURANCE
It is your responsibility to take out adequate travel insurance and cover for the duration your trip.

Lovely property in great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Portreath. The property was lovely - clean, comfortable, spacious, well equipped and the location was really great. There was a cream tea awaiting us on arrival, which was a nice touch & very much appreciated. Would love a return visit.

Fabulous Stay at Camellia Cottage

Camellias Cottage is ideally situated on the quiet harbour, the cottage is clean and well equiped with comfy beds a powerful shower and well apointed living room and kitchen/dining room that gave a home from home feeling that made our stay very enjoyable, we are apready planning our return trip we had a fantastict stay.

Family Summer Holiday

A fantastic stay in a lovely place. A real hidden gem, portreath is a quiet spot in cornwall away from the hussle and bustle but all that is in easy reach if you want to visit for a day! But then come back to a lovely property and a little village with just what you need. A little shop for food and essentials, a great local cafe for a breakfast, the beach and a beach front cafe and the portreath pub for a fantastic meal out. Great host and everything you need!

Very good ,one letdown

Great location and the rental is clean and usable , Let down somewhat by Portreath itself, Harbour is still used to drain grey water. , being tidal, the pong was obnoxious to some of our party at low tide when drying out, Note to landlord.....we think the dishwasher needs attention..it would,t stop but worked, Posotives outweighed negatives and overhall a great stay.

If I was to say anything to improve on..A little light in small bedroom would be good . Quite windy through that window. Light shade on big light there too. Kitchen .. Personal thing glass mats not our thing! But practical . Some bigger dishes , mixing or serving food . Outside gate rattles a lot in the wind (wedge) Key box light would help .

Lovely House in a Wonderful Location

Cottage Nice 3-bedroom house within 3 minutes walking distance from Portreath beach. Front windows overlooks the harbour and the stairs landing window overlooks Portreath bay and the sea. Parking Was easy to park along the same road as the house and there was more parking out on the main road. Kitchen Fully equipped kitchen with electric hob and oven and an 800-watt microwave. Blender and toaster, salt and pepper, tea bags, coffee and sugar are provided. There was also a pint of milk in the fridge for a much need cup of tea upon arrival. Cups/cutlery and glasses are plentiful. A Washer Machine with Drier was also a welcome addition. A dishwasher is also available but we never used it. Connectivity Broadband is provided via a BT hub fibre connection. Speed at time of stay is 50 down and 9 up which should suffice most usage. O2 mobile signal is almost non-existent inside the house but we used the TuGo app from o2 which was brilliant, if your network provides it Wi-Fi calling, Whatsapp or iMessage should also work. Technology Flat panel tv with HDMI blue ray in the living room was most welcome when it was raining outside. Bedrooms 3 bedrooms, with a very comfortable double bed in the main bedroom. Local Food & Takeaway Local area has corner shop, bakery and a couple of restaurants. Justeat.co.uk gives you more options that delivery, very nice curry from Manha Spice House in Redruth. Local shopping can be had from Aldi which is about a 10 minute drive back towards the A30 or there is a Tesco in Redruth which is about 15 minute drive. Bathroom Bath with very powerful shower which was nice. Contact with Owner Communication with Gail the owner, was excellent, via email, HomeAway messaging and text message. Information regarding the cottage was provided in advance, with more information at the cottage along with brochures for local attractions and events. Overall Would highly recommend this cottage, it is in a fabulous location and is very clean and tidy.

Accomodation excellent, & everything provided for a very comfortable stay. Location couldn't be better. Right on the port side & 2 minute walk to the beach. Fantastic safe beach for children with rock pools caves etc. Good scenic bus service from Portreath to Peranporth.

Memories are made of this.

Brilliant location with the most beautiful sunsets, without even having to leave the house. The owner is very obliging and quick to respond to any emails. Parking can be difficult even though there is meant to be a space opposite the garage it’s often taken but we were able to come to an arrangement with the management at the Waterfront Inn to park there fir a small fee, which was well worth it. Perfect beach with surf, rock pools and caves.

I grew up in Cornwall, enjoying summers on the beach and wanted to give my children a taste of my special memories. This property is just 2 mins from a great and safe beach meaning we can easily go for the day or just pop across for an hour. I love the harbour views and the wood burning stove which makes it a great homely base all year round.
