The "Florida" room envelops you in cozy warmth, painted in a custom Benjamin Moore color, that is a deep "stunning" blue. This room features a "60" flat screen TV, and French doors that open out to the side patio. Walk along the brick terrace to the new T shaped saltwater pool, nestled among your private tropical garden, filled with the scents of jasmine and gardenia.
The formal dining room has seating for 6, and has French doors that lead out to the Loggia, a beautifully covered outdoor dining area with seating for 4~ Step through this gate to the pool, for more al fresco dining.
The kitchen is newly updated with all new appliances and fixtures, and an induction range.
(Laundry room has a new washer & dryer.)
The three bedrooms in the main house are upstairs; the Master bedroom has a king size, four poster bed, and is furnished in soft white, neutrals and pale blue, for a calming spa like feel.
The bathroom for this bedroom is next door, and features the original tub and tile from 1925. The shower head has been replaced, and the room has been updated with crisp white paint and blue "coral" fabric to create a fun "beach-y" vibe, without compromising the integrity of the era.
The next guest room-the "sea turtle" (navy bedroom) has a queen size bed, and is fashioned to look like a daybed, with lots of down pillows.
The "starfish" bedroom also has a queen size bed, and is done in soft white, with pops of pink & orange.
These two bedrooms share the "bumble bee" bathroom, which features the original 1925 yellow & black tile, a unique black octagonal sink, and black light fixtures. There is a stall shower in this bathroom (no tub), and a new shower head.
All three bedrooms have TV, new mattresses, new luxury linens, and 100% down pillows & duvets.
The Guest Cottage(Casita Lucinda)-This separate cottage, is steps away from the pool, and offers an additional 400 sq. feet. of living space; Enter thru the newly located door to the right, and what once was a tiny garage space has been converted into a gleaming white storage/laundry area with plenty of storage for towels, serving pieces, cushions, pool accouterments, etc. Enter the one bedroom cottage thru this space into the newly configured living area. The kitchen, and bathroom(with a newly tiled shower enclosure), remain in the same location. The bedroom has a new queen size bed, and there is a daybed in the living room that has a twin size mattress, with a second twin bed (trundle style) underneath. The kitchen has a stove, fridge, toaster and microwave. There is a breakfast "nook" with seating for 4, and there is a new TV in the antique pine armoire. This adorable little guest suite will sleep 2-4 people.

About Shawn Holmes
As you get older it is lucky to find a "new" path, one that has lead me to this home and a business I love. I had no idea when I bought this home, that less than 3 years later I would find myself in the "vacation" home rental business. It was really by chance. When my Mother passed away, I was lucky enough to have the money to Purchase a home. I had spent all my winters in New York for the past 20 years, and decided I had had enough...I wanted the warmth and sunshine of another place. I had never really been "over the bridge" to WPB before, having spent my childhood vacationing with my family on Palm Beach. But when my youngest brother moved to WPB, I mentioned that I would like to look at some houses? He found me this one! I bought it without even seeing it! I loved it from the 1st time I saw the photos. WPB is a unique place, and it has changed dramatically throughout my lifetime...The area my home is in, has not changed; Beautiful, Historic homes, built around 1925...But, now there is great shopping, art, culture, music, all within a short distance. The beach, the "lake"(people refer to it as the intercoastal now)...But it will always be Lake Worth to me! I love the sea, and everything about the beach...but, I also love the quiet of the lake, the bike path that winds along the lake on "The Island" is still one of my most favorite things to just walk along with my dog, Perlita. I hope to someday spend a lot more time there, but in the meantime I hope my "guests" will enjoy it as much as I do.
Shawn Holmes purchased this House in 2014
Why Shawn Holmes chose Central Park
My Grandparents would spend the New York winters in Palm Beach, and they wouldn't come back up north until spring! My mother would send my brothers and my sister and I down on vacation, to spend time with them. Palm Beach was such a magical place, and I had such fond memories of those years, so long ago. So when one of my brother's moved to West Palm Beach, and I started to visit the area again, I discovered the historic districts of West Palm Beach, and fell in love with Southland Park & El Cid. I bought this home, knowing that I wouldn't be able to travel in the same "style" that my Grandparents had, (spending the entire winter on vacation) but, I hope to spend as much time there as I can. I love the area, the houses, the tropical climate, the beach, the bike paths, the quaint little restaurants...the antique shops...my neighbors...you get the idea!
What makes this House unique
The pool is what caught my eye originally...then the landscaping, the lush, tropical feel, and the privacy... the historic Mediterranean architecture... all reasons why I fell in love with the house... The hard wood floors, the fireplace, the original french doors, the leaded windows...all remind me of "Old Palm Beach", and an era when my Grandparents would have been living and socializing in homes, very reminiscent of mine.

wonderful thanksgiving stay
We traveled from the west coast of Florida, Ohio, Indiana, and LakeForest, Ill, to watch our granddaughter play field hockey and have a family Thanksgiving. It was great because we had a beautiful home plus guest house for all of the family to enjoy. Andriana brought fresh flowers and gave us help with all we might need .We had a wonderful holiday in your beautiful home! Thanks for sharing!!!
It was a pleasure to host you and your family over Thanksgiving weekend! My sister-in-law & property manager said that you were wonderful guests, and really enjoyed meeting you! Thanks for such a lovely review!
A Beautiful Home
Attention to detail is evident in every room of this classy Spanish style home. It is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with all the needed appliances and gadgets. The neighbors are friendly and the location is convenient to shopping, beaches and restaurants. The airport is less than 10 minutes away. We were traveling with adult sons. One chose to occupy the guest house which gave him the privacy he needed for the work time of his working vacation. A very nice feature.
We spent much of our time enjoying the beautiful pool and back garden patio. The logia provided a nice escape from the sun and the table and chairs there made a nice spot to dine.
We are looking forward to a return trip.
The Winters family.
Beautiful Attention to Detail
My family lives in California or Washington. When my then 65-year old brother invited us to attend his first-ever wedding and accompanying festivities in West Palm Beach, the search was on to find a large enough home to give us some individual space while not breaking the bank. My family of four adult children and my husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at Shawn's vacation rental. We loved the interior decoration, the linens, the soaps, the mattresses (so comfy!), the light, and all the little touches such as beach totes and mosquito repellent. We appreciated the a/c and fans.
The pool is stunning, and the outdoor furniture comfy. We were a bit startled by the nearby daytime-only planes and railroad cars, but again, they were only during the day, and hardly a constant, but enough of a negative to rate our stay 4/5 stars. The property's location made for an easy drive to the Atlantic coast and its beckoning beaches. The property managers, even when under stress, were promptly helpful to questions and dropped off more beach towels when asked.
I would definitely consider using Shawn's lovely home if staying in West Palm Beach again.
p.s. Shawn's mother, for whom the house is named, was a beautiful woman, and obviously much loved.
Dear Denise, Thank you so much for this lovely review! I will say that after our numerous email exchanges I would like you to know that you would be more than welcome to stay at Casa Divina anytime! And your rating should reflect 4 Stars!
Also, Just an FYI; now that Donald Trump is soon to be our President, the airline traffic will dissipate dramatically!
His home in Palm Beach~Mar-A-Lago is directly across Lake Worth from my home!
The WPB International airport MUST maintain a 3000 ft (1/2 mile NO FLY ZONE!) LOL~
So, as a result the airline traffic will be greatly reduced in future! I hope to host your family again in future!
All that we hoped for and more. We were in town for my son's wedding, we hosted a party for family they could not stop raving about the house and outside gardens and pool. We will be back for sure. Thank you Shawn and Adria you guys are the best. Ray and Jackie, Malvern Pa.
Thank you so much! We would love to have you come again anytime!
My family and I visited WPB for my grandparents 70th wedding anniversary. From the first inquiry the owner Shawn was so nice and responsive. The house is a gem. Private, unbelievable outdoor entertainment space, so many nooks for breakfast or lunch or dinner by the pool. Fire pit, guest house, etc. I couldn't recommend it more. Oh, and the location is ideal, no more than 10-15 minutes from the airport, beach, Flagler dr wall path. We will be back for my grandfathers 100th birthday!
Great spot for all activities.
We were down for a golf trip and the location was perfect for getting Notrh or South while enjoying nearby nightlife. House is very well maintained and a quiet neighborhood.
There is so much to do and see in this area; If you like sports, music, theatre, antiquing, fishing, sightseeing, history, shopping, eating...LOL... the list goes on and on. That's why I have a "must-do-book" that you will receive via email, and a "hard copy" when you arrive at my home. It gives you an insider's guide to Palm Beach as well as West Palm Beach, with all the hidden "gems" that you might never have heard of!
