This beautiful and comfortable home is best for a MAXIMUM of FOUR ADULTS UNLESS YOU ARE BRINGING AN RV or TRAILER and YOU LET ME KNOW AT LEASE ONE WEEK PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. Four adults OR two adults and two children maximum applies without RV or trailer reservation. You'll adore this gorgeous San Felipe home in El Dorado Ranch. Fantastic lay out, awesome indoor and outdoor living areas in a master suite home for ultimate peace and tranquility. Large lot, RV parking on property with FULL hookup (By SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT ONLY), mountain and sea views, 55" satellite TV, 24/7 security gate, high ceilings, a short 3 mile drive to the Ranch's private pools, tennis courts, ATV trails, and private beach. Two pools - one brand new, one near the private beach. Ride your ATV right from the house - quad heaven! BBQ grill, large brick patio faces ocean. Large observation deck for panoramic views. Sparsely populated but the few neighbors we have are wonderful.
A quick drive to Ranch facilities, including the championship golf course - the charing fishing village of San Felipe. Great restaurants and grocery stores, friendly locals, and though we have a variety of food choices San Felipe is a sea food lover's dream - especially for giant fresh shrimp.
(Please note: $35 Resort fee collected upon check in at El Dorado Ranch Guest Services at the La Ventana del Mar Gate - approx. 6 miles north (before) downtown San Felipe. For pool and gate passes, etc.) WiFi is also available at the Ranch pools, the Ranch restaurants, Pavilion, La Palapa, and downtown. The private Ranch beach is 3 miles from the house and includes drive up parking and palapas-- and is one of the best beaches in the San Felipe area.
Check-in at La Ventana del Mar - the main El Dorado Ranch gate - on the left as you are driving south towards San Felipe. See RECEPTION sign entrance area.
Please note the short drive right up to the gate of the El Dorado Ranch beach is the best way to visit the beach/Sea of Cortez and the swimming pools at the Ranch. Carrying chairs and coolers in the sun is no fun - and there are a very limited number of higher priced condos directly adjacent to the beach. So enjoy the cool and quiet of the house - and the A/C in your vehicle on your way to the beach and the pools!
Check in at 4:00pm - Checkout at noon. Pay resort fee of $35 per family, get key, pool passes, and directions to house, etc. at Reception at the La Ventana del Mar gate located on the left approximately 21 miles south of the checkpoint at Mexico HWY 5 and HWY 2.

PLEASE REMEMBER - NO QUAD RIDING or FIREWORKS ARE ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON EL DORADO RANCH PROPERTY. You may use vehicle roads only to pass through to a destination - like the POOLS! Great fireworks are avaliable in San Felipe and there are places to use them. If you use them anywhere on Ranch property security WILL come and you can be ejected from Ranch property.

Turn off the lights, lock the doors, and return the keys
Please turn off lights and place bedroom air splits at 24C and living area split to 22C. Please place garbage in large can on back patio. Please lock doors and return key to Reception. Thank you!
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Use of RV Pad or treadmill requires pre-arrival request and $50 per night additional charges.
Please be conservative with water and air-conditioner use. Set air to 30 Celsius when leaving house in summer at any time.
Do not leave small children unattended on roof deck.

Clean and comfortable desert home in secure area

This rental was perfect for me and my dog. Tiled floors, great patio, and second enclosed fence. Many homes out here have wide open patios. The house is very equipped with all required cookware and serving placements. The yard is maintained weekly by gardeners. The owner is a very good communicator and responds quickly to requests The Ranch has lots of included activities like bingo, pickleball, and many other events.

I really enjoyed it . It is a nice house and the view is great. The only problem we hade it was that the refrigerator didn’t work and we had to buy ice continuously to keep our food cold. Other problem it was the WiFi I couldn’t make it work. The rest it was great . Thank you very much.

We had a fun relaxing time!

Thank you John for sharing your home with our family. This is our second time staying here. We like the location and security it provides. Check in is easy. The home is clean and had the essentials. We went at the beginning of Corona virus so many of the restaurants were closing and pool/ jacuzzi was closed. It was bad timing on our part, but already had reservations so we went for it.

Beautiful home in gorgeous location

Me and my family loved this property. We've stayed in San Felipe many times and in various types of accommodations. This property has been our favorite. The home feels like it's located in a remote desert, but without being deprived of the amenities one has back home. It's in a lovely community with large lots, so there is lots of privacy. The home isn't huge, but the architect expertly designed the property to feel open. You will not be cramped with 6 adults. My favorite part was the rooftop deck and back patio. If you're looking for a great getaway at a reasonable price, look no further.

John was a great host throughout the process, answering all questions, providing information, and sharing his personal reflections of living in San Felipe. Thanks John! The check-in process was easy, quick and as stated. The security staff were ever pleasant and courteous. The house was clean and a good layout. The location (at the most northerly entrance to El Dorado) was some distance out of town but a nice location to enjoy the silence of the desert. Sunrises over the ocean and sunsets behind the mountains were wonderful ways to begin and end the days...or simply reflect. Met some very helpful fellow Canadians on the visit who also live in San Felipe or have been going down there for 20, 30 years plus which was a bonus. Will be re-connecting with them for further info and insights as we research our winter getaway location.

Peaceful place

I would call this a "casita"! It was very clean and contained mostly everything we needed. It was very peaceful to wake up in the mornings and sit outside with our coffee and enjoy the tranquility of the desert. We also thoroughly enjoyed the activities offered by El Rancho. We played tennis in the mornings then played water volleyball in the afternoon. We met some wonderful people who welcomed us into their groups. We also listened to live music while we were there. We were there only 2 nights, but would like to come back to explore San Felipe and the surrounding areas in more detail.

Nice casita, it has everything you need for your stay. Awesome surround sound system, nice big screen tv, blue ray player, xcellent TV guide by Dish. If it had WiFi it would have been even better. My suggestions would be to replace the mattress on the bedroom to the right when you come in the house. Unconfortable and noisy. Replace the blinds on the doors that lead to the back patio. They felled apart 2 times trying to open and close them. I wished the lights on the top terrace would have worked. Bathroom paper tissue and trash bags were not provided. Overall nice house, definitely will come back. My family and pet loved it. P.S. careful when in the fire pit at night. Snakes were present.

The house is beautiful and well appointed. Most comfortable. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The small town of San Felipe is clean and very friendly. Restaurants are plentiful and very good. The El Dorado Ranch Resort is nice. It has pools, tennis courts, restaurants, bars, events and many things to entertain you. Landlord is beyond helpful for anything we needed. We really liked the views and the sunrises and sunsets. Very good roads to get you there. John was most helpful with directions and maps.

We adore San Felipe and look forward to retiring here. We've been coming here multiple times a year since 2003.
There's nothing quite like being able to hop on a quad and ride over to the pool or beach. Golf, fishing, AWESOME and inexpensive dining, great neighbors and volunteer opportunities, the mountains, the sea, the breeze, the desert - all the elements we love in one beautiful place.

Why they chose this property

The four percent grade from the Sea of Cortez to the mountains provides a constant and consistence sea view as you move into the tranquil and inviting desert landscapes. The quiet is profound and elicits a peaceful environment in which to be calmed and rejuvenated. You have to experience it to really know - visit our home and you'll see why people fall in love with the house, the surroundings and San Felipe. Ah, Baja - no bad days!

Incredible views, including some of the most beautiful Sea of Cortez sunrises and mountain sunsets. Pull a chair up to the fire pit and relax in a desert that offers spectacular skies - with a bright rich pageantry of stars and a giant over sea moonrise - so bright you can walk in the desert at night.
