Au coeur de la Toscane, un gîte avec un confort et un accueil au top!!

Nous étions en famille pendant une semaine, le gîte est situé au cœur de la Toscane, au cœur des vignobles du Chianti, à proximité des sites à visiter: Florence, Sienne, Volterra, San Gimignano, Arezzo, ... Courses alimentaires à proximité (3km) à Figline, Les conseils et l'accueil de Paolo et Enza sont un plus fort agréable... Vue de la piscine et terrasse splendide!!! Nous recommandons.

Kommen gerne wieder

Sehr nette kleine Anlage, mitten im Grünen. Alles sauber und gepflegt. Tolle Aussicht. 10 Min mit dem Auto nach Figline, 30 Min mit dem Zug nach Florenz. Guter Startpunkt für Erkundung der Toskana, speziell Chianti. Enza und Paolo sind sehr freundliche und nette Gastgeber. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Great location and wonderful hospitality

I Gelsi is situated in a beautiful rural setting but within easy reach of the nearby town where there are some good shops and restaurants. There are also a few excellent restaurants within walking distance of the property. It is an ideal place from which to explore beautiful Tuscany both by car and rail. Paolo knows the region very well and is happy to help you plan a route to include the best places to visit. Enza and Paolo are extremely kind and helpful. Enza made a fabulous meal for us and we spent a delightful evening with the family and other guests. The property is very traditional but has been modernised to a high standard and is well equipped. There is a lovely shaded terrace for dining and relaxing and the pool area is a great place to spend some time after a day travelling. There is a CO-OP hypermarket on the outskirts of the town which sells pretty much everything including fresh produce of the highest quality. There is also "Space" the Prada outlet which is about a twenty minutes drive away. I would recommend this property without hesitation and am already planning my return!

Enza is an Italian born midwife who returned to Florence from the United Kingdom in the late 1980s. Her husband Paolo is a Florentine photographer and together they live in one wing of the main house with their two children enjoying a traditional Italian family lifestyle.

During Summer Enza takes advantage of the home grown produce to create preserves and sauces and of course, in Autumn, everyone helps with producing Olive Oil from the groves surrounding their house.

Why they chose this property

In 1998 Paolo and Enza Carlini fell in love with a large farmhouse set on 14 acres of land, in a beautiful position above the 13th century town of Figline Valdarno with stunning views of the Tuscan countryside.

They slowly and carefully restored the house preserving the original character and charm, deciding to name the property after the numerous Mulberry trees that surround the house. The grounds offer privacy and plenty of opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the italian countryside with enjoyable walks through fields and wooded copse. However you are still only 10 minutes from the centre of Figline, and it's charming Piazza, modern amenities and frequent rail service to both Florence and Rome.

What makes this property unique

Though peaceful and rural, I Gelsi is within easy reach of many of the Medieval towns and cities of Tuscany and makes a superb base for touring this wonderful region.

I Gelsi boasts a large infinity pool which is positioned so that the wonderful view of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed in sunshine from early in the morning to sunset.

A substantial brick built, rustic barbecue, located away from the apartments to prevent smoke nuisance, is available for everyone to use and perhaps try out "Bistecca alla Fiorentina".
