This bright and cozy casita makes the perfect home away from home while you explore Sonoma and the surrounding wine country. It is located on a quiet, peaceful property but is just minutes from the cafes, restaurants, shopping and of course, wineries, that make Sonoma famous! Enjoy the newly renovated kitchen that is equipped with all the amenities. Kick back and watch a movie in front of a warm fire or enjoy a glass of wine on the covered patio. The home has 2 bedrooms (each with full sized beds) and a queen sized sleeper sofa which makes it the perfect location for a family or small group of friends. Guests have dedicated parking and access to laundry within the casita. One night minimum stay during the week (Sunday-Thursday) and 2 night minimum stay on weekends (Friday and Saturday) during high season (April 1-November 31).
The casita was a perfect place to stay for our wine trip to Sonoma and Napa Valley. There were 4 of us in total and it was the perfect amount of space. It provided easy access to both the Napa and Sonoma areas.
The casita is the perfect spot for an escape from the city. Very rustic, but with close proximity to wineries galore. We loved the back patio in particular.
This property reminded me of a French countryside cottage -- slightly difficult to find (a number of driveways in the same spot), a semi unsightly façade (cars, converted garage appearance) and adorable once you enter. They have done a great job on the inside remodel. Its rustic country chic with all the required elements to a home (running water, cute décor, nicely appointed kitchen and a patio for consuming wine, while in wine country!). One bed is extremely comfortable, one bed is pretty comfortable, and the pull out is....a pull out. The sitting area is pretty tight and even though it claims to sleep 6 or so people, 6 adults would not be very comfortable.
The location was great, just 1.5 miles outside of the Sonoma plaza, easy to get around Sonoma and easy to get over to Napa (with the normal hiway choke points). Was a good find and a good value.
Budget friendly place to explore the pricy Napa/Sonoma region. Four stars if you can enjoy a certain level of casualness, (which I can), perhaps 3 stars if you are extremely meticulous. Basically everything you need is supplied. Close to a fairly busy road, but again that barely impacted us. My only qualm was the bedsheet was worn which gave the appearance of them not being fresh. But that's an easy fix, and I was able to preserve my budget for dining and shopping etc. I was grateful to be able to book for one night which is a courtesy that is not easy to find in this region.
I stayed at the Casita this past weekend with two other women on a girls trip to wine country. The cottage is cozy and cute, and fit our needs. While it doesn't look like much from the outside, the inside is updated and attractive. I found the beds to be fairly comfortable, and while I agree with some reviewers that a queen rather than full would be an improvement, the bedrooms are likely too small to fit a larger bed. Luckily my friends and I are close and don't mind sharing a smaller bed! It would have been nice to have more mirrors and outlets throughout the house to avoid crowding in the bathroom to get ready in the mornings, and a full sized frying pan would have been convenient. We enjoyed using the grill to cook dinners, and the filtered water pitcher was very handy to have! We did run out of toilet paper, and I was very impressed with how responsive Heather was in arranging for some to be dropped off on short notice. Overall, some minor things could be improved upon, but it was an affordable option that suited our needs. Would are 3.5 stars if I could use half stars.
The location is just on the outskirts of the town of Sonoma. The little home is frankly shabby from the outside; the front yard was not maintained, but the inside of the casita is just as described. The kitchen was spotless, the towels and linens supplied were great, and our night's sleep was quiet and restful.
We couldn't get the TV to work; just wanted to see the news, but instructions to synchronize with all devices was too much to deal with.
Frankly, I expected a nicer 'vacation' experience in Sonoma, but it served our basic needs (3 people) for an overnight stay.
We had a great lunch at The Girl and the Fig, a massage at Sonoma Massage (772 W Napa Street), dinner at Della Santinas, and breakfast at Sunflower Caffe; all eateries around the Plaza in town, and all excellent.
