Steps away from the Ocean, and your private pool is right off the covered lanai. Playa Potrero is renowned for its soft volcanic sand, and gentle warm ocean water. It's the perfect swimmer's and walker's beach.

Casa Columbine is the perfect location for the “Beach Hopper” with many world class beaches nearby. There is Potrero for Relaxation, Flamingo and Tamarindo for People Watching and Shopping, Penca and Prieta for Seclusion, Conchal for getting Back to Nature and Playa Grande for Costa Rica's best surfing.

The best Sun, Surf, Pool, Beaches, Restaurants, Bars, Jungles, that Costa Rica has to offer. Your visit includes membership at the Costa Rica Sailing Center (renting sailboats, stand uo surfboard, bikes and yoga classes), a 5 minute walk down the beach.

Your stay will begin with picking up the keys to Casa Columbine from our professional property management company (they can arrange transportation, tours, shopping for groceries and even a private chef!). Your stay will be uninterrupted, peaceful, and everything you should expect from a beach vacation in Costa Rica.

This is a great property! It’s well stocked, well kept and very enjoyable place to stay! The kitchen had everything we needed for light cooking. It was very clean and comfortable. The lanai and pool were perfect for relaxing days! The owner was very responsive to questions before our trip, and the property manager was helpful and accessible during our stay. Also, the owner provided lots of very helpful I information about the property and the local area. We highly recommend this property!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this home in Playa Potrero. From the moment we arrived, it exceeded our expectations. The property is beautifully maintained, with lush, well-designed gardens that create a peaceful and private atmosphere. The pool was a highlight for us and quickly became part of our daily routine, it’s perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach.The house itself is very spacious, even for just the two of us, and never felt cramped. Everything was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully laid out. We especially appreciated the beach toys and gear provided at the house, which we used almost every day and made our beach time even more enjoyable.This home truly felt like a retreat, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This was a gem that had absolutely every comfort of your own home. Beach chairs & towels, to-go cups, every kitchen utensil, basic spices, flashlights and more and more. Communication was seamless with owners and property mgmt company. And the pool is larger than it appears in the pictures - it was perfect.

Our stay at Casa Columbine was excellent, with both the host and the property management firm being very responsive and helpful. Communication was consistently positive throughout our trip. Before our arrival, the host provided a detailed and useful list of recommended activities, dining options, and places to visit.The property itself is well-maintained and tastefully furnished, featuring a fantastic kitchen, an outdoor grill, and a private pool area. For getting around locally, a car is not necessary unless you plan to travel into the interior of Costa Rica. Shops and restaurants are easily accessible with a pleasant walk along the beach, but be sure to consult the tide guide before heading out. We found the Uber service to be reliable and very good.We highly recommend checking out Playa Conchal and Playa Flamingo, which cost about USD8.00-10.00 for a one way Uber trip to these beaches. A notable casual dining spot was Potrero Brewing, where we enjoyed excellent birria tacos and excellent cold, locally brewed beers.In conclusion, we will definitely stay at Casa Columbine again on a future trip to the area.

The property was fantastic! Had every item you would need for a wonderful stay. The pool was perfect during the afternoons when the beach was too hot. All the restaurants you would need and markets walking distance.

Great home

Great location and very well equipped and comfortable home. Wish we were staying longer. Our only negative was that we assumed that when the listing said “oceanfront” that it was right on the ocean. Only one block from the ocean but with the buildings in front of the house you couldn’t even see the water.

Great return visit!

This was our second stay at Casa Columbine and everything was wonderful, just as before! The location is great for short drives to other beaches (since Potrero is a little too rocky for our kids), especially Flamingo and Prieta. Great restaurants near by as well!

I fell in love with Costa Rica during my first visit here in 2005. Casa Columbine is named after the state flower of Colorado, and is a life long dream come t0 have my very own beach home! I first visited Potrero in February 2015, and from the first view of the bay from Las Brisas Bar, and throughout my week here, it felt right. There is a laid-back, authentic, quiet, and friendly feeling to this place that is so refreshing.
