What a View!!!
This property is located right on the bluff of the western side of Whidbey Island. The view is due west and is extensive. The house sits above all the houses to the south and thus there is a great view to the south along the coast line, nearly to Port Townsend, certainly encompassing the peaks of the Olympic Mountains. San Juan Islands are visible the north.
We saw many different weather conditions during our four days, including calm seas and 6 foot swells with 20 knot winds. There was an endless parade of working and pleasure boats off shore. Occasional visits by the bald eagles cliff soaring along the face of the bluff were fascinating. Once we saw an eagle with a fish nearly as big as he was! And there was Navy jet traffic some times, the sound of freedom they say. I enjoyed the show when they flew overhead!
The only down side is the interior is a bit dated and the kitchen is very small. But who cares! The view rules at this property!!!
It is perfect.
We have stayed on the island before. In different areas around Oak Harbor/Coupeville and this property is by far the best. We loved the view, the close proximity to both cities and the relaxing atmosphere of the house. Suzie was great to work with. We booked far in advance and then the pandemic happened. She assured us every step of the way. Even letting us know they had it cleaned the week before and that there hadn't been renters in there recently. We will definitely stay here again
Beautiful place to stay
I have stayed at this property twice now and would recommend it for anyone wanting to experience Whidbey Island. It is nicely located just North of the Ebey State Park with trails and beach. You can drive to Deception Pass or go South and explore other parks and beaches on South Whidbey. The kitchen is fully stocked for any cooking, and also has a Keurig machine and a drip coffee machine. The bathrooms could use a little more attention from the cleaners. The view is world class. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Spectacular spot with outstanding water views!
This home is well appointed, comfortable with a kitchen stocked with spices to encourage cooking great meals! Our three person family found this to be his the right size space for time together and apart. We enjoyed the ocean, amazing sunsets and night sky! Close to town with good eating nearby. Very enjoyable place to stay while exploring Whitby Island.
Would stay here again if we come back to the area. Easy to find and nice area. In the middle of the island if you like to go site seeing.
This idyllic spot is just minutes from the historic towns of Coupeville and Oak Harbor. There are many vacation activities available on Whidbey Island: collecting agates on your own beach, hiking on nearby trails (Fort Ebey and Fort Casey), walking on the ferry for a day in Port Townsend, biking, kayaking, birding, boating, and more.
