We are a family of 5. My husband John and I have two beautiful little girls, 8 and 5 years old and now a darling baby boy!
My husband is a amazing carpenter but really a 'jack of all trades' and has an amazing eye for detail!
He completely remodeled this sweet little cabin and has turned it into a little gem in the woods now! This cabin is immaculate and serene. Outfitted beautifully with charming and comfortable furniture and all that you need to make a scrumptious meal. I have enjoyed decorating it in a mountain cabin theme.
We hope that you enjoy the work, thought and love that has gone into this cabin. Not everyone needs a cabin that sleeps 8-12, some just want a beautiful, clean and equipped place to relax and enjoy life!
Please be our guests and let us know what you think!
Geneva Crane purchased this cabin in 2005
We chose this property for many reasons. We like that it is on a private road so the amount of cars is minimal. It is also a 3 acre property and the neighboring properties are 3-10 acres. We loved the two existing cabins on the property that desperately needed some TLC. John loves to bring life back to properties that have been neglected and he set right to work on tis little cabin!
We have chosen this spot for building our new home, and we want to share the beauty and serenity that we see in this property with others.
This cabin is situated on a spacious 3 acres and although it is close to the town, you still have a quieter, more private place than the cabins in town.
What a great place to stay! Mom and I stayed for a few days in this very peaceful cabin. It was a great place to stay to explore the surrounding towns and play a little at the Black Oak Casino. We had a great time! The cabin is very clean and has everything you need for a getaway. We visited from Coarsegold, CA (near the South entrance of Yosemite) so we are used to being in the mountains. We didn't want to stay in a hotel as it is too confining so this was the perfect place to make us feel at home. Thank you Crane family for allowing us to stay at your place! <3
Realized that i had forgotten to say to vrbo what i said to Geneva after we left. That after we got as far back toward SF as "....Manteca, we ran into so much traffic, smog, noise, and cars and people that we wanted to turn around and head back toward Twain Harte and your cabin." It's fantastic, so relaxing and rejuvenating. Spotless, perfect, wonderful weather. Don't know what else to say, perfect for a getaway. Nice restaurant recommendations from Geneva nearby. Nice place altogether.
This was a great little cabin in the woods :) Felt very quiet and peaceful, beautiful inside and out. Very enjoyable would definitely return and recommend. Perfect for 2 people.
This place is truly amazing on all levels possible. The attention to every detail will truly blow you away. Its in a very awesome neighborhood. After spending time taking in all the different activities during the day, it was like coming home when we returned to cabin, we made some wonderful meals in the beautiful kitchen and simply enjoyed our evenings relaxing it the cabin. One has to see & stay in the cabin to truly appreciate all that has gone into making this one of the most enjoyable stays away that I have ever taken in before and I will be back hopefully for many more awesome stays......
My husband and I have vacationed in Twain Harte for 30 years and this is by far our favorite cabin. The owner is a master builder and remodeled his cabin for comfort as well as beauty. The cabin is perfect for 2, the large deck is where we relax and eat all of our meals. It is in a wonderfully quiet spot -- a perfect getaway.
I was able to arrange a very last minute trip to the Crane's cabin last weekend to get away from the distractions of the city and get some work done for my PhD. The photos truly don't do this little nugget justice. You really do have to see how spacious they made this cabin. I was alone, but I could easily see how a couple with children or a few friends could stay here for the weekend or longer and have plenty of room to move around in. It was just what I needed for focus and work to get done. Only (minor) complaint is that the shower is a bit too snug for a man of my height. At a little over 6'4, it was not quite as big as I would have liked it, but that is really a personal thing for me, and I understand that it probably functions for the rest of the world all right. Nicely appointed kitchen, basic cable, beautiful deck, charcoal grill, quiet (though I'm sure it may be different in the peak summer/winter months). I also didn't realize they'd have coffee and a bottle of wine waiting. Such a nice touch overall. I may return if I need the focus again.
The Crane's cabin is close to town and it's restaurants, shops, park, golf course and miniature golf.
