Casa da Montanha - Out of the Wild Guesthouses

The Mountain House is 2,000 square feet and has three bedrooms with queen beds, two with private baths, and one bathroom downstairs. Two of the bedrooms have pullout sofa sleepers. The Mt. House has a full kitchen, living room, dining area, and porch with barbecue. There is also a deck attached to the Mountain House.
Out of the Wild Guesthouse offers scenic Denali views in a private hilltop setting with the opportunity to learn about the history of mountain climbing in Alaska.
The entire property, consisting of three separate buildings, can be rented for events.
Enjoy the local performing arts, artist co-op, brewery, and restaurants in the village of Talkeetna, or spend time on the miles of trails, nearby lakes, or Talkeetna River.

We checked in on a rainy, overcast day. The next day was sunny and 70, and the property owner consented to our return so we could see the Denali view we missed and it was SPECTACULAR. Glad we returned. So, on a clear day, you can sit outside on the deck or inside and enjoy a clear view of Denali. The property is decorated in a mash-up of bush pilot, mountain climber, skiing , and Hobbit-house with a Scandinavian flavor. It's clean and well appointed. There are a couple other buildings we didn't access/rent. We were there just one night and this was a neat place to rest. Definitely recommend.

We had a great time at the guesthouse. It is super close to the grocery store in Talkeetna as well as very close to the Talkeetna Air taxi for Glacier tour and has amazing view of Mount Denali! I will definitely be staying here again the next time I’m in Talkeetna. And yes we did find the moose!

Amazing! One person in our party exclaimed that it is the best VRBO that they have ever been in. We were blessed with two clear days for seeing the mountains. Super delightful VRBO!

Spacious rooms. Unique decor. Nestled nicely in the woods with a view of Mount Denali. We were lucky and had a visit from a momma moose and her twin calves. Fantastic host with great communications. Highly recommend to all!

What an amazing visit. We were blessed with three beautiful days with fairly clear views of Denali. We did the wilderness tundra tour at Denali national Park and got to see four out of the five "big five". We spent a full relaxing day at the house and in Talkeetna. The town is beautiful and friendly. Relaxing at the house was its own form of heaven. The more we explored the house, the more we learned of Brian's adventures and what started as a beautiful vacation property became a home that we felt privileged to be able to stay at. Thank you for a wonderful stay- it truly helped shape our Alaskan experience!

First glimpse of Denali

What an incredible piece of property tucked just outside of the mountain town of Talkeetna!The house was very well appointed, and we had everything we needed for a great few days. We saw a moose cow and her calf in the yard from the kitchen window, and caught the peak of Denali before clouds rolled in around 0530 AM our last day there. Brian and his wife are wonderful hosts, and stopped by to personally introduce themselves. There are a few things that could use some maintenance: loose trim, knobs, drawer face, etc. However, I would still rate this house 6 stars if it was possible! Great addition to our Alaskan vacation!

Flying with K2!

We came to fly with our son who is a pilot in the summer for K2. In the winter he lives in Girdwood and is a national ski patroller. What a life! This beautiful place enhanced our stay with its beauty inside and out!

Out of the Wild house

House was clean and ready for our use. The only issue was the bath and shower in the Summit room. I’m surprised someone hasn’t broken they leg getting in and out of it.

Perfect Spot for Family Getaway

Love the views, the layout and decor of the house and all of the functional items we needed for a weekend getaway. We messaged the manager for a Pack and Play for our toddler and they had it at the doorstep in <10 minutes. Great host and great property!

A true gem

Unfortunately the weather gods did not allow the view, but this is a fabulous place in every way. The location is wonderful and sitting outside is serene. The inside is very enjoyable and cozy, still spacious, the kitchen large equipped adequately, and one of those kitchens that has stuff in it to share... and leave some of your stuff in return. Beds are great, etc etc... 6/5

Amazing port in the storm

The weather in Talkeetna was pretty rough while were there but we tried to get out & enjoy the area as much as we could, but it was absolutely delightful to have our out of the wild mountain house to come home to. It was warm, comfortable & spacious!

What an amazing property!

This was a wonderful and unique property that we are still talking about. The views were breathtaking. Beds were comfortable and water pressure and temperature of the showers was blissful! Kitchen was very-well stocked with most everything you could need with one exception....there were not enough spoons! There was an amazing cast iron pan that was perfectly seasoned. The bathrooms had interesting tile work. The master tub/shower was an adventure to get in and out of, but the shower was amazing. The stall shower showerhead location was less than ideal, but the water pressure and temperature were great. The photos on the walls were incredible and we appreciated the postcards provided by the owner. We loved exploring all the unique rooms and appointments throughout the property. There were many interesting conversation pieces! And the decor was charming and different throughout the property. We wish we'd had more time to explore here. I would definitely recommend this property!!

Magnificent

We had a magical time staying at your home. We saw Denali in all its Splendor twice. The perfect place to end our vacation. Unfortunately we had to leave on Saturday since one of the family members came down with Covid. We will definitely return. Many tanks Jackie and Bill

Trip with friends

The mountain house property was awesome! There were 3 couples in our group and the mountain house gave us plenty of room. One of the first mornings we woke up to a pair of moose in the yard. I believe the owner of the property is a climber and the photos he had around the house were spectacular. Although most of our stay the weather was overcast we had one afternoon with a great view of Denali. The property is easy to find and gives easy access to Talkeetna and Denali NP. The care taker and Brian the owner were great and very quick to answer questions. We would definitely book the Mountain House again.
