My family loved our stay! The home had everything we needed plus more. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle board, and fire pit. We rented a pontoon one day and had a great time cruising around the lake- the water is so incredibly clear! We would highly recommend this property and hope to return again.

Awesome property close to Alpine Valley. A lot of great value golf courses nearby. 4 seasons porch is great for cards and conversation.

The water access is perfect for kids or adults alike that like to take a net in to catch small fish, put their watershoes on and just explore. I would consider renting a small boat to actually enjoy the lake and to bring fire starter materials with for your nightly bonfire. It was a nice secluded yard and gorgeous views. It was great for a family of 4.

Red Bench is the perfect place to gather with family and friends. The home is well appointed with everything you need for meal prep, relaxing, or enjoying the water. Sunsets are amazing, and the screened in porch was a great way to start and end the day. There wasn’t a single thing we wished was there that wasn’t. Thanks for a great stay.

What more do you want?

Two families, four adults, kids 6-14. All had an incredible time. Great lake for water games and kayaks and just wading around. Big yard, lots of toys, perfect sunsets, what more do you want?

With most lake properties you don't have the massive back yard space that is present with this home. Beautiful spot for a relaxing get away and nice amenities.

Sweet Lakefront Cottage

My sisters and I loved our time at the cottage. It was incredibly clean, sweetly decorated, and exactly as pictured in the listing. The weather didn’t cooperate during our stay so we weren’t able to enjoy the outdoor spaces, but it’s a beautiful home right on the water and in the summer would be perfect for any gathering. Sara was so kind and accommodating, and quick to respond to any questions I had. Would stay again!

Wonderful Location

The property was clean, Sara (host) had amazing recommendations of places to eat, hike and grab some coffee. There is a lot to do in the area. Nice vacation spot!

Girls Weekend

This was the perfect location for a girls weekend. We stayed in on Friday night. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meal and then we enjoyed hanging out on the screened in porch. Hung out a lot in the living room the rest of the weekend. It’s spacious and cozy! The host checked in with us and I’m sure she would’ve been easily accessible had we needed anything.

A lovely stay!

A group of us stayed here to celebrate a couple birthdays and it was lovely! Sara left some birthday decorations, which was so sweet! The home was clean and thoughtfully curated. There were plenty of water activities in the storage shed, which was super clean too. No spider webs or anything to keep you from wanting to get in there. :) The water is so clean and clear- perfect for wading, swimming, floating, kayaking, etc. It is an all-sports lake, but we weren’t ever bothered by the other lake-goers. We spent our days on the water and our evenings watching the amazing sunsets from the dock and the screened in porch! Just a couple things we thought could have been better. The picturesque views from the photos weren’t quite as nice for us, as there was a large boat docked right next to the red bench. Not a deal breaker, but we were looking forward to some pictures together on the dock and the boat made it difficult. It would also be really nice to add another couch or a couple extra comfy chairs in the living room. It was hard to find a space for all 5 of us to relax together comfortably. Just keep that in mind if you’re coming with a bigger group. Overall, we loved our stay! Thank you!

Perfect Family Vacation Spot!

This home has it all. We had grandkids from ages 3 to 19 with us. They were in the water the whole time we were there. The sandy lake is shallow for quite a ways, so we didn’t have to worry about the littles going out too far. There were plenty of life jackets in various sizes. The paddle board and kayaks were perfect for everyone. Even the 7 year old could kayak! Fishing off the pier in the early evening was a big hit. Our 3 year old caught a tiny little fish :) The house itself is clean and well stocked. The living room is large and the extra folding table was a bonus because it held a lot of our arts and crafts and various things. The host was very nice and available for questions at all times. We had an absolutely wonderful time and all the kids can’t wait to come back again next year.

We had an excellent time at wind lake. I have honestly never seen a place more clean and organized. We really enjoyed sitting out on the porch, swimming with the kids, and biking. Thanks for having us.

Our charming 3 bedroom lakefront home nestled on the shores of Wind Lake has it all!

Wind Lake is a 936+ acre "all-sport" lake. We have our own private pier/sandy lakefront to swim, fish and enjoy the beautiful western-facing sunsets from our signature red bench!

We take great pride in offering a clean, modern and comfortable vacation home for you and your family to stay while enjoying the lake and visiting the surrounding Metro-Milwaukee area.

Our lakefront cottage combines a peaceful and enjoyable "up north" setting yet provides easy access to many attractions in the greater-Milwaukee and Chicago areas.

Perhaps most important is that we work hard to connect with our guests to make sure their stay is memorable and enjoyable! We appreciate you choosing Red Bench Cottage for your vacation!
