This adorable little cabin was perfect for our anniversary trip. We spent a week exploring the area. The hiking was amazing and the views were breathtaking. We would definitely stay here again!
Larry and Adrian, thank you so much for the sweet and thoughtful notes you left for me. And, the beautiful flowers were such a delightful surprise! I'm still smiling!
We had a wonderful stay in July. Linda was a fantastic host and even recommended some events occurring during our stay.
The location was perfect for us to be in the mountains where it's cooler and close to nearby hiking.
We had everything we needed at the cabin and really enjoyed the wildlife around including seeing some flying squirrels.

This was our second time stay at this wonderful cabin which is tucked in the forest with long range mountain views and surrounded by nature. The cabin has everything needed and is very clean. Linda is great to work with. The high elevation and shade in the forest makes for cool summer days.

A little slice of heaven in Tennessee
We could not have asked for a more perfect cabin for our vacation. The location is unbeatable - the views include only mountains and nature - no other homes or lights are visible from the perfect deck, just a spectacular view of the mountains. Hiking and all other attractions are easily accessible and the cabin is extremely comfortable and well appointed. I can't wait to go back.

I'm so pleased that you and your husband enjoyed your stay in the cabin so much!!
Very happy with our stay at the Green Earth Mountain Retreat. Linda is a great welcoming host, she will answer questions about the area and address any concerns right away. Beautiful and cozy, clean and well maintained cabin. Comfortable beds is a big plus. Lovely deck with plenty of room and amazing view of the forest and mountains. We got to observe flying squirrels at the bird feeders after dawn - amazing! Wonderful location as well. Our family enjoyed swimming in the lakes, hiking Roan Mountain trails, and visiting stunning waterfalls near by. Most relaxing two summer weeks we spent!

I am delighted that you and your family had such a wonderful time here in Roan Mountain, and that you all enjoyed your stay at the cabin!
The living room of this cottage looks out, through a wall of glass windows and doors, onto a spacious deck and the distant ridges of Roan Mountain. Overall, it is exceptionally well equipped and furnished. In late July, the air felt cool, fresh and breezy. There are many wonderful hiking trails within easy reach, but the cottage and deck make such an enjoyable retreat to return to. The host, Linda, lives close enough to respond right away to any needs or questions. After an idyllic week's stay, we hope to visit again.
The cabin was pristinely clean. The owner provided extras such as fresh herbs in pots on the deck, which we could cut and use fresh. We appreciated the gallon of fresh apple juice. She provided birdseed and hummingbird sugar water, so we could feed the birds. The birdseed also attracted 3 kinds of squirrels. Peaceful with a lovely view. Extremely close to the AT!

Thank you Paul for your kind words! It means a lot to me that you had such an enjoyable stay!!.
This is a perfect cabin for those looking for great hikes--or just time to chill out on the deck and enjoy the mountain views. The Appalachian Trail is 0.7 miles from the cabin (with limited parking at the trailhead if you prefer to drive). The Roan Highlands are fabulous, especially hiking along the long ridgeline. It's a short drive to Carver's Gap where you can hike the Balds, and Roan Mountain State park has some nice shorter trails.
The cabin is extremely comfortable and well stocked with everything you will need. Linda is an excellent host--don't hesitate to call her if you need anything!

The pictures do not do this place justice! Linda is so kind & thoughtful. It is secluded, incredible views of the mountains, fun interaction with the local wildlife. We want to return!
The cabin is the perfect combination of cozy, super clean, secluded, good quality bedding and linens and fully stocked with everything you might need (including the kitchen if you cook everything like me). My family and I were so impressed we can’t wait to come back in the summertime to enjoy more outdoor activities. The best part was our hostess (landlord) Linda. Her attention to detail and her heartwarming care for us was beyond amazing. She made sure we always had everything we needed and more. Thank you Linda!!!
Cozy & amazing cabin and perfect getaway for couples or family. Kinda was an excellent host for our stay! She really went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations!
We spent a delightful week at The Green Earth Mountain Retreat. The cabin was perfect, immaculately clean, and was stocked with everything needed in support of our stay. Linda was especially helpful in supplying information about the area. We have traveled a lot, and our stay ranks amongst our favorite vacations. And, of course, the rhododendron and flame azaleas were spectacular on Roan Mountain.

Wonderful stay! Definitely coming back!
This cabin is going to change your mind about staying at hotels in the future! I loved everything about it: location, cleanliness, amenities, functionality; I can honestly count this vacation among the best in my life!
We hiked the Appalachian Trail every day, enjoyed the blackberries and blueberries everywhere on the mountain, the views are breathtaking, and I am planning on coming back during the rhododendron season, to really get a complete experience of this heavenly place. I am writing this review a week after our stay here, and my mind is still there, is hard to take it out of your brain!
Thank you Ms Linda for all the love you put in everything. Keep in touch:)

OUR KIND OF PLACE
THIS IS OUR KIND OF
PLACE
This is our kind of place up on the side of
the mountain all by ourselves, where all we
hear is the brook below, an occasional tweet
of the birds, and the leaves rustling from
the cool mountain breeze.
It is where all we see is the lush green
rolling mountain ridges, so awe-inspiring
and inviting.
It is a place of peace and solitude which
brings comfort to our souls -- nothing but
pure nature to soak up, an escape from the
stresses of civilization, and the freedom to
meditate on one !s own thoughts without the
distractions of the world.
What joy this kind of place provides. A real
treasure.
