Tiny Tasteful 1

This space is a delightful mix of beauty, comfort, and location. We keep an immaculate, cozy home perfectly nestled near the best Austin has to offer.

This small studio has plenty of large windows, outside wooden deck, beautiful garden area, comfy bed (extra linens), bathroom necessities (fresh towels and toiletries), flat screen HD TV with Netflix and Apple TV (need your login for Apple TV) and high speed internet/wifi.

Walkable to Clarksville restaurants (The Tavern, Austin Land & Cattle Company (ALC), Wink, La Volta Pizza Club, Cipollina, Josephine House, Jeffery's, Swedish Hill, Clark's Oyster Bar, Pecan Square Café, Lin Asian Bar and Dim Sum), Cafe Medici (coffee house), grocery stores (Fresh Plus and Whole Foods), convenience stores, gym & yoga studios (Castle Hill Fitness), dry cleaners (Reid's), as well as various neighborhood parks (Pease Park).

Other details to note: Not for guests who want to party. No parties or excessive noise; No loud noise after 9 pm weekdays and 10 pm weekends (residential area). Please be mindful as loud sounds can easily disturb other guests and/or neighbors.

No kitchen. There is a small refrigerator, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, French press and hot plate.

Early check-in: Generally guests check-out and then we need several hours to sparkle and clean the apartment. Generally, you can check-in early after 11:30 am, as long as you know that the space will probably not yet be clean.

Late check-out: If no guests are checking-in on the day that you leave, you can usually have a late check-out at 11 am. Otherwise, we will need to start cleaning to be ready for the next guests.

Bag drop: You are always welcomed to drop you bags off early or leave them to pick up later in the day (if so contact us beforehand so that we can make arrangements).

Parking: Unfortunately there's no dedicated parking space. The only parking is on the street (free), but usually there is plenty of space and it has not been a problem. If you have any problem just let us know.

Getting Around: Although we recommend renting a car if you are planning on traveling outside of Austin, there are many ways of getting around central Austin:
· Ride shares (Lyft, Uber) (few people use taxis anymore in Austin).
· Dockless electric bikes, scooters, and mopeds (Bird, Lime, Wheels, etc.).
· Austin MetroBike (bike share that uses docking stations - less popular than the dockless options).
· CapMetro (Austin's public transportation, but it is not popular).

Awesome in Austin

This is a very cozy, homey, lovely spot to land. Really lovely neighborhood in a historic district with very cool homes. Good home-base to work from, and the little terrace/patio right outside was a great place to chill and get some fresh air. Very comfortable bed, powerful shower, and helpful contact from the owners.

Just the right size

The property was lovingly maintained with a comfortable outdoor area for each unit. I would suggest adding a Keurig coffee maker to the amenities. Not everyone knows how to use a French press!

Just Perfect

This little apartment was just perfect for me. I loved the location and didn't think it was "walkable"at first, as I took the bus from the airport and walked up the hill from 12th and Lamar with my luggage. Whew! Now that was hike up a hill. (Always remember that you are in Hill Country!!) However, the next day I walked to breakfast in the other direction and it was an easy enjoyable walk. The apartment had all of the amenities that I required. Well stocked for a small meal and lots of equipment for a great cup of coffee, or two. It was so quiet and had lovely views out the windows. The weather did not allow me to enjoy the little private patio. The furnishings are dated, but comfortable. I did not experience any unfortunate surprises from this listing. The pictures are telling-what you see is what you get. I usually stay closer to downtown on South Congress. This was a nice change. I would recommend this listing.

This spot was all we needed for a weekend in Austin. Scooters make it easy to get around so location ended up working out fine! Comfortable, clean and no frills- perfect for a long weekend!

Kinda creepy, definitely not clean or comfortable

It was all ok ish, if it had been cheaper I would write a slightly kinder review but for what we paid it should have been a nicer accommodation. After a week in the Austin area, multiple stays, and Lots of restaurants/bars, this is my only non 5 star review so please don’t think I’m “that guy”. The listing notes that the property is “immaculately” clean and has a very comfortable queen bed…. No and no… The biggest issue is this is a basement, it smells musty, and moldy. To cover that up the cleaning staff is using horribly strong sent oil that made my wife have an allergic reaction. They also used such harsh cleaning chemicals that you could smell the sting of over spray. And after all that, it wasn’t clean let alone immaculate… The bathroom had mold/mildew, the floors are dirty… nah. The bed is horribly uncomfortable and squeaky, the pillows are also very uncomfortable. The shower is to small to turn around in and has no light, moldy and mildewed. There is no normal coffee maker (French press and espresso machine are both disappointing) - which is noted in the listing but still, man it’s over $200 a night, put a Mr. coffee maker in the place… Lastly, importantly and not at all mentioned in the listing, is that there is a stairway with just a glass door leading directly into this apartment connecting it to the main house. It’s not private, it’s not cozy, it’s actually super creepy - I always specifically look to make sure the places I rent are not set up this way when traveling with my family - if this had been noted I wouldn’t have booked it. I will say the porch area is very cute, but not private at all. The neighborhood is also very nice. For the money, it was poorly done, dirty, uncomfortable and kinda creepy. There is no way I’d stay here again. I hope management/owner uses this info to improve the property and provide a better value/experience for future short term tenants.

Great stay!

This was the perfect property and stay. Austin was great and this property provided us everything we were looking for. Quiet, great location, and no problem with parking on the street. We plan to stay here again on our next visit.

Great location

Chet and Sunni’s place was great. Centrally located within the awesome Castle Hill neighborhood, but we never had an issue with the on-street parking. We have stayed at a lot of rental properties, but this was our first time staying at a unit attached to the owner’s property. It was not an issue - we saw them once in passing but they kept to themselves and check-in was contactless! Their place was well-stocked, and we appreciated having a washer/dryer and a comfy bed! Highly recommended

Excellent place!

There are no surprises here! You get exactly what is listed and then some.. I have stayed in several Airbnb's and VRBO properties..I was so impressed with all the "extras" this owner provided..from masks and hand sanitizer to shaving cream, sunscreen and bug spray. The place was immaculately clean. Definitely recommend!!

Great location

Very nice place. This was basement apartment. Only sink was in bathroom. One window covering was missing so one could look right in on daybed from outside. There were board games, aFrench Press, and snacks. There was enough coffee for only one of two days, but snacks were a nice offering. There were a few long hairs from a head under the made bed. Overall, we were happy, and I’d stay there again.

Very quirky apartment! Very clean and great location.

We really enjoyed the outdoor area. The apartment was a little quirky - hot water heater in bathroom. But overall, it was very fun. Beautiful neighborhood. The apartment is a basement apartment with walkout to patio area. Very clean.

Great for young(ish) travelers

Everything was great, the host is very responsive, friendly and accommodating, we are absolutely happy with our stay. It IS easy to walk to some of the major attractions, but it's not "just next door", and we always preferred to uber it back to the house after dark. The neighborhood, however, is nice, quiet and beautiful.

Nice weekend away

The place was great! Very clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. I liked the tile floors and stucco walls. Two details that are not clear in the photos that might be difficult for some visitors: the path from the street to the property is steep and narrow, and the entrance to the bathroom is up two steep steps. The place is in a very nice neighborhood, and very comfortable. The one detail that is not cute is the water heater in the bathroom.
