VRBO info did not include instructions on how to unlock front door (code.) Had to contact owner. Home was very cold the first 24 hrs - assume heat was turned on at the last minute. This is a 3 bedroom with a twin in the hall.

Relaxing Mermaid Escape

We spent a week staying in this bungalow. It is cute, cozy & a great place to relax! It is a short walk to the beach & promenade which we did at least daily. We really enjoyed learning the “Dread Pirate” game in the game room & spending time around the outdoor gas fire pit in the early morning or eve. We had a great week staying here!

Relaxing fun stay

The house is nicely located. Nice short walk to beach. close to the little market for supplies and the little bar/restaurant. coffee shop has delicious coffee. My son and grandson walked over and played a round golf. Did the annual fire on the beach, arcade in Seaside, fed the sealions at the aquarium. We enjoyed watching the Goonies on DVD, I had never seen it so we had to watch it. The hot tub was a hit its small but very functional. We had a fun time and enjoyed the house. I almost forgot my pup enjoyed the yard and her time at the beach as well.

This is an amazing property! The interior is comfortable and met every need we had. The door locks are simple combination keyless locks. The kitchen was spacious and easy to work in with lots of pots and pans. There are several different conversation areas where visitors can gather to eat, watch tv, play games or whatever. Our grandkids found lots of toys to play with and never touched the ones we brought from home. It is just a 5-7 minute walk to the beach with a store and great restaurants on the way. We had a few questions during our stay which the homeowner answered very quickly. We would love to visit this property again!

Great location

Loved where this home was located - convenient to everything. The house is big with several rooms so you get some privacy. The game room is filled with books and games. The back yard was huge and private, with great foliage. The home needs a good cleaning and some upkeep, but was a comfortable place to stay. Until it got hot and then the upper floor was miserable. Bring your own towels and cleaning supplies.

Overall unhappy. Notified 2 days to arrival that the owners would be staying the entire week on the property. There is a converted garage that they stay in at the end of the driveway. With short notice, there was no where in town to take us. In addition, the house was dirty. Hand prints on the walls, cob webs on every light, multiple rugs in each room which was a tripping hazard for elderly parents, hot tub filter was disgusting, mold in the bathroom, broken bed, broken stove handle, and broken dryer handle.

Roomy and cute house

Good location right next to the golf course and easy walking distance to the beach. Backyard isn't totally fenced but is a nice space for lounging on the deck around the fire pit.. Hot tub was surprisingly great for how small it is. Mattresses need to be upgraded...not very comfortable. Wifi would only work for about five minutes and then cut out, but we weren't here to watch TV or be on the internet so no big deal for us. Lots of books and games and a great space to play board games or do puzzles. Overall a nice spacious place to stay for our family of 4 and furry boy.

Staying at the Mermaid Escape

Our family enjoyed our stay at the mermaid escape. There was a lot of space for our whole family. There were a couple of things that need to be improved. The tub upstairs should have a mat in the tub. My family almost fell a few times. The other shower doesnt have a door and water was always spilling all over the floor. The refrigerator didn't close all of the way. So a lot of the time our food was staying cold. Overall I would give this a 7 out of 10. Thebest part was only being a couple blaocks from the beach. It was so great to get up everyday and go walk on the beach.

Labor Day Gathering #45

Our group of friends has been sharing a Labor Day weekend gathering for 45 years. Most of that was backpacking in Oregon and Washington, along with some camping. With age and changing capacities and tastes, we've transitioned to housed events. This house was perfect with beds for all, and a variety of nice indoor and outdoor spaces to accommodate our activities (and lack of activity).The style and décor was comfortable and hospitable, presumably expressive of the hosts, yet allowing us to pretend we lived there for a few days. We enjoyed the art. Would've loved to have more time, for instance, to enjoy the library and yard. Had a little trouble with some of the instructions and might request a little more coaching next time.

Great house and super cozy. Perfecto for families with children. The only negativo things I noticed is that the downstairs bedroom is a bit stuffy and the glass door in the downstairs bathroom offer no privacy. Otherwise, the place is wonderful, full of art and very clean, near a lot of things including a restaurant.

Relaxing stay

I Loved this home and was a perfect getaway. I felt very relaxed, it was within walking distance to the beach. If I hauled my chairs I would drive and park. The locsl market was well stocked and sold some regional wines, they were super helpful. We ate at Bell Bouy and also bought fresh crab at a reasonable rate. The location was convenient and the owners were helpful.

Tired of the city life, the young surfing family simply desired a small coastal surfing community to call home. The town of Seaside, Oregon called out to them and in the Fall of 2000 they left the city forever along with their three young boys. Lynnet having been in Property Management and Brian in Hospitality Food Service, both secured good jobs in the Tourist Industry and were able to buy their Seaside Home in June of 2001. The cute 1941 beach bungalow was the perfect home to raise their boys. Over the next ten years, with a lot of hard work, creativity, talent and some financial help by the rapidly increasing home equity value, together they transformed the home into the beauty that it is today! Brian and Lynnet now own a Construction Company while Brian also owns a Surf Board Manufacturing business. All 3 sons are grown up and living their own lives, . Brian and Lynnet are empty nesters ready to take on a NEW adventure with their French Bulldog Louis. This is where the idea was born to share their home with other families or individuals that have the same dream they did over 20 years ago. This way they can keep the home in the family, and one day hope to fill it with new memories, with the boys and their families. But for now, it is their dream to build Brian's Surf Board Business by promoting him in other coastal communities. When in Seaside we stay in our little unattached private Cottage behind the Mermaid Escape.

We are located in the Cove n of neighborhood of Seaside just blocks from the Beach, Golf Course. We have a neighborhood grocery store and several eateries all just blocks from the South End of the Seaside Promenade which takes you all the way through the Town of Seaside along the beachfront.
