About Rebecca Fine

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I bought this house back in 1992. My family and I have been coming up here since my kids were babies. This cabin has so many memories and this location is our favorite in all of Colorado! There is nothing else like the Mountains in this area. My family and I can be found camping, backpacking, fishing, riding horses, running, biking and hiking in our free time-- all of which we do a lot here in Grand Lake. I am excited to open our house up for all of our guests to see and enjoy this part of Colorado and all the outdoorsy things that Grand Lake has to offer.

Rebecca Fine purchased this house in 1992

Why Rebecca Fine chose Grand Lake

I bought this home 23 years ago because my family and I love the outdoors, and we love Colorado. This house is in the perfect location to get to all the hiking spots, fishing spots, skiing resorts (Granby Ranch and Winter Park) hiking trails throughout the Rocky Mountain National Park and Arapahoe National Forest) biking and snowmobile trails within minutes! . Or go into town and shop, browse art galleries, or the local museum, eat at the many restaraunts, listen to live music at the park, rent a boat or kayak on Grand Lake or attend a production at the new Repertoire Theatre. Of course hiking, fishing and attending the many offerings at the nearby RMNP visitor center and viewing wildlife. We also bought this home to just come up and relax. We also love to make the fire, play games, and roast smore's on those cold or rainy days.

What makes this house unique

This area is one of a kind. The neighborhood is bordered by Arapahoe National Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park. Both are so incredible with the combination of the wildlife and the incredible mountains and scenery. There are so many camping spots all around this area in case you want to get out and be under the stars. This house is right across the street (literally) from the Grand Lake Golf Course. The house is located in the private community of Columbine Lake. Another positive aspect of this house is the fact that it is located 5 minutes away from the quaint and fun town of Grand Lake. If you are craving the legendary Grand Lake Chocolate's ice cream, fear not, it's only a 5 minute drive away! Because this house is so close to Grand Lake, one can also go hang out at the beach at Grand Lake quite easily and fast. The paddle boarding, fishing, and arcade playing (at the Grand Lake dock.)

Felt like home away from home! The cabin was decorated with items reminding you of the outdoors!

  • 5 of 5

Rebecca was very helpfully from the beginning our stay to the end. The cabin was fully stocked with everyday items you need to enjoy your stay. All you need to bring is clothes and food. We saw lots of wildlife around town and in RMNP...but the best part was the deer and moose walking through the front yard! The front deck of the cabin was a great spot to hang out in the afternoon after long days of adventuring in the area! We had an amazing time in Grand Lake and we would definitely stay at Rebecca's cabin again.

Owner's Response: Chris- it makes us happy to hear that you loved "our" place and felt at home. Thank you for the wonderful pics! I passed them on to the "kids" (31, 26, and 22) they loved them. Thank you for sharing. It warms our heart to hear about your stay and know that our little piece of heaven can be shared and enjoyed with your family too. Thanks for being amazing guests!

Cabin was everything you could hope for. No need to worry about the small amenities. It was all taken care for you. Location was perfect, just minutes from downtown Grand Lake. We even saw moose just a few feet off the road. Thank you again for wonderful carefree stay!

Quaint cabin in a quiet community, right outside wonderful Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Pk

  • 4 of 5

Our family had an epic hiking adventure in the Rockies based out of this lovely cabin.

We loved the outdoor theme with the cute canoes and outdoor prints throughout . Located on the quieter side of the park was a plus for us as the trails were not as crowed with people. The cabin itself was well appointed with all the essentials needed and allowed us to easily have dinner and breakfast at home with a modern kitchen. This really makes vacationing with a family more comfortable and affordable. The fireplace was warm in the cool evenings. Plenty of sleeping spots. Got to appreciate seeing the dear family that called the community lake home every day. There were some finishing touches in progress in the cabin, but we hardly noticed.

Also Got to see the grazing elk herds in Kawunechee valley Meadows which is so close by on a few evenings.. seems to be regular event. Loved the lake experience in town; too bad we were not allowed use of the community lake.

Overall, would definitely recommend this for a small family who loves the outdoors ; just outside the national park and away from the hustle and bustle of Estes Park but still close to a small town experience.

Hosts were very nice and informative, also let us enjoy our vacation in peace. Thanks !

Property was clean and location excellent.

  • 3 of 5

The pictures and descriptions were a little deceiving. There are two bedrooms not three. The “futon” and single bed are actually bunk beds. And they are in the downstairs family room.

The furnishings are outdated but still functional. The bathrooms and kitchen are nicely updated.

There were quite a few stairs which impacted my mom who is older and has bad knees. Add to that the railing to the basement was only half attached.

Good points include a good neighborhood, deer that did visit one morning, and easy access to Grand Lake.

It was worth the inexpensive price but I don’t think I would use it again. There are many more properties in better shape.

Wonderful house for families w/ older kids. Our teenagers & friends enjoyed the finished basement area. Location can’t be beat for entrance into Rocky Mountain National Park. Great owner too.
