Basic but functional and good location

This is a basic little house but had everything we needed for a little beach getaway. I was a bit worried reading the other reviews but it was clean. The decor and appliances are old but functional. It was a good base/place to sleep as we spent most of our time at the beach/on day trips and ate out at the many restaurants and cafes on offer nearby. The shops, beaches and marina are easy walking distance. The property managers were friendly and it was easy to check in and out. There’s no wifi (noting it’s not advertised to have wifi but it’s something most of us take for granted these days.) All in all I’d recommend for a pet friendly, family friendly basic beach accommodation.

Feedback on property at 19 Nelson Street, Nelson Bay

Property was poorly managed, There were dust and cobwebs everywhere, not properly cleaned. There were no fans in bedroom 2 and 3 and it was difficult for the kids to sleep in the hot weather. The curtains were old and looked that they haven't been washed in years. The dining chairs were peeling off. The house didn't have fresh air circulation. If the house will be managed properly it would be a nice place to stay.

Nelson Bay stat

Convenient location, short walk to shops and beach. Basic accommodation with basic amenities. Main TV did not work, floor throughout dirty, cobwebs, yellow stained pillows and dirty outdoor furniture. Overall not worth the price and would not stay there again.

Run as far as you can

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overpriced for what you get. I’m okay with older style but the state that this house was in is unacceptable. It smelled of fish. There were cobwebs, dirt and grime everywhere. Stained mattress, dirty cutlery, dishwasher was mouldy. Couches were destroyed. An absolute disaster of a house.

Very disappointing accommodation

This property has a good location, The property was filthy. Definitely wouldn’t meet the current Covid-19 regulations. Carpets never vacuumed, mattresses dirty, lounge needs pest spray or completely replacing. Windows don’t have functioning locks, air con major health hazard.

Good

The house was fantastic and located very centrally but away from the crush. We really enjoyed the stay and were very comfortable. The only drawback is the awful sofa bed in the spare room and if that was replaced we would gladly book again.

Pest control needed

The garden needed to be cleaned, mowed and weeded. Needed pest control as there were cockroaches inside and numerous spiders outside.
