Overall, disappointed!
Overall, our stay was disappointing. Apartment was clean with close access to trains but host never bothered to tell us the place was located right in the middle of Korea Town which is not what we would want for a once in a lifetime stay in Toyko! Check in was terrifying after 20 hours of travel as the host neglected to inform us the key lock code was changed. Lots of difficulty regulating the heat and host was not as helpful with that as we would have expected. Never responded when we said we could not find the washing machine which after several days, we realized was literally outside the apartment so we never fetl good about using it. When I first booked the place, I was very impressed with the communication with the host but that went downhill after payment was made in full and was not refundable. We expected more help and hospitality from the host being nervous travelers from the US and after hearing how accomodating the Japanese are. Hearing the wonderful experiences other folks we knew traveled into Toyko for the marathon as well, we soon realized we had made a mistake by booking the place we did. We would not stay at this location if we were ever to travel to Japan again.
