This was our second stay at this ocean cottage. Again, we thoroughly enjoyed our week vacation. Scott is a great host and the location, cleanliness and overall condition of the cottage was wonderful.
The house is perfect. It has everything you need for your stay. It is conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was priceless.
Excellent. We rented here for a week last May ‘24 and loved it. Four nights this time. Great view of the water directly out the back door. Cottage is well equipped and maintained. Quiet area but it’s off season. We expect to come back.
My family and I had a fantastic time during our stay. This was a wonderful home that was exactly as advertised. Clean and up to date, with beautiful views of the water and the seals and sea lions in the morning. Very convenient location that was within walking distance to restaurants and stores. Owner was very easy to get a hold of and responded quickly to any questions I had. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great place to stay.
We had such a great stay and enjoyed being able to commute into Boston to see the attractions. Scott was a great host and we would definitely like to stay again!
My husband and I really loved your home! It was everything we needed!
Sadly, I missed taking my hair dryer and rollers ☹
If you could send them it would be greatly appreciated.

We enjoyed an absolutely perfect week at this home. The views were incredible. The home is impeccable with all the amenities. We felt so comfortable staying there. The location and hosts are great. Looking forward to next year.
This was a wonderful stay at a beautiful property with amazing views. Going to sleep to the sound of the waves was lovely. Scott was communicative and helpful. Only wish I could have stayed longer. We hope to stay here again.
An awesome place to stay. The pictures and descriptions were accurate. Would recommend to anyone. Outstanding communication with owner and manager. Wish we could give 6 stars!

A little bit of heaven
The view is outstanding. The house is comfortable and immaculate. I didn't want to leave!
Our second week at the Dixon cottage was even more relaxing than the first! We love everything about this property....location, updates, cleanliness, charm, amenities, location, communication with owner, location, etc. Looking forward to rented again next year!
The house is very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the view is beautiful, the sound of the ocean soothing and we even had the treat of seeing seals in the water and sunning on nearby rocks. We were looking for a place to take a break and catch our breath before the holidays and this was the perfect place to do it.

Beautiful Home & Amazing View
Thanks again to Scott for letting us stay in his wonderul home once again!!! The house is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need in a rental home. The furniture, beds, and decor are excellent and make you feel right at home. Can't recommend this home highly enough and Scott is always available to assist if you have any issues.
We had a very enjoyable visit! The house is fully stocked with kitchen items, towels, and bed linens. The eastern view of the ocean is amazing and it's relaxing to watch the tide come in and out over the rocks from the deck and large windows. Walk just two blocks to the lovely Fairview Inn restaurant - the clam chowder is excellent. The owner is friendly and very responsive.

Brilliant!
We recently stayed here with our little girl( 16 months) and it was a brilliant base for our holiday. It has been done to a high standard and we aren't disappointed!! Waking to see the sea views was lovely. It is also great that there are amenities locally too both within walking distance and nearby marsh field. We would defiantly recommend the house and we would stay here again!!

Beautiful home, perfect location!
This home has been impeccably remodeled to retain the original cottage charm while incorporating every modern convenience. It is located in a quiet, friendly community – far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city to relax but close enough to go sightseeing. We loved the multitude of windows so the beautiful ocean view was visible from almost anywhere inside. The house was very clean, beds comfortable and the kitchen was lacking nothing. The owner was easy to work with and followed up after we checked in to make sure we found everything we needed and didn’t have any questions or concerns. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this home to others.

Paradise on the South Shore
What a gem! This house is beautiful and location cannot be beat. Located close to Cape and Boston, yet far enough from each with its own laid back, low key vibe. House is in Brant Rock section of town, sitting atop the seawall that overlooks Cape Cod Bay and beyond. The views alone were worth every penny but the house is beautiful, too. Newly renovated and tastefully decorated, it has everything you need. Highlights include the kayak (for renters to use), hammock, ocean breezes, and kitchen. Easy walk to "downtown" if you want to grab good seafood or breakfast. We will be back!!
If you are on the fence in regards to booking this property, do it. You won't be disappointed. We were quite pleased with the quaint charm this beach house has to offer. It's located in a quiet, beautiful community right on the ocean. The views were stunning on our morning walks. Scott was excellent to deal with. His instructions for our arrival/departure were very clearly communicated and he was expeditious in his responses. There were so many things on our itinerary that we were not able to do because of time constraints, but we'll be back. When we do, we'll be staying here again. Thank you Scott for an excellent experience.
Hi Scott, I was pleasantly surprised upon entering your house in Brant Rock at what a lovely home you've made there for your guests. The house was spotlessly clean, nicely appointed and offered all the comforts of home . . . plus++++. Your location right on the ocean front didn't disappoint. I just happened to visit during a storm coming in from the North with super high tides (full moon), howling winds and rough pounding seas. It was a thrill. Once the storm passed, the surf and wind continued to be whipped up on the wild side. It was rugged stunning beauty at the dawning of each day with atmosphere, colors and reflections on the surf changing by the moment. I'm an artist and couldn't have asked for more.
The fact that, at this time of year, there is no water/beach access directly in front of your house was not a detraction for me at all. But for anyone coming to stay here with kids, it might be. However, there are plenty of beaches nearby if one is interested in beach walking. Duxbury Beach Park (open to the public) is a beautiful and safe beach that kids will love even in the winter. Marshfield Town Beaches are all open during the winter and accessible. Maybe there are temporary beach stickers available for town beaches during the summer for vacationers. (?) Something to check out.
Just a heads up for anyone with mobility issues. You'll have to be able to navigate 15 steps up to get into the house.
The Brant Rock Market is a short drive away. I liked the neighborhood vibe and the fact that they offer some locally crafted goods and have a deli where you can get sandwiches and the stuff to take out.
Within walking distance from the house is the Fairview Restaurant and just a bit further down the road are other "local" restaurants to check out.
Brant Rock has some interesting history to its name too, including The Brant Rock Tower and the The First Transatlantic Telephonic Transmission.
I'd recommend this place to friends in an instant.
Thanks Scott
an aside:
Scott, there was one thing that bothered me though. There was an industrial smell of some sort in the kitchen. I have a feeling it might be the polish/solvent used to clean the stainless steel appliances. Not sure though but it didn't diminish over the time of my visit. I lit some candles to try to cover it up. It's a minor point but it was notable.

About the host
Hosted by scott dixon
My great grandfather had this home built in 1924 as a seasonal vacation home. It largely stayed in that condition, with minor improvements over the years, until 2015 when I embarked upon a major renovation. I inherited the property in 2006 and will try to keep it in the family for years to come.
Why they chose this property
Incredible location right on the water on a quiet section of Ocean Street, yet still walkable to the village restaurants, grocery store, fish store, liquor store and church.
What makes this property unique
Rocky shore in front insures a level of privacy, yet sandy beaches are a short walk away.
