About Kelsey Meyers
Hello, my name is Kelsey and I am a stay at home mother of four. We are a farm family who love living the country life and spending time outdoors. My husband, Steve, is a fourth-generation farmer and has the privilege of not only farming with his father but with our kids as well. It is a lifestyle that we are so grateful for. I grew up in Red Wing, MN, and loved everything about living in a small town. Steve and I met in 2007 and married in 2011 and have now grown to a family of six. Nine, if you include our 2 dogs Ike and Rivit and cat, Chandler Bing. We love to travel as much as we can although with our busy lives it is not always possible. We particularly enjoy Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. Spending the day on the lake fishing and swimming with the kids is one of our favorite things to do in the summer. I also enjoy reading, hiking, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing, baseball, antiquing, playing cards, baking, cooking and trying new things (especially new foods).
Kelsey Meyers purchased this Farmhouse in 2018
Why Kelsey Meyers chose Cannon Falls
Our farmhouse is surrounded by 100+ acres of our beautiful farmland. When we purchased the property from a family member, I immediately had the idea of renting it out for short term rental. I absolutely love the farmhouse and all of the stories that it has to tell. I just love to dust and clean all of the old woodwork and the gorgeous original built-in buffet and think of how grand it must have all seemed when it was built over 100 years ago. When deciding to rent out the farmhouse I knew that I wanted to make it a family-friendly environment. With a family as large as ours it is very difficult to travel anywhere. Not only the logistics of where to stay comfortable but also trying to pack everything. When furnishing this house I had families in mind. I take pride in caring for this beautiful farmhouse and I want others to enjoy it as much as I do.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
As soon as you arrive at our farm you will immediately notice the gorgeous views in every direction. If you are looking for a quiet place to spend a few days this is it. There are views of rolling farmland during the day and an absolutely breathtaking look at the stars at night. One of my absolute favorite features of the house is the sun porch just off of "Marcella's Room". This room is a true sun porch in that it is not heated but once that sun comes rolling in it warms up really quickly. I recommend grabbing your warm cup of coffee and heading to the sun porch to watch the sunrise or just enjoy the view. If you are lucky you might even see our resident bald eagle who likes to swoop around the fields looking for his next meal. Sometimes I am not even sure if he is hungry. I think he just likes to play with whatever he finds in the field that day. If you are lucky he might put on a show for you.
