Peace and tranquillity
My husband and I loved our week at this property. It was quiet, tranquil and beautiful. This little home away from home had everything we needed for comfort. The views of the lake and the wildlife (deer, woodpeckers, hummingbirds and other little creatures) were amazing. We found some much needed peace by the lake.
Rich was easy to work with and the property is as advertised. We hit a week of unseasonably high temps and travel with fans but there are fans in the home. Tons of closet space and plenty of hangers which was a nice surprise! The back screened in porch is a great place to listen to the water and feel the breeze.
Little slice of heaven
The property and waterfront access is magical. A true piece of paradise. Everything one would expect from a Door County rental. Thanks Rich and Carolyn for sharing!
Aweful encounter with owner and chose not to stay. Booked somewhere else while I was standing in the driveway.
This is Rich Sommer. My wife and I own and manage the It's All About the Lakeshore cottage in Door County. There are always two sides to a story.
I remember Sarah making the request for a reservation. I always talk to all potential guests on the phone. When I talked to Sarah on the phone I went through a few basic question. I asked, "How many for the four guests smoke." This is how I remember the response and conversation. The response was "Nobody will smoke inside." I said " We only rent to people who do not smoke at all." After a few more exchanges I said " I am sorry we can not do business." I thought that was the end of the relationship. We never received the application and the written agreement was never completed.
On the day of the requested reservation, Sarah contacted me said she was at the property and requested the entry code. I explained that the agreement was never completed and said again that we only rent to people who do not smoke at all. I said I would give her the code and trust that there would be no smoking in the cottage. Sarah made it clear to me she was not happy with the situation and scheduled different accommodations. Her payment was refunded by VRBO. Thank you for reading the response.
Great place to get away!
The cottage is spacious and clean. The fire pit area became one of our favorite spots, especially at night to stargaze. Out of the hustle and bustle of tourist areas, but a quick drive to favorite spots made it an ideal location. View of the lake is lovely.
It simply couldn’t be more inviting.
Come, sit, relax and be transported by the primal life force sounds and sights of Lake Michigan. Create memories. No Hours, no Days.
