The cabin was beautifully decorated, everything we needed to make our stay complete. The balcony was perfect to unwind at night, watch fireworks from Dollywood. We will definitely rebook in the near future.
Our family of 4 couldn’t have had a better experience. There was plenty of room to relax and enjoy the Mountain View. Knowing after long days that we had a clean cozy place to call home for a week made our trip everything we wanted and more!
Romantic cabin with beautiful view
My husband and I went on our honeymoon to Myrtle Beach and decided last minute that we wanted to stay a few nights in Gatlinburg on the way back home to Cincinnati... we booked a couple days before our arrival and Joel got back to us immediately.
The amenities at the cabin were perfect for our extended honeymoon and the view was absolutely stunning. One night we had bad weather (news was talking about tornado watch) and I messaged them to ask about safety precautions (I'm a whimp when it comes to storms! Lol) and Brandy called me and reassured me we would be fine but also gave us options to feel safer, if needed.
My ONLY suggestions is bring an iron and ironing board - we were going out to a nice dinner and they didn't have one, so our clothes were more wrinkled than we preferred.
I highly recommend this for any couple looking to get away, or a small family. The views are well worth it and the owners are awesome. We're already talking about a trip back!
Amazing cabin with stunning views
My fiancé and I had a spectacular time at the Sugar Bear. We arrived late at night and didn’t have too much trouble finding the cabin in the dark. We did have the same GPS issue, but you pretty much just need to go around the loop and find the street that says “Fox Berry Way Ext”. The drive up the mountain wasn’t too bad; lots of narrow twists and turns but nothing too steep for our little sedan to have problems with. In the Winter I would definitely recommend 4 wheel drive just in case there is snow, but we had no problems in the Summer. It does take a bit of a drive to get to, but that’s to be expected when you have a view as amazing as this cabin shares. Upon arrival, the cabin was very clean. The only dust I noticed was on the window blinds but that didn’t really bother me. The bed was fairly comfortable, and the sheets were clean which was my biggest worry. The shower was a little hard to figure out at first because I haven’t used a shower like that before. You have to pull down on the knob that’s under the faucet for the shower to turn on. Took me about 10 minutes to figure that out but that’s ok =) The whirlpool tub was very big; bigger than the ones I’ve used in other cabins near the Smokies. Plenty of space for two people. The hot tub on the deck was amazing as well. We really enjoyed sitting in it at night looking at the distant views. I also enjoyed sitting on the rocking chair in the morning looking out into the mountains with a cool breeze. The view from this cabin is 110% worth the 15 minute drive up the winding mountain and totally worth the price. Pictures really don’t do any justice, you need to experience it for yourself. It’s fairly close to where you would want to be (Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, etc) We also we’re lucky enough to see some wild bears not too far from our cabin while taking a walk one day. That was awesome! I would love to stay here again if we come back to the Smokies. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous cabin with us!
Great cabin with great views!
The cabin was perfect for our family of three. Great location and amenities. Thanks for sharing the Sugar Bear Cabin with us!
Cozy cabin with gorgeous views that did not disappoint! Perfect for two!
My husband and I stayed at the Sugar Bear for our 15th anniversary. This was our first experience staying in a cabin so we were a bit apprehensive about what we would find, but it turned out to be an excellent decision! Everything was just like it was described and pictured - no surprises. The view from the deck was outstanding! We loved using the deck space (hot tub, rocking chairs, and table/chairs) and everything was well-maintained. It was so peaceful! The cabin was clean (outside of some dust and cobwebs here and there and fingerprints and smudges on the glasses) and it had all the amenities we needed. The cell signal was strong, but the wifi wasn't as fast as we are used to. During our stay, a storm came through that took out power (which also takes out the water) for about 2 1/2 hours. We notified the owners and they were quick to respond, calling the proper authorities and keeping us informed of the situation. If we could make a few minor recommendations, they would be to have flashlights and candles available (and maybe even bottled water) for power outages, have a larger TV in the bedroom, require a more thorough level of dusting from their housekeeping, and strengthen the wifi. Those are very small details, though, and nothing that would keep us from highly recommending this cabin or returning in the future. This cabin provided a beautiful space for relaxation, reconnecting, and making long-lasting memories. We loved it!
Only minutes from dollywood, pigeon forge, gatlinburg, and the great smoky mountain national park.
