If you’re looking for a beautiful and cozy home away from home, this is it. Nestled in the village, walking distance to the lake and restaurants and shops. It’s perfect and the kitchen functions like your own.
Charming house and perfect in town location! We stayed here for Syracuse University graduation weekend. Was a wonderful break from staying on campus and the hustle and bustle of the weekend. The house was exactly as described - renovated and super charming. Downtown Cazenovia had some wonderful shops and places to grab coffee before heading to ‘Cuse. It’s always a struggle to find a nice place to stay when visiting the university- this house checked all the boxes. Would definitely recommend for any parents looking for great accommodations, location and value when coming to Syracuse. Owner was great to communicate with.
Smart modern renovation with a clever floor plan in an old house. We had a lot of fun staying at 5 Union St. Great for a dinner party for four and for TV viewing. Good for sleeping.
Kitchen is wonderful. Completely updated and all the things you’d need. The host was very responsive before and after the stay. Absolutely charming little cottage in an absolutely charming little village.
This home is beautiful with very recent renovations that include a fantastic kitchen and bathroom. Great location! Syracuse U parents should consider staying here! Close to the university, but with a vacation feel. Host was great and recommended lots of fun dinner options. Highly recommend!
We had a lovely time in the quaint village of Cazenovia. Johnathon's home was well-located, well-stocked, comfortable (especially, the master bed!), and lived up to is billing!
The house was perfect for what we wanted. We had come up for a wedding in Chitinango and was looking for a place close by. The house was cute and clean, couldn’t have asked for better.

Excellent!
Cute house with an excellent location! Easy to walk to town or the lake. The house was perfect for our family. Everyone in town knows "Jonathan's house" and he is so easy to communicate with.
Spent the weekend in Caz for my 10 year college reunion, and ultimately last reunion. The house was the perfect location to campus for one last goodbye and to reminisce about some great years in my youth!
Cute, 2 bedroom cottage that proved to be the perfect place for us to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from Colgate. The only negative, and it’s a minor one, is that there is only one bathroom. However, the bathroom is huge with a fabulous shower!
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Wonderfully quiet neighborhood in the village of Cazenovia. Large bathroom, and fully stocked kitchen. Easy instructions to enter the home. We like to walk and were able to walk all over the village from this location. We did drive to the Lorenzo State Historic site and Chittenango Falls State Park.
Wonderful old-school historic house on quiet residential street
House and property were exactly as advertised, a cosy1820's era house with spacious backyard tucked away on a cute little residential village street which gets very little traffic. Easy access/proximity to all the delights which Cazenovia has to offer. We especially enjoyed the screened-in front porch and outdoor fire pit. The property manager was super helpful and friendly who was responsive to all our needs.

Hi, house has been completely remodeled! Come again
This house was perfect for meeting our friends. Plenty of space and everything you needed. Beautiful little town that we enjoyed the food, kayaking and absolutely the Critz Cider farm! Really enjoyed ourselves. Jonathan was very attentive and answered all of our questions or concerns. Great host! Thank you !!
Although, due to a death in the family, we contacted Jason the day we wanted to arrive, he made sure everything was in order. My daughter and I had stayed in his charming home the month before, under happier circumstances, so it was like returning to a familiar house. It is comfortable, with a well appointed kitchen, nice large bathroom and a terrific bed in the master bedroom. The neighborhood is attractive, safe, and one can walk to town. I'm sure we will stay there again.

Sounds like you enjoyed your time but have us a 2? What could we fix? The house had a complete remodel in 2025.
Clean, comfortable and cute as a button! Worth the 25 minute drive from Colgate where we were visiting for parents weekend. We did not cook but laundry machines were great and we easily did several loads of our daughter's laundry! It should be noted in listing that bath and bedrooms not on the same floor. Not a big deal for us but might be for some. Would definitely stay again!
Great Lay-Out for Visiting with Family & Current Social Distancing
I was visiting grandchildren, whom I had not seen in 5 months, and the home and yard were perfect. The yard is deep and open, with a terrific swing, large deck & picnic table, lawn chairs, and a fire pit. Also very helpful was a large bathroom that is next to the backdoor so family could change, etc. without having to go through the home. The cottage was immaculate with a handy kitchen & central air. Screened in porch in front was a bonus.
This property worked well for us. We enjoyed the screen porch in the evening. We could have used a couple more adult games. We finally found 1. There was just a little too much personal items in the cabinets for my comfort, like people had left the house and we walked in.
House was nice and clean and in a good location, but the bathroom was on the first floor so had to go down steps in the middle of the night. Also light darkening blinds in the bedroom would have been nice. Bed also creaked whenever I moved until I went to the extreme right side. Plus the wifi / TV didnt work🤷🏻♂️

We appreciate your comments. We will make the floor plan clearer on the website along with the TV information. I am sorry you missed that information.
We came to visit for Antique Week in Madison-Bouckville. The cottage was an ideal location and a straight drive to the event. My boyfriend and I travelled with our one year old. The cottage is in a cute, quiet neighborhood. It was fully stocked and very nicely decorated. The property is not ideal for a one year old, but they state that it’s not baby proof on the listing—they aren’t lying. We did a little baby proofing of our own and made sure to put things back where we found them. We were rarely there, so it wasn’t a big deal for us. The host was very responsive and helpful in suggesting places to eat around town. There is a really cute coffee shop a few blocks away that I visited every morning for coffee and a scone. It was a great stay!
A fortnight stay in this lovely cottage, we probably stay longer than your average guest. So a change of towels and sheets would have been nice. Parking outside the cottage or on the road is available. The cottage is quiet, warm (maybe a little too warm in the summer) especially in the bedroom. I am 5ft 4inches and the bedroom and bathroom beams in the ceiling are very low for me, so be warned if you are tall. The mattress is very soft and not for anyone with any back issues. The kitchen has all the equipment you may require, but a simple welcome pack may be nice (like milk) as the nearest shop is five miles away. The cottage information was very brief and the restaurants and pubs outdated as a number of them had closed a few years ago. A refresh of this In for some would be helpful, with some local tourist information would be a nice touch. The area is full of great places to visit, and there are some lovely walks just outside the door, so a great place to visit.

The owners purchased this home to use as a vacation home with their son. Jonathan grew up around the corner until the age of 25. They bought the home in 2015 after a young couple remodeled it with air conditioning, new roof, kitchen and bath and more! It has been furnished with historic furniture found at local antique shows and completed with the best of today's amenities, including TV, smart heating and air, an alarm system and even video surveillance on the doors.

What makes this property unique
Tons to do in Cazenovia and the surrounding area, including outdoor activities, wine tasting, sailing, skiing and more. This home has an adorable screened porch and central air conditioning for those muggy summer nights!
