Best place yet

I have set up houses for our groups before but this one has been the best by far, You always worry about the pictures being better than the actual house, etc. It was even better than what the pictures showed, Had everything in the house that we needed, beds were really comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with whatever you needed for cooking, etc. Everything worked fine. Best of all was the backyard with the pool, hot tub, and the tiki bar area with the fireplace, TV built in, big gas grill, and bar area, even when it was raining a little , we could sit outside in the bar area and just relax and have our refreshments, Pool area was great, clean, relaxing. Fire pit area for late evening relaxing and hot tube was set up just right to relax in and sooth the aching muscles from our grueling golf game that day. Gunnar, the owner, was very informative and we really appreciated that he let us rent his beautiful home, You have to stay here. Mike

Misrepresented

The backyard is very nice. This house has been neglected. It has great potential, but simple repairs and amenities are over looked. The sliding bathroom door track missing screws, so the door wouldn't close easily or properly. One bed was missing it's mattress pad for very soiled mattress. One room missing cable box to tv and each cabinet and drawer in the bathroom was missing a handle. The sliding doors need adjusting or replacing - difficult to open and dirty. The outdoor wicker furniture, bar stool cushions and tv covers were disintegrating. Many more opportunities. I failed to receive access info, the day of arrival, until contacting the management company. No soap for showers or washing machine. No shower mats. The overwhelming amount of correspondence regarding rules, AFTER full refund was no longer available, was disturbing. Emails with attachments, texts repeating over and over about the noise ordinance and parking. It's so bad, it makes you feel as if you're being set up for something. This place is poorly managed because it wouldn't take much to get to 5 stars. In all of the similarly priced homes I have stayed in with vrbo, I haven't had anything negative to mention, but this one warrants attention.

Some Issues, But Would Stay Again

Overall, if we were going back to Palm Springs, I would book this place again. The "issues" this property has are real, but pale in comparison to the upside, at least as far as we're concerned. Cons - the furnishings in the living areas - including the living and dining room and some of the outdoor furniture are very low quality and completely worn out. Also, the paint on some of living area floor is peeling off, bubbling and stained. For the most part, this place makes a terrible first impression. Really a shame because it would be easy and relatively inexpensive to upgrade and/or improve the problems. In addition, despite the fact that cleaners were there immediately prior to our arrival, the place was dirty, including dust on any hard-to-reach place (ceiling fans) etc. Also, most of the outdoor fans and lights don't work. I should note that we didn't bother to call about the cleaning or try to replace bulbs because we did some cleaning ourselves and just didn't feel like bothering with the other stuff. Pros - The outdoor space is FANTASTIC! Pool, hot tub, grilling area, firepit, fireplace and outdoor TV were just tremendous. And most of what we wanted to do was to be outside. If you're a golfer you'll love the putting greens. Also the fruit trees on the property are fantastic - especially the Meyer Lemon tree. Also, all of the bedrooms were very comfortable, with good pillows and linens, and the bathrooms were in good shape. Finally, the kitchen had pretty new and good appliances and was very well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc (including some beer and ice cream from the prior renters!). More so, the indoor spaces are large and well laid out, the neighborhood is great, bikes in the garage are fun. So ... if you're a real neat freak or expect nice furnishings, this is not for you. Otherwise, it's a great value for the cost.

Great stay!

We stayed in the house for a week with our extended family which included two 2 year olds and a 2 month old. The house was a perfect setup for what we needed. We spent the entire week in the outdoor living area and pool. We would definitely stay here again. We found the house instructions a bit overwhelming and confusing. The instructions could be improved by having them in point form and less reiterated information. Overall we had a great time. Location was convenient and the neighbourhood very nice. Amenities are in walking distance and downtown just a short drive. The house is close to the airport. We would recommend this house to anyone wanting a nice stay in Palm Springs.

Great backyard and two king master suites

The best part of this rental was the outside pool area. It is outstanding. Not only the pool hot tub covered bar and bbqing area but the surrounding hedge and trees that are home to abundant bird life. Everything from doves to hummingbirds. There was even a butterfly migration happening during our stay. Outstanding. Plenty of room to get out the sun if you want plus lots of umbrellas that you can move around. Lots of floatys for the pool The house has been updated and has a nice open floor plan. But it does show some wear but is totally manageable. The beds are on the soft side but the pillows are top knotch. Overall we found this place easy to drive to and in a quiet neighbourhood. But be aware that this house in on a golf course and there are balls entering the backyard.

Well-appointed, comfortable home with a truly lovely pool area

Our family of 4 truly enjoyed our 1-week stay in this home over the winter holidays. The home is is a very convenient location, and it was easy to get around Palm Springs, Cathedral City, and Rancho Mirage. The home is lovely and comfortable, with high-end appliances, high-quality beds and linens, and lots of space. The backyard was a special treat, with a wonderful pool and spa that was kept deliciously warm. It was chilly while we were there, otherwise we would have spent even more time outside. There is even a charming orange tree in the corner of the yard. There were a few signs of wear and tear, which one can expect from a rental home, but not enough to cavil about. I would certainly recommend this rental.

Amazing property

My family and I stayed here for 6 days during Thanksgiving week. The place was beautiful inside and out with plenty of space for entertainment. If you are looking for a "Party House"; I'd suggest take that to a local hotel because this isn't that type of place. Perfect for families and couples. Thanks again!

Amazing house and backyard

We rent about 10 houses a year different places, this house was by far one of the best. Clean, perfectly laid out, great decor. Quite neighbored, and extremely peaceful. The backyard is truly a place to just unwind, grill some steaks, and hang out by the fire pit. It does not get better than this, not to mention the amazing warm and sparkling clean pool. This house is centrally located in cathedral city, a Vons just 1/2 a mile from here. We had one issue the garbage disposal was froze apon arrival Gunner had a contractor out here the next day and put in a new one, forgot the contractors name but he was extremely nice and worried about the intrusion however he removed and installed the new disposal in 12 minutes he said it was a record for him, haha if your thinking about coming to the area I recommend HIGHLY this house great value for your money. To the owner Gunner thank you for allowing me and my friends to make some great memories in your home. I wish you great success with this property. Thank you Dave

Beautiful home in quiet neighborhood.

Our second time to stay here and would highly recommend. This homes outside living area is exceptional. It's obvious some guests do not have respect for vacation rentals as some items we needed were not available. This is no fault of the owner, just disrespectful people. We really appreciated our pet being welcome and communication with the owner was very easy.

Great location, incredible back yard May 2018

As with most people who are renting we did a lot of homework on homes and reviews in Palm Springs. Location is always key and this one really is in a good spot, Vons for groceries and beverages a short walk away or two minute drive, Costco within 20 minutes and very close to airport ( Never an issue with noise from planes ). The inside of house is a little dated in regards to sliding doors and a few other things but in no way did that take away from the whole experience, the inside is laid out really well with a large kitchen area as seen in photos, clean and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms and more than enough room for the 6 that we had in our party. Extra fridges ( 2 besides the large one ) inside for wine and whatever else you want in them and of course 1 outside beside BBQ in the TV area. The backyard is even better than the already great reviews it has been getting, it is a huge area in the back ( bigger than the pictures show ) and again really laid out well, great covered area with BBQ, large TV and big bar area. Pool was perfect as was the spa and again little bigger than initially thought from pics, very clean and no issues whatsoever with either. Sitting out at night watching a movie on the outside big screen on comfortable couch and chairs was a treat and enjoyed by all. Lots of sunshine on pool deck area basically the whole day if that's what you prefer with large shaded areas for a break if needed. Televisions everywhere and again all worked fine with no troubles. Contact with owner from start to finish in regards to questions, deposits and the return of our damage deposit all went smooth and efficient. We would recommend this house to anyone and everyone as it really is a great place to stay you will not be disappointed and we will certainly be returning next year.

Perfect House!!

This property was everything we were looking for in a vacation rental and it was perfect! We stayed at this house during the beginning of April and everything was just as described. The arrival process was very easy, the house was comfortable and clean, and every time we had a question we were answered in a very timely fashion which is always appreciated. The location of the house was great too and we were close to everything we needed. Unfortunately, the hot tub was not working properly during our stay so we never got to use it, but the owner was very friendly and helped us the best he could to address the issue. However, the fire pit did work perfectly, and it was really awesome to sit outside during the chilly evenings and relax. Such a great amenity!! We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent this house again when heading out to Palm Springs. I would also definitely recommend this house to anyone else looking for a great place to stay in the area. We already miss it and can't wait to come back again!!

It was an excellent entertainment home inside and out. We went out to dinner once out of guilt - we hated to leave the property. How nice it was to enjoy pool side cooking and relaxing. Would love to come stay again. Thank you for creating a perfect resort property.

Great Yard

Backyard was a great spot for relaxing and entertaining. Pool was beautiful and social area was amazing. Obviously a rental, house itself was tired with a lot of items requiring maintenance. Overall cleanliness was lacking, saw the pool guy twice in 3 weeks and he only cleaned the pool once and did a very poor job, less than 10 minutes. Dealing with the owner was great. Location was fantastic for restaurants and golf.

Awesome Outdoor Living

We had three couples staying at this lovely house, and it was very comfortable. Great kitchen facility especially for refrigeration--wine cooler plus extra fridge for other beverages! If you love TVs everywhere, this will be perfect for you. If you love the outdoors and spend most of your time outside, look no further--this yard is fantastic! The pool, hot tub, the outdoor kitchen, bar area with another place for cooling beverages, the TVs (yes two of them outside), fireplace, and fire pit, plenty of seating both by the pool and by the house. We had a functional issue with the heating of the pool and hot tub, but fortunately it was resolved fairly quickly. I would have given 5 stars, but we had to wait a day to heat up the pool. We would book this house again.

Good after initial 48 hours but problems early.

We had NO hot water for 24 hours. Hot water tank was replaced by owner the second day we were at the house. The air bed had a hole in it and when we checked the couch to see if it was a pullout, we found garbage and a chicken wing bone under the cushions. We actully had to buy an air bed AND bedding so we could sleep all of us. Also had to pay to have bed shipped back to Canada as owner did not offer to buy it from us. While sitting at the dining room table one of us got a needle in our foot, thankfully it was a sewing needle. The contact person in Palm Springs was not reachable and we never had any contact with her the entire stay. She obviously hadn't checked the house prior to our arrival. The extra bedding and towels weren't delivered to the house until 48 hours after moving in. The owner had a cleaning crew at the house on day 2 to do the cleaning. All these problems aside, the yard, patio, pool and hot tub were great once we got the pool heated. The owner did respond when we couldn't reach the manager. We are asking for our first nights rent back but to date we had no response from owner. Our expectations were to move in to a clean and fully functional house to enjoy our stay. This didn't happen.

Easy to find/access; nicely furnished and comfortable; great for warm weather vacationing as the outdoor space is gorgeous. We spent a Coachella weekend, so cost was more than regular rate--but still reasonable compared to other properties. Will definitely visit again. Thank you.
