Dear Brittany, We are very shocked to read your review as you never mentioned these inconveniences to us during your stay. The driveway is absolutely accessible to any kind of cars even regular cars (not necessarily 4x4). Yes, it’s steep for the last 10 meters but all our guests make it up safely each time. There is no air conditioning in the living area but there is in all bedrooms so we don’t understand why you said you couldn’t sleep in the primary bedroom? In the living area, during the hot months like in March (and especially this year), we recommend to our guests to keep all the doors and windows open. There are large sliding doors opening on 2 sides of the room, plus 2 other windows on another side. This house was built to enjoy the ocean breeze and with its high ceiling, the air circulates well in all the room, and it cools down the entire space. There are also 2 ceiling fans, one portable fan, 2 other fans on the outdoor terrace where are the second dining table, BBQ and lounging area. We also added 2 large sun blinders recently on the South facing side of the house. You are right, in Costa Rica, people live outside as they want to enjoy the views and nature. That’s how the house has been designed. And with the air conditioning in all bedrooms, you can sleep comfortably. We wish we had known that earlier so we could have helped you enjoy your stay even more. Hopefully, you’ll come back one day!

Dear Daniela, Thank you for leaving a review about your stay at our villa. We believe it’s important to bring some clarification about some of your comments: 1- Yes, we kindly ask all our guests to communicate on the reservation platform but we make ourselves available at all times by WhatsApp for any emergencies. The reservation platform can be accessed by an App or by email and regular browsing if needed. This is for safety reason: - YOURS: if someone contacts us with a random number by WhatsApp, we have no way to verify its ID. It could be you or someone trying to gain access to the property. - YOURS & OURS: we believe that if all our communications are written on the website, if there is a complaint at the end of the stay, the reservation platform will be able to better understand the situation and support the right person (for you, it would be if you had received a bad service - which we doubt would happen - and for us, it’s if we have a claim to make regarding the damage deposit or a wrongful review). 2- About the living room not offering air conditioning. This is true but we don’t advertise it on the listing and shouldn’t be sanctioned for something we didn’t promise. We understand that some people need AC in all rooms. This is not our conception of a stay in Costa Rica. The house provides AC in all bedrooms and the living room has been designed to let the air circulates so our guests can enjoy the outdoor/indoor lifestyle of Costa Rica! Who wants to be inside with 19C / 66F and go outside for a refreshing swim in the pool that will be at the same temperature or even hotter? When travelling to Costa Rica between December and April, you are visiting a tropical destination during the dry season so be prepared to the hot weather! Most probably you came here to escape the cold winter in North America and enjoy the beach, the rainforest, etc… So make the most of it! Again, this house has been designed to let the air circulates in all directions: it’s located on the Ocean front, slightly at elevation: meaning OCEAN BREEZE. On some days, it’s pleasant and on other days, there’s no air (but imagine being on the flat or in tucked in the forest). Most of the time, the air will circulate if the 2 large sliding doors are open, as well as the other 2 windows on the 3rd side of the house. Use the 2 ceiling fans, the portable fan in the kitchen if you are cooking or on the sofa if you are reading. With the high ceiling, the fans and the doors/windows open, it will be enjoyable! Maybe not when you are coming back from the beach because everything was closed while you were away. But give it 5 minutes and it will cool down! And because we care about the comfort of our guests, we recently added 2 large sun blinders on the South facing side of the house - sheltering you even more from the heat! 3- Now about the check-in/check-out times: we are extremely flexible about that. If you are arriving early and the house hasn’t been occupied the night before, we would usually leave it to you before 12pm (sometimes as early as 9am - and that was your case as we left you the house at 9.52am) so you could have almost one extra day in the house - for free! Same for the check-out. However, if there are guests leaving on the same day of your arrival or checking in when you leave, we need to block the house for 7 hours. This will leave us the time to clean it thoroughly for our new guests (and we never know in advance how the house will be left and how long we’ll need to clean it). If we realize that the cleaning won’t take too much time, then we’ll contact you and let you check-in earlier! We understand that you also enjoyed the house, its views and location, so maybe you’ll want to come back someday! We hope so.
