The Hi-way Ranch Lockhart

40 acres conveniently located just 4 miles north of Lockhart Texas and only 25mins south of Austin. This farmhouse has the best layout and spacious dock on a small pond. Get the country feeling while staying 5 mins from the BBQ Capitol of Texas. This home has a dock, it is possible to fall into the water, please be aware before booking. No infants please. Great for sunsets, bbqing, and coffee on the porch. Please note, this my family getaway home, it is not a party house.

The space

Guest are welcome to all of our 34 acres, with access to 22 acres of heavy woods, when arranged. We ask that you do not use motorized vehicles or toys off the gravel road. It is great for fishing with BARBLESS hooks. Fully stocked with bass, perch, and catfish.

Wonderful house! We had 2 couples and 3 almost grown kids and everyone had a bed and plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked and the view was beautiful. We would stay here again, for sure. The owner responded to questions really quickly and checked up on us during our stay. A pleasure!

Great place for a weekend getaway with a few friends or a couple of families with kids. Felt secluded, except for the road noise, which did not bother our group at all. It was amazing to have the massive deck overlooking the pond right outside the front door! Also, quick drive into Lockhart for world class BBQ, great music shops, and other interesting activities. Highly recommend!

Best fishing getaway

This place is a treasure! We loved our stay! We came with our 3 adult children and two dogs. The house was very clean and all the essentials were provided. We caught too many fish to count even though it rained a lot! We were super excited to find a kayak there too, bonus! Communication with the host was easy and they responded super quick and were very pleasant & helpful with all our questions. We hope to come again very soon!

Great house and host

My family of six stayed here for two nights for a wedding nearby. This is a great house for a secluded and quiet stay and the host was very responsive and helpful as needed. Would definitely stay here again if needed.

Close to town but rural

What a great stay with family and pups. It's a beautiful setting with great sunrise views. The pond is like adding an extra visitor to the family. If you enjoy the outdoors, i highly recommend.

Relaxing weekend

Place was great. The fishing pond was a lot of fun. House was spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed. Not to far from great bbq. We enjoyed our stay.

This was the perfect place for us to stay. The large deck out front allowed us to host the family for a cookout after graduation. It was close enough to San Marcos for us to do what we needed to without being in the middle of all the traffic.

Great Getaway!

Had a wonderful trip! Family enjoyed the fishing, the sunsets out on the deck and the wonderful interior. Great location, close to Lockhart, Circuit of the Americas and more. Had a couple of questions at check in and the owner got right back to us! Family is already asking when we can go again!

Nice get away for our MX camp weekend

What a beautiful property. Fishing, turtles and deer. Everything was provided. We really enjoyed our stay minutes from Spoakes MX and town. We’ll stay here again for next MX camp or just to unplug and enjoy a slower life for a minute.

Perfect weekend getaway

This property fit our needs perfectly. We enjoyed the pond to fish and the kids caught about 10 bluegill. It rained but we could still be outside under the covered deck. The privacy and owner communication was great and we will definitely be back!

Fantastic for families

We had a family wedding in the area and had our family traveling in from Colorado and Dallas. We definitely needed three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Layout of the house we perfect in size, no one felt crowded and open concept kept all included in conversations. Pond does have FISH in it!!! So excited to catch and release a few. Long private driveway was great for morning walks and talks to see some deer and plants. Nighttime had us stargazing. Would love to rent this again in the future.

Almost made it!

When we pulled up to the property it looked like a beautiful serene place to be but as we got closer we noticed the grass around the pond, house, and fire pit was grass high to your keister...so couldn't sit around the fire pit or fish around the pond for fear of snakes! Called the owner and he got it taken care of pretty quickly even offered a free day for the inconvenience. Had a slight problem with adjusting the ac but again the owner was available right away to help. The bed downstairs was very uncomfortable and my friends who stayed upstairs said the same about theirs epton was the most uncomfortable I've slept on

Girls weekend

We all live close to, or in, Austin. Love to get away for a long weekend! Property was nice but lacking in some ways. Keurig was broken and kitchen supplies were lacking. Most of the coffee cups were chipped and not enough dishes. There was a storage closet in the hallway and supplies were not organized. There were clothes in the closets, the windows were filthy. We had a fun weekend and will definitely use VRBO but would not return to this property. I had found this on the website and took some grief from my fellow travelers.

Excellent property for a great country get away

This home was well appointed, comfortable, great amenities and, yes, we caught and released fish in the pond. Everyone in our party was very happy with the location as it was just an easy drive into Lockhart and the City and State Parks. We look forward to many more vacations here.
