We were just featured in the 'I HEART NY' official tourism site as one of the 'coolest places in NY to stay!' We couldn't be more proud of this honor!

We’re a large, loving family who adores the Adirondacks—and we’re thrilled to share our second home with you! We are so proud of our house, this gorgeous part of the country, and the New York State official tourist agency recognizing us.

Our home is your perfect base camp for adventure and relaxation. Close to Lake George, Lake Placid, and Gore Mountain, you can explore as much as you want and come back to a cozy private retreat. Schroon Lake offers a gorgeous beach with clear lake water, and in the winter it freezes for ice fishing, ice skating at the town gazebo, and snowmobile tours right across the lake, great fishing, amazing hiking trails, and the Natural Stone Bridges and Caves just down the road. Did I mention there is an adorable 9-hole golf course in Schroon? Super close to the house, and it's gorgeous! In the winter, it doubles as a cool place to sled and take the kiddos! As travelers ourselves, we’ve done our best to create a rental that makes your stay as easy, carefree, and comfortable as possible.

Our house is thoughtfully equipped for families and groups. Enjoy:

. A fully stocked kitchen and main living area with air conditioning for warmer days (though it’s rarely needed in the mountains).
. All bedrooms with box fans and blackout curtains for peaceful, cool sleep.
. New, clean bedding, pillows, and blankets throughout.
. A gas grill and a wraparound front deck with seating—perfect for coffee or outdoor dining.
. A private back deck with comfortable seating for relaxing or stargazing.
. A playroom with ping pong, pool, and games.
. Two living rooms for spreading out.
. Smart TVs in every room, excellent Wi-Fi, and Sling TV.
. A 4-season hot tub, fire pit with Adirondack chairs, and plenty of free firewood.
All-Season Fun

Summer: Bicycles, a kayak, fishing poles, beach chairs, and a beach cart. The Schroon town beach is less than 1.5 miles away, and parking is free!

Winter: Sleds for the kids and that cozy hot tub after a snowy day. Our house is located on the Adirondack Snowmobile trail, and you can ride your snowmobiles (or rent from C&C rentals in town) from our driveway right onto the trail for hundreds of miles!

New mini cabin: A charming hideaway with a full bed, twin mattress, heat, electricity, and a smart TV.

We’ve tried to think of everything to make your stay easy, fun, and memorable. We can’t wait to welcome you!

The house can sleep 12-14. There is a $25 extra guest fee per guest per night after 8 guests.

Our group of three families really enjoyed our weekend at the lodge. It was a wonderful winter getaway and the setup was perfect for all of us. We went skiing at Gore which was an easy 30 minute drive. The hot tub was perfect to relax after a day of skiing and the house was well stocked with firewood for the wood stove. We hope to return again in the summer!

Great location. Close to the lake but far enough away from crowds and noise. We spent most of our time hiking and exploring the Adirondack area. The hot tub was a nice way to cap off a day of hiking. We made great use of the outdoor grill and relaxed around the fire pit after. I highly recommend a vacation in Lake Schroon!

Every year we all get together for a family weekend visit in Schroon Lake. This is the second time we have stayed at this property. It is perfect for our fairly large group, and has plenty of space for all of us. The teenagers love the hot tub and also love the pool table and Pac-Man! The family room/dining/kitchen is large enough for everyone to hang out, and the south facing deck is a great spot for hanging out in the sun. We love that it is close to town and the lake, but it is also in the woods and very secluded - you can't even see a neighbor. Hopefully we will stay here again next year! The host was very accommodating and got back to me quickly when I had a small problem with the dishwasher. Great place!

This rating should go to ELEVEN! The house has everything you need for an amazing time in the Adirondacks. After a day hiking we enjoyed the full moon and stars around the fire pit, then jumped in the hot tub. No one turned on a TV all weekend (even though there's one in every room if you're tempted). Everything you need to throw a gourmet meal together, or grab a juicy burger in downtown Schroon 5 minutes away. Host Mary Jane was a great resource and knows the area and the cool local places. Best VRBO we've ever rented, excellent on every level.

We absolutely loved the property. Everything from the fully stocked kitchen to the hot tub were just perfect. Add in a zip-line for the kids and it was just non stop fun. I could not recommend more and we hope to get back there soon.

Perfect spot for a family vacation!

The loose moose lodge was the ideal location for our family getaway! With 7 adults and 5 kids, there was plenty of room for everyone. The location couldn’t have been better with less than a 5 minute drive from Schroon village and the public beach and within 30 minutes to many other local amenities, including Lake George. Welcome to our little secret: Schroon Lake — a hidden gem in the heart of Adirondack Park. This charming lakeside town offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by mountains, fresh air, and natural beauty, while still providing easy access to nearby destinations.
Life moves at a slower pace here. Mornings bring crisp mountain air and coffee on the deck, while evenings end under quiet, star-filled skies.
Despite its serene setting, Schroon Lake is ideally located. Lake George is just 30 minutes away, Lake Placid is under an hour, and Montreal makes an easy day trip in less than two hours.
The sandy town beach is one of our favorite spots — scenic, never overcrowded, with free parking and a protected swim area perfect for families. In summer, rent a pontoon boat from Schroon Lake Marina for tubing, fishing, or a peaceful cruise. In winter, the frozen lake becomes a snowy playground, and snowmobiling across it is an unforgettable Adirondack experience.
Dining in Schroon is part of the charm. Enjoy classic comfort food at Pitkin’s Restaurant, relaxed family dining at Flanagan’s Pub & Grill, and yes — we even have top-notch Chinese takeout for an easy night in.
With scenic drives, waterfalls, wildlife, hiking trails, and year-round beauty, Schroon Lake is a place families return to again and again.

Set on a private drive, the property provides true seclusion while still being close to town. Guests love soaking in the hot tub, gathering around the oversized fire pit, or exploring the charming mini cabin tucked on the property.
For winter adventurers, the home is located directly on an official Adirondack snowmobile trail, allowing you to ride straight from the property. This unique access is one of the reasons the home was featured by the official I LOVE NY tourism site as one of the “Coolest Places to Stay” in New York.
Inside, you’ll find Smart TVs in every room, reliable WiFi, and cozy new pillows and bedding for restful nights. The fully stocked kitchen makes meals easy, and we provide complimentary firewood and bathroom toiletries for a stay that feels as convenient as a hotel — but far more relaxing.
Beach towels and beach toys are available in the garage, and guests have full access to the home and property to enjoy everything it has to offer.
