About Steve Aitken

The property features three private rental units; both have private entrances and decks for your enjoyment. I've lived in Sonoma County for over 30 years and enjoy the fishing and relaxation that this property offers.

Steve Aitken purchased this house in 2016

Why Steve Aitken chose Old Town

The Sonoma Coast is one of the most beautiful and dramatic places in all of Northern California. It's somewhere that I wanted to spend time, so a vacation rental made a lot of sense. I truly enjoy sharing my home with people from all over the world, who appreciate life on the water as much as I do.

What makes this house unique

Staying on the water is a vacation in and of itself. The immersion of life according to nature....watching the tides come in and out, enjoying a sunset from your private deck, watching the pelicans fish for their dinner and the river otters playing....there's just nothing like it. Many people don't realize the diversity of wildlife up here. Bodega Bay is also an active fishing village. You can go out deep sea fishing on a fishing charter, or I can tell you where to buy the freshest fish, or enjoy the best local clam chowder. There's something for everyone here in Bodega Bay!

Gorgeous views!

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time! The views are great and the lights across the bay at night really lovely. "Sammy the Seagull" greeted us on the balcony every morning, saw seals swimming from the balcony, tons of shorebirds. The studio is spacious and decently equipped with the basic necessities. The driveway is easy to miss when you are coming from town but once you know where it is it's fine. We'll be back!

Great coastal retreat

  • 5 of 5

Bodega bay is one of the most restful places in the state and our accommodations only helped our stay to be even more relaxing. A determined seagull began our day on the outdoor railing waiting for a feeding but soon flew off when s/he spotted a fishing boat returning to the harbor. Comfortable, clean and almost like Home

Neat spot over-looking Bodega Bay!

  • 4 of 5

This studio apartment over looks Bodega Bay with a bird's eye view of the whole bay! Lovely windows and deck. Great kitchen with gas stove for cooking and all the other necessary pots, pans, and accessories. We used the Weber BBQ to cook a fantastic grass-fed rib-eye, worked great. Comfy bed, nice screen for World Series-watching, and even a seagull that knocked on the window to let us know he was ready for some crackers (yikes)! Loved watching the fishing boats go out/come back and there was a sea lion who swam all around the dock below us upside-down! Very exciting to see one so close up and see how fast it could swim, we had no idea they were so fast! Steep and tricky driveway, but after the 1st time navigating it, we were good. Can walk to Diekmann's and other hill-top store up the road and also to The Tides but watch out for nowhere to walk along Hwy 1 w/out being run-over! Great location to zip around to visit the bay attractions like Gourmet au Bay and the restaurant at Lucas Wharf. Bring your own shampoo/toiletries and hangers (this place really needs a closet) but other than that--we would love to stay here again!

Very nice, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Million dollar view! Great location. We visited the Armstrong state preserve, Korbel champagne vineyards, and Bodega head, all in one day. We picked up seafood at the Tides Wharf restaurant and fish market. The unit was perfect for us. Diekmans store has everything you need also. We would definitely stay again, and highly recommend it.

Great views

  • 5 of 5

This studio is very comfortable and nicely decorated. I'm all about lots of light and views and it definitely has that. We didn't cook but the kitchen appeared to have all you would want short of an oven but it does have a toaster oven. The driveway is a little intimidating at first but not that bad. It's hard to find so pay attention to the directions. We parked at the near by market and I walked to locate the entrance. Steve was very accessible by phone with a question. I wish I had paid attention to restaurant suggestions by other reviewers. We ate at The Tides Wharf and Lucas Wharf and weren't that impressed with the food.

Lovely little Bodega Bay getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary with a stay in this cozy studio. We were very comfortable, and the view/location was great - we saw a seal (sea lion?) right outside in the water and were able to stargaze one night, too, when the fog cleared. Beaches are just a few minutes away, the market right up the road is very handy, and while the driveway/parking is a little challenging, we figured it out without too much trouble. The only things I wished it had that it didn't were a hair dryer and clothes hangers.
