We had a lovely stay at the villa, everything was there that you required to make it a home from home and in good condition.Contact from the host was very good and a quick response when required.The garden is lovely and relaxing complimented with several different seating areas.

Wonderful holidays in Andalusia

Beautiful villa scary drive up!

The villa and pool were beautiful, clean and without fault, exceeding our expectations.The drive up is not for the faint hearted. A small 4x4 like a Panda would be perfect as the roads are very steep and narrow. In places, the storm drains have collapsed, which add to the fun. If you have children, be aware, there are wasps too, we got stung a few times. That said, we had an amazing holiday at Las Jaras. The villa and the views are fabulous.

Lovely Las Jaras

A repeat visit for us to this lovely, obviously much-loved and well cared for house. The surrounding nature is amazing with huge flocks of swifts screaming overhead, eagles soaring so close you feel you could reach out and touch them and the birdsong that greets you every morning, along with all the beautiful butterflies, makes this a very special place. As if that were not enough, the spectacular views are to die for. We had a great holiday in this super, well- appointed house with its lovely pool and terraces and we hope to return as soon as we are able.

One word…. EPIC

This is our second stay at this exceptional property… and we’ll be back again. The villa is stunning, love the new bathrooms. It’s really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is beautiful and we cooked everyday. I’ve just bought a new washing drainer board as the one in the villa is so good. Lolita is very good in getting back to you, we had a few questions before we arrived. Karin is wonderful and got us a few provisions in before we arrived on the Bank Holiday. The pool is kept at a perfect temperature.. you can just walk in and feel refreshed. I always say, you get what you pay for… at Las Jaras, you get that and more. If this place was ever up for sale we’d buy it if we could afford it. The location is perfect for getting to the beach, the village of Casares or heading off up into the mountains to explore. If I could give this place more than five stars I would. It is perfection and we absolutely love it here. If you love seeing nature, star gazing and peace and quiet, this is definitely the place for you. Lolita you have made a beautiful home, thank you.

Une belle villa en pleine nature

La maison est en hauteur, la vue est magnifique sur la mer et le rocher de Gibraltar. Les différentes terrasses permettent de trouver celle qui convient à chaque moment de la journée. La piscine chauffée en avril est un véritable atout. Il est nécessaire de prendre sa voiture pour aller se promener, la plage est à 20 minutes et Casares, un très joli village à 5 minutes. Nous avons passé un super séjour. Cependant, la maison étant en pleine nature, il faut s'attendre à éventuellement rencontrer la faune locale (scorpion, scolopendre...). Cela reste très rare mais ça nous est arrivé. Karin a été très attentive tout au long de la semaine et toujours présente quand nous avons eu besoin, nous l'en remercions ! Il ne manque rien dans la maison, ce qui est très appréciable quand on vient en avion!

Vejen op til huset er lidt besværlig når man ikke er vant til at køre i bjerge men det gik fint med at finde huset og man lære hurtigt vejen.Huset er en smule slidt. Parasollen var flosset og markisen kunne ikke køres ud på 1 sal. Denne var også enormt slidt og virkede som en gammel sag. Dette kunne vi dog sagtens leve med.Indvendigt var det dejligt med gaskomfur. Det virker som om at ejerne har lagt meget sjæl i huset. Dog var der en underlig duft på 1 sal. Den var ret ubehagelig at vågne op til om morgenen, men man vænnede sig til det. Pga kryb så kunne vi ikke rigtigt lufte ud i huset, men jeg tænker bare det er en del af den autentiske oplevelse ved at leje et hus i bjergene.Generelt virkede huset lidt “træt” i forhold til hvad vi forventede, men vi havde en god ferie. Casares var en stor oplevelse og en virkelig smuk by. Det samme var Rhonda, Sotogrande samt Gibraltar. Stor anbefaling til at bruge nogle dage på at se disse steder.

We appreciate your comments regarding the house. Some of the points you’ve raised, such as the parasol and the awning, are already being addressed — replacements and repairs are under way. We always aim to keep the villa comfortable and in good condition while preserving its rustic charm. As you rightly said, mountain roads in Spain can feel a bit daunting at first, but they are quite common in country homes, and in fact, the relatively good access was one of the reasons we chose this house 15 years ago. Our intention was never to modernise it fully but to maintain its character and soul — something we’re pleased to hear you felt inside the house. Wunderbar, gern wieder!

Wunderschönes, liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus mit allem, was man braucht. Heizung im Haus und im Pool funktionierten tadellos. Küche voll ausgestattet. Kommunikation hervorragend. Betten und Kissen sorgten für entspannten Schlaf. Perfekt!

Unser Aufenthalt im Ferienhaus in Casares war einfach wunderbar! Von Anfang an war die Kommunikation mit dem Eigentümer klar und unkompliziert, was uns ein gutes Gefühl und Sicherheit gab. Vor Ort wurden wir herzlich von Karin, der Verwalterin des Hauses, empfangen, die uns sofort willkommen hieß und uns alle wichtigen Informationen gab. Das Haus bietet 100-prozentige Privatsphäre. Umgeben von der herrlichen Natur konnten wir die Ruhe in vollen Zügen genießen. Trotz der abgeschiedenen Lage ist das Ferienhaus nur eine kurze Fahrt von der Stadt Estepona entfernt, was uns die perfekte Kombination aus Erholung und Stadtnähe bot. Es ist wichtig zu beachten, dass man für das Haus ein Auto benötigt, um die Umgebung und die Annehmlichkeiten der Stadt problemlos erreichen zu können. Alles in allem war unser Aufenthalt eine perfekte Mischung aus Natur, Ruhe und Komfort, und wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Ha sido una gran experiencia, por la comodidad de la casa, sus increíbles vistas y en un entorno tranquilo. Perfecta para pasar unos días en familia. El acceso a la casa asusta el primer día al ver la pendiente de las rampas, pero se accede sin problema. Muy recomendable!

A wonderful house

We only stayed for 5 nights and wish it could have been longer. Las Jaras is a lovely house in a stunning location and was beautifully presented. We especially loved the terraces from which we could watch the wide variety of bird life, particularly the raptors. We hope to return.

This villa has everything from immaculate interior, an impressive kitchen, everything you need for a great stay. The heated pool was perfect… you could just walk right in and feel immediately refreshed. The garden is beautiful with stunning wildlife. The views are breathtaking and so many places to sit and take in the surroundings. The night sky was an emotional experience, one we will cherish. Our stay was SPECTACULAR. Thank you for letting your home out. We have so many ideas for what we are looking for when we move over now. Karin was wonderful and looked after us. I wish we were back there right now. I would recommend this place one million percent. I’d give it more than 5 stars ⭐️

The place for us!!!

We were searching for a place to go for rest and relaxation for our family after a hectic Holiday week...and we found it. From the first moment, the owners replied back quickly and answered everything that I asked..right up to the last day. Their home is amazing!! It had EVERYTHING that you might need to cook a gourmet meal or just to enjoy a quiet night with a glass of Spanish Wine by the fire. The pool was a hit with our daughter and the beds were comfy and a hit with mama :) I'm so glad that we stayed here....looking back I wish we would have been able to stay there longer...but alas- work calls! Dreaming of our return!!

Fantastisk bolig

Herlig bolig. Hyggelig, ren og pæn. Eneste minus var at vi af annoncen ikke klart kunne afgøre om der var et soveværelse i overetagen, vi havde en gangbesværet med. Men vi var meget tilfredse og den opvarmede pool og centralvarmen reddede de dage hvor vejret var mindre godt.

Wonderful home with stunning views

We stayed at Casa Las Jaras for almost a full week this November and wish we could have stayed longer. The house is large, well-appointed (especially the kitchen!) and feels like a home rather than a sterile rental property. The views from the house are amazing; photos don’t do it justice. Our boys loved the heated pool and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine watching the sun set over the distant hills. Though you need a car to stay here, the seclusion is part of the appeal for us. We hope to return again someday soon!

Lolita and Colin are a Brazilian/British couple who live in Cardiff and take frequent trips to Las Jaras. We go to Las Jaras 3-4 times a year and enjoy being there on all seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn.

Lolita enjoys staying around the house on her own or in the company of family and friends, whilst Colin can be found most often roaming the hills.

For both of us it is a fantastic getaway, relaxant and tonic and we hope it will be for you too – all our guests love it at Las Jaras and they all enjoy it in their own way.

The house is very comfortable and well equipped and has a spacious feel to it. Guests say they feel very much at home. It is close to both mountains and beaches.

From the terraces and balconies you can have your meals looking at beautiful views of Gibraltar and the mountains of North Africa. It is wonderfully quiet and secluded, even though there are neighbours only a couple of minutes away.

The private heated swimming pool is set in the lovely garden. There is a range of excellent restaurants nearby.

We chose this location because of all the different possibilities, that satisfy the varied desires of our extended family who stay at Las Jaras. Whatever you want to do, you can do it at and from Las Jaras.

It is a very peaceful location for lounging by the pool or on one of the many terraces. It is 20 minutes from a range of lovely and safe beaches and 10 minutes from the nearest golf course.

There is a wide range of walking available, from gentle strolls from the house through to wild mountains to ascend. For the naturalists there are many birds, most notably the eagles and other birds as well as a wide range of beautiful flowers in spring.

With all the 'White Villages', Ronda, Cadiz, Jerez and Seville, and even Stone Age cave paintings, we believe Las Jaras can satisfy all tastes.
