We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful beach property. Everything you need for your stay is readily available. Plenty of towels and beach chairs for all. Close to grocery store and other restaurants and beaches are within a 10 minute drive. There were 7 of us so it was a little tight but we made it work. The only issue we experienced was the fact there are wild chickens and roosters that live in the bushes along the road. They would start crowing and 3 am!!! Not sure if that was just our experience or if its a usual occurrence. My kids barely noticed however and if you are a light sleeper perhaps some earplugs just in case. Otherwise this was our favorite vacation ever and we hope to be back very soon. The North Shore is heaven!!
Fantastic location on the North Shore! The home is situated with the ocean as your back yard. You can walk down from the back stairs onto the sand with the water just yards away. The beach for the most part was quiet and you had your own little piece of paradise. With gorgeous new patio furniture and the deck to watch breath taking sunsets. The kitchen is equipped with everything that's needed and more. It comes with a wine refrigerator and rice cooker. There were things that we forgot to purchase at the local market that were provided in the home. The home is well maintained and very clean. The air conditioner was a huge relief. There are air conditioners in all the bedrooms except for one. At night it's quiet and we never heard any of the street traffic or neighbors.
Our family which consisted of 6 adults and 1 child, all had a relaxing and peaceful vacation. There were board games, bicycles that we rode (that had recently been serviced) swimming & snorkeling equipment available. This time of the year made the swimming in the ocean great! The ocean was calm and you could see the bottom of the ocean floor. We spent many evenings barbecuing on the back deck and watching the sunset.
The house is located close to Foodland market and just down the road from Ted's Bakery (their chocolate Haupia cream pie is a must). We had shaved ice at Matsumoto's(yummy) and went all the way into Honolulu for Malasada's from Leonard's(delicious). You can say we're foodies and everything we tried was excellent.
We'd like to thank Daniel the caretaker of the home. He was always available when we had questions. He made us feel like Ohana when we were there and it meant so much to all of us! Mahalo for being there for us Daniel. Thank you Matt for the opportunity to vacation at your beach house.
This is the place if you're looking for a home away from home! Hope to be able to return one day.
Location, location! Great house!
We loved our time and the house was perfect. The location is amazing with beach only steps from the lanai. Very little beach traffic at all and on some days we wee the only ones there. Our stay was the week of Memorial Day and we really expected larger groups of people yet it was calm and just right. There were several party groups over the weekend but still well spread out and downright enjoyable.
The air conditioning in the house was a welcome addition although we only used it occasionally during the day with the evening breeze more than enough at night.
Tons of pretty new snorkeling equipment was available including fins. The deck had a brand new set of outdoor furniture brought in and it was perfect! Lots of relaxing time on that deck. 10 days of heaven on earth.
There are beach bikes available but they could use a little loving with a short trip to the local bike shop for a once over. Still, great to have available and not need to rent. We were walking distance from the local store and great food trucks galore.
We will return to this house when the opportunity comes again.
Everyday is a postcard
This is a quiet, beautiful, and restful beachfront home. We were looking for something for something outside the hotel scene in Honolulu or Waikiki. We certainly got what we wanted. There is plenty to keep you busy on the North Shore and the city is just a 45 minute drive. I will miss long walks on the beach and watching the amazing sunsets. We had a minor issue and the property manager got right on it. You will enjoy this home. Mahalo.
Just ahhhhh. Awesome house. Awesome location.
Top Spot for North Shore
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this property for 8 nights in February. Beautiful home with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Any issues we had were promptly dealt with by Daniel (thankyou!). Yes it could do with a top to toe clean with built up dust and grime, so I recommend this asap. Generally it was clean enough but not sparkling as you would expect in a high end property. The other thing that would have swayed me booking this property in the first place (that I think people should know), is that like most homes in this area, it is on the main highway. Even with a smaller slip road separating from the hwy, the traffic noise was 24hrs a day. Hence this spoilt the "peace and serenity" we were looking for. One side is the stunning beach, the other side (bedroom side) was this constant noise. And noisy people walking past all hours of the night. So sleep wasnt the best...hence if you are a light sleeper I would aim for a home away from the highway! It was lovely to cycle on the slip road though, the bikes only just pass as useable but did the job. Thankyou for sharing this special place on the North Shore. ps Dont expect to swim in February, just watch the whales and the many changing moods of the ocean instead - unless you are a pro!
