The lodge was clean and welcoming and in a beautiful setting. Beds were very comfy and the lodge is well equipped with plenty of space for our family with teens and grandparents. It's great for local gems like Hartland Quay and Appledore and also the bigger north Devon beaches. Many thanks and we hope to stay again..
Super lodge, very well equipped, everything from slow cooker to beach bag! Lodge so clean with plenty of fluffy towels provided and Ian so helpful. Fantastic value for money.

Overall the property interior, was good, however outside left a lot to be desired very untidy .
Very difficult to find more instructions would have helped.Position of property probably the worse plot on the site.
Interior as stated good.
Would we return, No I don't think so.
The lodge had everything we needed for an end of summer break. Clean and well equipped. Off the beaten track but once we found our feet we found the best way to find the lodges, sat nav essential for the narrow country lanes!! We went north and south on A39 and saw some great places, had a meal in the Farmers Arms in Woolsery which was delicious.
This lodge is in a quiet and very private location. Would recommend for anyone wanting to get away from it all.
We had a great stay at the Devon Lodge. It was lovely and secluded yet close enough to lots of attractions. The children loved it as there was a deck and enclosed garden which meant they could run in and out pretty freely! There were so many bird species who came to peck at some seeds we put down which was a real treat! We very much enjoyed our stay!
The whole process was excellent and very clear. All instructions which were required are clearly sent through prior to arrival and the whole stay was near perfect.
If I was to be picky the only negative I would say is the drive was a bit tight as the hedges often touched the sides of the car and can be difficult for rear wheel drive however as it dried up it became much easier.
Hartland and then neighbouring areas are absolutely beautiful and great to visit even in the winter.
Overall communication with Ian was great and I would definitely visit again
We had a lovely week break at the lodge. Its a really nice place and extremely well equipped. Ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday. In between Bude and Biddiford ideal for visiting places. Would highly recommend
We had a lovely stay at Devon Lodge, the secure gated garden was perfect for my two year old to run around and play, he had a fab time. The lodge was clean and well kept. The WiFi wasn’t great but this was explained pre arrival so was expected. The area is very isolated (again, explained in the description so it wasn’t unexpected) but definitely only stay here if you are happy to be a 15minute drive from everything. Overall a great stay. Lots of signs everywhere though & may be good idea to add one about how hot the water gets from the bathroom taps!
Lovely clean tidy and spacoiusl Lodge as described by owner. Extremely peacefully perfect for spending a great holiday and exploring the surrounding area. Look forward to going back again soon. Hosts were excellent and easy to contact if needed.
Nice quiet area but you need a car are to go anywhere apart from that Wi-Fi would be nice
Nice quiet area places to go and see nice pubs to eat out also you have Bideford close by and if you need anything bigger there's always Barnstable Westward Ho and Bude are close
Had a fantastic stay at the lodge. Perfect for our family and we all loved it. Weather was on our side and we had great time and made lots of lovely memories. Would recommend the lodge and would definitely stay again.
We were looking for a quiet break after months of Covid restrictions, & we got exactly what we were after. Clean, comfortable, warm, secluded & well appointed.
Only criticism was that the parking space was somewhat overgrown.
The Devon Lodge was a great place for a few days away. In a quiet rural spot it was an ideal location, but close enough to places we wanted to visit. The property is accurately described and was very comfortable for our group consisting of 4 adults and 2 children (aged 14) - it has everything you could possibly need during your break and correspondence with Ian was quick and friendly.
Am more than happy to recommend this property to anyone thinking of getting away for a few days and may look to visit ourselves again in the future when time allows.
Had a lovely relaxing week away and were very luck with the September weather, Location is very peaceful but a car is a must for getting around, would happily recommend to friends and family
Very good value for money - wonderful property that is very private with a beautiful garden. Kitchen is well stocked with cutlery and kitchen utensils/cookware. Able to cook some lovely family meals. There is no WiFi and phone reception isn’t good but that’s the beauty of the lodge - getting away from everything! Would recommend -‘d hope to stay again!
The communication with the property owners was out of this world whenever we had a question we never had to wait for a response texting or phone call. The property was very nice, very clean and well taking care of. The only thing was the location It was in the middle of nowhere it was nice in a way real quite, no traffic no outside noise but nothing was really walkable to get to. We would definitely stay at a property owned by Ian and Sarah again just in a different location quite but with more walkable availability to places. We would definitely recommend Ian and Sarah’s property’s
The lodge was spotless..very spacious.. i was a bit scared after reading other reviews that it’s in the middle of nowhere but it only made our holiday peaceful...it’s in perfect location for exploring Devon and Cornwall..owners left lots of things for us to use like cool bag, beach tent and etc..really can’t recommend this enough.. just perfect!!!

Fantastic Cabin and Great Location
The cabin is in a very quiet location near a public foot path that leads to a farm where you can buy fresh eggs. The cabin itself was clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Great place to relax.

About the host
Hosted by Ian & Sarah Moore
We regularly visit Devon with friends and grandparents. We love the peace and quiet and being able to switch off from our busy jobs. Our children grew up paddling in the rock pools and walking the North Devon Coast.
Why they chose this property
We needed to get away from the daily routines!
What makes this property unique
We can do what we like! No timetables or schedules. There is variety in the places to visit or alternatively we can sit in the sun and read a book. We enjoy being able to eat in, have a BBQ on the beach or go for a meal or a cream tea in one of the wonderful pubs and tea rooms in North Devon and Cornwall.
