Once the private retreat of iconic artist Jean Cocteau, this elegant classical residence with its sweeping views across the bay to Cap Ferrat is a truly unique discovery. Private pool, private parking, orange trees and a stunning terrace, and yet just a gentle stroll from the waterside shops and restaurants of beautiful Villefranche.

Please be aware that the property is not suitable for children under 16 years of age.

Also please be aware that there is very limited television reception at the property. The footprint of the Sky satellite has moved and very is virtually no television reception either in English or French.

Postcard views

Entry to this villa is like walking into a postcard. The views are simply stunning, and you will never tire of looking at them. The villa was perfect for three couples, each with a separate bedroom and bath. The neighborhood is quiet, and we were able to sleep with the windows open. You can hear the waves lapping the shore at night and church bells in the morning. Villefranche is quint and an easy walk away. A small grocery store is blocks away with most everything you need for a short stay. The property is close to the train station- Monaco is a few stops away as is Nice. This villa is the perfect combination of peaceful refuge with easy access to other adventures. Highly recommend.

The house was perfect, the view is breathtaking, bedrooms comfortable, pool and yard space is peaceful. Easily accessible to near by towns.

A perfect riviera hideaway

This villa is an absolute gem on one of the most beautiful stretches of the riviera. The sweeping views of the bay and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat were breathtaking. The villa itself is charming and elegant, full of beautiful art and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The pool, of course, was an absolute highlight. Very private and a perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. Howard was very helpful over e-mail and Tamsin was wonderful, kindly meeting us and settling us in. We loved our stay and can't wait to visit again soon!

Charming Villa

This is a beautiful old French villa with a spectacular view of the ocean. The lovely pool and terrace have both privacy and views. The location is excellent as it is near to the bus, to the staircase to the beach/harbor and also close to local shops.

Picture Perfect (&Perfect in Person)

This is such a special villa. The view is stunning. The pool area is gorgeous. The very, very French tile floor and herringbone patterned wood floor inside the villa are exquisite. The location (close to bus and train) is perfect for exploring the Côte d’Azur. The property manager is lovely and made me feel like a genuine house guest. I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could. Definitely hope to return!

Villa de Calm

Villa is just as pictured with stunning views of Villefranche and St Jean Cap Ferrat waterfront. Comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms with quality fixtures. The home has an authentic South of France look and feel. We all loved the infinity pool! Everything was perfect!

Artistic Villa in the south of France!

My girlfriends and I (4 of us) loved staying in this villa! The space is truly unique, artistic and really gives you the feeling of being in the south of France. The house was very clean (big deal for me) and comfortable. Easy to walk into town, hosts were excellent! Having the pool/outdoor space was a treat.

This is a beautiful villa with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms - a gorgeous living room with water views

Superb - would love to visit Howard's villa again - the pool overlooking the Villefranche harbour and surrounding garden area are beautiful - we arrived to complementary cheese wine and bread - a generous and welcome gesture. The house is very comfortably furnished - air conditioning in all 4 bedrooms and the view from the living room and 2 bedrooms over Villefranche is superb. Tamsin - our contact in Villefranche was so helpful. The house is an easy walk to the village and the beach and on the bus route for Nice, Monaco and Menton

I have always, since childhood, adored the South of France. It was always my dream to have a place on the Cote d'Azur and that is now a dream come true. Especially a house with such history. The Belle Epoque Villa was at the turn of the century a Pensione which was frequented by many artists. My apartment was added to the building in 1916 as a self contained apartment for those who wanted more freedom. The guests included Jean Cocteau, Man Ray and Charlie Chaplin to name but a few.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The apartment is unique in that it has it's own private garden, terrace and swimming pool. As well as 2 Pool Bedrooms that were added in 2004. A unique blend of the old and the new.

The Villa is very near the centre of Villefranche so a car is not necessary. It is a 10 minute walk to the Beach and the waterside restaurants and shops of this historical village.A bus stop 4 mins away will whisk you to Nice or Monaco and beyond. The SNCF train station is 15 mins walk away.
