About this property

Petit Nivelle is a lovingly restored farm house situated in the middle of the vineyards of South West France. The house has been sympathetically restored to a high standard. The house consists of three double bedrooms, one with a super king size bed, en suite bathroom, walk in shower and WC, one with two single beds, en suite walk in shower and WC and the third bedroom has a king size bed with adjoining bathroom, walk in shower and WC. The beautiful open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen is spacious and opens out to a patio leading to an extensive garden. The kitchen is equipped with a range, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and all cooking equipment making it a dream kitchen for anyone who enjoys cooking. Adjoining the kitchen is a laundry room with washing machine & tumble dryer. Patio furniture, sun loungers and barbecue are all available. One set of linen and towels per bedroom are provided.

Petit Nivelle, countryside paradise!

The six of us had a wonderful stay at Petit Nivelle. The farmhouse was charming and inviting. We enjoyed cozy fires in the fireplace on chilly mornings and evenings. The kitchen is amazing, well-stocked with utensils and pots and pans. We visited all the surrounding markets, many beautiful and historical sites along the Dordogne, Saint-Émilion as well. Bob and Evelyn next door, could not have been more helpful, hospitable and pleasant - all are memories that will never be forgotten. Thank you for allowing us to share in your wonderful property.

Beautiful home set in a tranquil rural setting, near picturesque towns and villages .

Beautiful home set amongst the rolling vineyards near the Dordogne Valley. The home is well built with modern conveniences but true to its rural setting and origins. The home has a large modern kitchen area, seating areas, bedrooms and outdoor patios. The hosts were helpful and could not have been more accommodating - Evelyn also makes the most delicious shortbread cookies. The location is convenient to several picturesque villages and a short drive to larger centres. Perfect for couples or a family with ample space and privacy for all. We hope to return one day and enjoy a longer stay.

May 2019 Visit to Tour Bordeux region, Bergerac and Dordogne Valley

We were 2 couples who stayed at the property in Saint-Avit-de-Soulège for 6 nights after flying into Bordeaux airport (1 1/2 hour drive to property) from the US . All of our pre-visit communications and directions to the property with Angela were timely and accurate. On site check-in, assistance and orientation from Bob and Evelyn was excellent. The accommodations were better than represented. The kitchen was very well equipped and able to support any of your culinary activities. Bathrooms, showers and bedrooms were modern and comfortable. The out-door grounds are well manicured and beautiful with nice seating areas to enjoy extended views of vineyards and wildlife. The property's setting is very quiet, located off of narrow country roads. This is a rural setting. Grocery stores and gas stations are located within 10 - 15 miles of property. There are several small resturants in the area but we chose to cook in the evenings and not drive these roads in the dark. Property is convenient to Pomeral, St. Emillion, Bergerac, Libourne (45 min.)

A wonderful place to relax, feel at home and enjoy the beauty of the Dordogne and Bordeaux

The house was wonderful and what really made the stay great was how welcoming Evelyn and Bob were. The location is great with access to the many beautiful sites the region had to offer. We visited Lascaux II, Domme, Bergerac and a long bike ride through beautiful terrain ... a bit hilly but we all survived it. We took advantage of Evelyn's menu options and enjoyed a wonderful meal at home. Our original plan was to get to Sarlat but after a lazy morning, it was a bit far. We would strongly recommend Petit Nivelle for a family or 3 couples. There was lots of space to get away and for privacy. Our thanks to Angela, Evelyn and Bob

A fantastic stay at Petit Nivelle

We had the most extraordinary time at Petit Nivelle during our 6-week stay in April and May 2015 when we came with our 3 year old son and 8 month old daughter. We cannot thank Angela, Bob and Evelyn enough for making our stay so enjoyable. The previous reviews are correct: the house is even better in person than in the photos. It is fantastic! There is obviously a lot of pride in the house which is well maintained, and they are always making upgrades. Bob and Evelyn are on site to help with anything but also respect privacy so we always felt we had our own space. The rooms were well appointed and beds very comfortable. The bathrooms were modern with fantastic showers and tubs. The kitchen is just what other have said...so well appointed. We cooked a lot and were never missing a tool, dish, appliance etc. Amazingly, we never ran out of things to do around the house, even with a 3-year old. He loved the "toy house" where he discovered lots of toys and sports equipment (scooters, ride alongs, badminton and tennis, soccer balls, toys for the sandbox). His favourite was the trampoline followed closely by the pool (gated for safety) and swings. The boules court was very fun too. There is also TV, lots of movies and great wifi. Traveling with a baby can be challenging so the baby equipment (crib, highchair, playmat, monitor, bathchair, even baby spoons!) was so appreciated. Outside space is beautiful with great patio for meals, hammock and gardens. The location of the house was great too! There were many different markets and stores within a short drive. We were able to do day trips to many different places including Bordeaux, St. Emilion, Bergerac and the castles of the Perigord region. There are also great restaurants within reach as well - L'Ardoise in Pessac sur Dordogne was a favourite. Needless to say, we highly recommend Petit Nivelle! Great for both adults and kids. Such a beautiful spot and we will always remember that beautiful view, across the vineyards and rolling hills.
