The website said 5 people overnight which we never had but my daughter and her family live locally and they could not come over for a day visit because we would exceed the 5 person day limit I asked the if we could and she updated the website to say no more than 5 people on the property which we followed we felt she really does not want kids at all on the property. The basement bedroom was always damp with dehumidifier running and had to be emptied daily. The lake is just nice but the place was very rustic.

Mark, Thank you for your review. The listing states that there are 5 people allowed on the property day and evening. That policy is to protect the septic system and comply with local regulations for guests that follow your family. I would never want to disappoint any guest or disrupt their vacation. I did not update or change anything on the site, this policy has been in place for 10 plus years. I am sorry if it wasn’t clear on the listing or if you missed it in the description. The cottage is rustic and that is what many guests enjoy! I does have all the conveniences of a modern home such as WiFi and AC. It seemed as if you and your family enjoyed the relaxation and the lake itself. I adore kids at the cottage!! Best, Leslie

Cozy, clean cabin with amazing views of the lake. Wonderful patio and lakeside seating. A great place to spend time during the summer or fall to see the New Hampshire fall foliage. Also, the host was a pleasure to deal with. We really enjoyed our stay.

Property was clean and cozy and the kitchen was well stocked. The views of the lake were excellent. Able to take long walks of along the water and enjoyed listening to the loons. The lake water is crystal clear and excellent for swimming.

Merrymeeting Lake

We loved our stay at Leslie's cottage. The beds are comfy, the towels are thick, the kitchen is adequate and the lake is perfection. We enjoyed kayaking and swimming and hiking in the area.

Great place on the lake.

The property is very nice. Everyday The lake showed a different character... Always interesting.. The cottage is well equipped and Very comfortable! Beautiful area!

Great cottage on Merrymeeting Lake

This was a perfect place form which to enjoy Merrymeeting Lake and the surrounding area. Kayaks were included with the rental and there was a good dock to launch from as well as easy swimming access. If we come back to the area, this is where we will stay!

Mountain and Lakefront views

We enjoyed a week of relaxation, amazing views, sunrises and sunsets and watching and listening to the loons. It was also a nice spot to go for walks. We hope to return.

Peaceful getaway

Relaxing time at the lake!

This was a nice and relaxing week on the lake. The weather was perfect which helped. We swam, kayaked and fished. The lake is so clean and beautiful.

Fun week on the lake

The owner was fantastic! The house is rustic and could use a little TLC but the location can’t be beat! We had a really fun, quiet week. Looking forward to next year!

July 4th Getaway

We had a nice time spending the fourth together. Leslie was a lovely host. The weather was better near the end of our stay, but got a lot of card playing in.

Great stay at beautiful lake Merrymeeting.

Rustic cottage with direct waterfront on beautiful Merrymeeting Lake. The lake is crystal clear and we went swimming or kayaking everyday. The interior was simple and comfortable with great views. This is an ideal rental for a person/couple/family looking to reconnect with nature and each other.

Peaceful getaway

We had a wonderful stay at the lake despite a few days of rain. The view is spectacular even on a cloudy day, the beds and couches are comfy, the kitchen is sufficiently stocked with basic necessities and communication with the owner was easy. We hope to return in the future, thank you for sharing your lovely space with us!

Relaxing at the Lake

The house is located right on the water and the lake itself is beautiful and clear. The house is small but comfortable with what you need to have a relaxing week. It was a little musty at first but that went away within a day. Leslie was super nice and very helpful with advice on things to do and places to eat, etc. We would definitely go back. The whole area was just beautiful.

Mark, thanks for your review. The summer is sometimes very humid especially in mid July when you rented and the home can buildup humidity. I have installed a dehumidifier to keep the air fresh. Perhaps a past renter turned it off when they departed. Anyway, it was wonderful to host you again this year! And I am glad you enjoyed you time at the lake! Best, Leslie

Relaxing lake house

This cottage is on a beautiful lake! It has incredible views of the lake from almost every room. We kayaked and fished each day. When it rained, we still enjoyed the view while playing card and board games. We saw the most incredible rainbow coming right off the lake! We would definitely return to this location for a relaxing vacation.

Beautiful Lakehouse stay.

Unfortunately we picked a week with terrible weather. But the house was just as we expected, it was wonderful and we had a fantastic time. The homeowner, Leslie, had the house well supplied with everything you could need. Bedroom comfortable house was clean .

The perfect place on a beautiful lake

My sisters and I surprised our mother for her 80th birthday for a getaway weekend on the lake. The lake itself was pristine and peaceful. The cottage was both clean and cozy offering all the basic amenities and more. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake, relaxing on the porch or dock while taking in the beautiful and scenic views. Leslie the owner was wonderful and easy to work with. We are so happy we discovered this hidden gem and hope to return for a future stay!
