Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

There is nothing quite like a blue ribbon trout river just outside your front door. The cabin is positioned along the west side of the Yellowstone River. This is a great place to stay when touring Yellowstone National Park. The Gardiner North Entrance (4 miles away) is the only year round entry into the most visited National Park in the United States.

Within a ten minute drive you will arrive in Mammoth Hot Springs and see for yourself all the wonders Yellowstone Park has to offer.

The cabin features a full kitchen with all dishes and utensils provided. Both Master Suites have 1 queen and 1 oversized full bed, also each suite has its own full bath. Just outside the spacious patio you will find a large fire pit with plenty of seating for all your friends and family. You will love the stunning views and relaxing atmosphere we have to offer.

About Marty Haskins

My name is Marty Haskins. In the picture is my father-in-law Frank Kroll. We purchased the cabin in November of 2005 along with my wife Kelly and Frank's wife Debbie. We bought the property thinking of how great it would be to have a 'getaway' that is riverfront, park-front, and forest service-front. We have been blessed to find out the demand for housing near Yellowstone Park. We only thought we would rent out about 6 weeks a year and now are renting the whole summer. We spend a lot of time at the cabin in the spring and fall. The picture you see is the fire pit about 10 yards from our back door. As you can see I like a big campfire.

Why Marty Haskins chose Yellowstone Country

Gardiner is a very special place in Montana and it just happens to be the only year round entrance into the park. This location is ideal for a vacation in the Park. For me it is ideal for fishing the mighty Yellowstone River. I have been vacationing in Yellowstone since I was a young boy. I grew up in rural North Dakota and had an Aunt and Uncle who lived in Billings, MT. They had two boys my age so my brother and I would come to Montana in the summer for two weeks and they would take us to the Park. Thanks to my Aunt and Uncle I now live in Bozeman, I met my beautiful wife in Billings and I now own a cabin bordering Yellowstone Park.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is surrounded by National Park Land, Forest Service Land, and the Yellowstone River. Best of all it is only 300 yards from the park, yet 4 miles from the entrance and the town of Gardiner. You get a secluded base camp from the park that is only minutes away. Our favorite thing to do is sit around the campfire at night while Debbie makes peach cobbler in the dutch oven.

Excellent lodging and owners!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week at this cabin and found it to be perfect. The owners are very nice, communicated quickly and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The two rooms are great, each with it's own bathroom, so there was plenty of privacy for two couples. It is well-stocked with absolutely anything you would find in your home and the location is beautiful on the river. We had elk and deer right outside our window every day. It's 5 minutes to the park entrance so it has the perfect combination of quiet location and access to the park or town. We also found Gardiner much less "touristy" than the West entrance area. We will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it!

Peaceful and comfortable place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. After a day in the park with all the crowds, it was great to have a place to relax with the sounds and beauty of the river and to be able to view the elk and pronghorn antelope in the area was amazing. Would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from the crowds

Neat place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the location (except for the gravel road leading down to Yellowstone) - right by the river, beautiful area, elk wandering around by the cabins and the river! Great cabin - our kids loved the bunk beds, was so nice to have a washer/dryer for laundry, fire pit in the back yard... Would stay here again.

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

This was great for our family of 6. We had all of the kids in the bunk room and parents in the other bedroom. Having two en suite bathrooms was a nice bonus. We had mule deer outside the back door every day and our kids were enthralled.

This doesn't change my opinion in any way, and I've recommended this property to a friend already, but be advised (mainly for us city slickers): 4 miles to the North Gate is 4 miles on a bumpy gravel road. So budget about 15 minutes to get there.

Perfect cabin & location for Yellowstone visit

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was just perfect for us. Beautiful view by the Yellowstone river. We found ourselves so relaxed sitting on back patio - like sitting at the beach, just something very relaxing. The cabin had everything we needed and Marty was great to deal with. We spent 4 days in Yellowstone and this location was very convenient. We even did some great shopping in Gardiner. Thanks for sharing!!
