Beautiful 5 Bedroom / 2 Bathroom home on the sunset side of Black Lake, just outside of Onaway, Michigan. Minutes away from Black Lake UAW golfcourse, and adjacent to Onaway State Park. 1/4 mile from 211 Bar and Grille. 100 feet of private sandy beach frontage out your backdoor! Private stone firepit in the sand. soft shallow (less than 3 feet of water ) sandbar goes for about 300 yards directly out behind house.
We are available in the Fall for your hunting excursions,with access to thousands of acres of state land within 5 minutes of the property!!

We are centrally located near the Michigan snowmobile trail system! Come stay with us in winter! we have trail access on the north side of the lake @ The Bluffs, and 5 miles to the south in Onaway.

*Please specify at booking if you plan to purchase damage insurance through VRBO for $99.00 in lieu of a $1000.00 security deposit.

Weekend Getaway

The house was very nice with a great kitchen, lots of bedrooms, and beautiful views of the lake and sunsets. The beach was great, too. We had relatives staying a few doors down, so this was a perfect location for us to spend time with them!

Relaxed Family Weekend

Our family of 3 couples,1 baby and 3 dogs enjoyed beach time, yard games and cooking together in this spacious home. The homes are close together, but the neighborhood and lake were surprisingly quiet.

Very nice property. The accommodations were just what our family.of.ten required.

The owner and property manager were very gracious. Although I gave it five stars I would like to suggest that air conditioning and WiFi would be a improvement. And the cottage could be cleaner. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a great cottage vacation

Blake Lake

House was perfect! There were 10 of us and we all fit comfortably! It was clean and had everything we needed. The weather could have been better but you can’t choose that! The property manager was very nice and helpful! I would recommend this place to friends and we’re very much considering it for next years trip!

Great Stay

The property manager was the absolute sweetest lady. Really made checking in seem less. The lake house is wonderful! As a family with 3 boys, the lake being steps from the back porch was perfect. The sandy bottom lake was where almost all our time was spent. I’ve never walked so far into a lake where the water wasn’t even to my shoulders. So cool! The fire pit was awesome, all the kitchen utensils were helpful. Truly a lovely place to relax. The deck furniture was comfortable and the stars light up the night. 50 minutes from the bridge and 15 minutes from Ocqueoc Falls. We had a very enjoyable vacation and 3 very tired kids after spending 10-12 hours in the lake each day. Thank you!

Black Lake

Enjoyed the Lake. Enjoyed our stay. However Cooking utensils were not clean, Pots and pans had food residue, which we had to wash all before using. Propane grill was dirty and was falling apart. Fire pit had cans in the pit. Vacuum did not work, it was completely plugged up through out the filter and hoses. We had to take it apart and clean it before we could use it. I appears that it had been this way for quite a while as it took us about 30 minutes to fix. Going upstairs the steps are quite noisy. But overall we had a very good time as a Family

Black Lake

Overall a great stay. Owner was very communicative, accommodating, and helpful. You can’t beat the beach here with three nine year olds! It really is hundreds of yards of sandy bottom beach out into the lake. Not good on this end for fishing but great for the kids to splash around and have fun. Fire pit was great, deck was great and gave us stunning sunsets. The house was clean and offered enough space for all ten of us and two refrigerators was a blessing. A few things to consider that prevented the five star rating: WiFi is not great. Bedrooms barely connected if at all. Furniture is a bit rough. Although comfy, I think we are still picking pieces of the delaminating chair off of our clothes. Mattresses may need to be replaced soon. Showers are rough, with very little pressure and the upstairs shower head is very low. Also bring your own measuring cups if needed. There are only two there. These items may be picky, but just some feedback to make it even better. Thanks for a great memory!

Family Vacation

Liked how 4 bedrooms were away from the living room with children. Really like the sandbar with young kids. I would say the only down fall is showers having a lower water pressure. The first couple feet walking into the lake has allot of debris from being in east side of the lake but after that really nice sand. Beautiful sunsets, nice people in the area. Would stay there again!

Great stay

The owner of the property met us there to let us in and was so very helpful and nice. The house itself was great and lots of beds and plenty of room and very clean. The yard was big and had a great beach area. The lake was clean and huge. All around great stay. Only downfall was check out time. It was 9am and wished it could’ve been a little later. Highly recommended

Perfect beach trip

This house was perfect for families , plenty of room for everyone and fully stocked kitchen. House is right on the beach with a dock and full of a nice sandy area for kids to play. Nice fire pit on the beach too. Lots of amenities for kids like a baby gate, crib and baby bath.

Awesome beach and house

We had a group of 10 adults looking to get away for the weekend and had an amazing time. The house is very clean and has everything you need for a larger group. The beach is so nice, sandy, no weeds, and beautiful view. Due to the proximity of the neighbors I would recommend this for a family vacation spot not for a loud group (like us).

Wonderful!

We had an absolutely wonderful time on Black Lake. The house was perfect for our family, the neighborhood was incredibly friendly, the location could not have been beaten, and the host was amazing. Would 100% return and would definitely recommend for families!

Outstanding Family Vacation

We had an absolutely amazing time at this well-equipped house with a phenomenal view. My family (2 and 4 yr old), along with our close family friends and their two kids (2 and 4 yr old) couldn’t have asked for a better time. The water was pure sand and on a sandbar which made the experience for the kids even better. Had a bonfire on the beach each night and watched the sun set. Will definitely plan on making this an annual trip.

Perfect for kids!!!!

Perfect for our family. The door going to the upstairs (w/door) was perfect for sleeping kids (ages 1, 10, and 12) while adults could hang out! Main level king size was perfect for grandparents! The water was amazing! Shallow and sandy as far as the eye could see. Kids were 10/12 and hardly had to worry!!! Toddler liked splashing in the ankle deep water and sandy bottom. No complaints!

Fantastic Up North Escape

Black lake is REALLY big. I might be the last one to realize this but it was a great surprise for our group of nine grandparents down to teenage grandkids. This property was perfect for us and while the kids would vehemently deny it, the lack of solid internet made it all the better. We want to repeat this vacation again next year. Could not recommend it more.

Property Manager was outstanding. The sandbar and sunsets are as amazing as they look to be, just the oasis we needed! Property was well appointed and clean.

Nice place to enjoy our great Up North of Michigan.

The house is very roomy and clean. The yard and beach is a great place to spread out and have fun! We enjoyed our week! It is also a great location to ride four wheelers & such. It can get windy and choppy on this side of the lake for boating. But you can’t control Mother Nature. We had a mix of windy and calm days. We made good memories!!

Perfect family getaway!

This property was perfect for our big family vacation! The house was spacious and clean. It was equipped with all of the household essentials. The beach was perfect and the lake provided perfect swimming conditions in a quiet environment. The property manager was very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this property if you are looking for a classic Pure Michigan getaway!

Nice Place

The house was outfitted with everything we needed for a group of ten including towels, cooking utensils, blankets, pretty much everything! The sandbar extending from the back of the place was a great place for little kids to swim, but there was a slight issue with jet ski traffic close to the beach. Owners were very accommodating and the property manager was a delight. We'd definitely book again if we find ourselves in the area.

Black Lake Cottage

Place the spacious with plenty of room. Awesome backyard for activities and a beach to chill. A 400 yard long sandbar off the dock was nice bonus. Perfect sunsets.
