Completely renovated in early 2017, the Grange des Montades is the ideal place for a family vacation, with accommodation capacity for 4 adults and up to 5 children. Halfway between Sarlat, Rocamadour and Gourdon, it allows you to enjoy the calm of the countryside and the many activities in the surrounding area.

Nature lovers will enjoy the charm of an unspoiled setting, surrounded by fields and on the edge of a wood.

Lovers of active holidays will appreciate the proximity to the beaches and nautical bases of the Dordogne, as well as the many hiking or horse riding trails.

As for lovers of culture and heritage, they can visit the many picturesque sites of Quercy and Périgord (Rocamadour, Martel, La Roque Gageac, Domme and Sarlat) and enjoy the many cultural events in the region.

Description:
On the ground floor, the 75m2 living space, with natural stone floors, includes a fully equipped open kitchen, a dining room, a TV lounge with wood stove and a bathroom with WC.

Large glass doors open onto a large terrace with a pergola, facing south for a drink or meals by the pool.

The solid wooden staircase leads to the 2nd floor with mezzanine which serves:
- 1 very spacious bathroom with corner bath, 2 sinks and 1 toilet
- 2 bedrooms with double bed
- 1 large bedroom for up to 5 children
- 1 play / relaxation area, with a sofa, TV + DVD player, books and board games

At the back of the house, a bowling green allows you to play in a shaded area in the middle of the oaks.

A charming and welcoming house with pool

We had a wonderful time staying in this delightful house set in rural France. We felt the pictures didn’t do it justice. The pool was crystal clear and very welcoming at the end of a hot day sightseeing. Lots of suggestions for places to visit and our host was very helpful.

Excellent stay in Les Grange Des Montades

We really enjoyed our 2 weeks in Les Grange. Everything was provided to ensure a comfortable stay. The pool was beautiful and we enjoyed lazing around it soaking up the sun and listening to the elusive woodpeckers. Just a thought it would have been good to have had a set of boules for the petanc court. David was very proactive in communicating with us. Many thanks.

Fajoles July 2023

Very nice and calm, everything was clean upon arrival. Pool could be cleaned more often. Environment is not as on photo (trees to the left of the house are all gone), no idea what will come/be build next to the house. Apart from that minor point, airco’s would be a good added value. Very nice owner and very correct, always available for help. Overall we had a fantastic holiday, lots of things to do and visit in the area.

Location d'exception

Magnifique maison, pleine de charme, très calme et exposée plein sud. On profite idéalement de la terrasse et de la piscine au pied de celle ci. Grand terrain à l'arrière avec en prime le terrain de pétanque. Rien ne manque (à l'exception d'équipements pour enfants en bas âge) pour passer un super séjour. David, bien qu'à distance, s'est montré disponible et a répondu à toutes nos demandes. Nous y reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Super séjour !

Très jolie maison, bien décorée, bien agencée, bien équipée, bref, tout pour plaire car en plus sa localisation permet de nombreuses visites de sites, grottes, chateaux etc... Son calme et sa situation à l'abri des regards offre un séjour des plus reposants. Nous comptons bien y retourner !

Un très beau séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette magnifique propriété! La demeure est superbement restaurée, les équipements sont nombreux et parfaits, les chambres comfortables! Nous avons bien profité de la magnifique terrasse, du jardin, des transats et de la grande piscine ! La region est magnifique et l’accès aux grottes (Cougnac, Gouffre de Padirac et Lascaux), villages (Rocamadour, Sarlat) est facile! Les activités ne manquent pas (vélo sur la voie verte, canoë sur la Dordogne, accrobranche, parc préhistorique,….). L’hôte avait vraiment bien préparé la maison et a communiqué avec nous pour rendre notre séjour très agréable ! Merci pour tout!!!

Très jolie grange rénovée située dans un endroit calme et reposant

Maison très agréable, bien équipée et située dans un endroit calme et reposant. Les indications de David pour trouver la maison sont impeccables. Piscine tout à fait satisfaisante, les enfants s'y sont éclatés! Un bémol toutefois concernant la bâche thermique de protection qui est à remplacer. Autre bémol : la propreté de la douche et des éléments de cuisine. A part ça, nous y avons passé un très agréable séjour :)

Charmante maison en pleine nature

Tres belle maison en plein nature pour amateur de grand calme. La maison est isolée (ce que nous recherchions), bénéficie d'un grand jardin. Piscine au sel agréable mais non chauffée. Attention aux jeunes enfants car pas de barrière. Nos filles ont l'habitude donc pas de souci mais à bien prendre en considération le cas échéant. Nous n'avons pas eu de chance avec le temps (pluie), nous n'avons donc pas pu profiter beaucoup de la piscine. Mais quand il fait beau, elle doit être top ! Des chevaux non loin dans une prairie et une petite place de village typique pour les promenades du soir. Petit marché sympa le dimanche matin. Sinon, tous les magasins, pharmacies etc sont à environ 10 min en voiture. Tres belle région avec de très beaux sites. Maison bien équipée (cuisine, salle de bains, jeux etc) et conforme à la description en tout point. Le wifi n'est pas hyper performant mais cela nous convenait très bien. Le propriétaire est très réactif si vs avez la moindre question. Dommage que nous avons eu du mauvais temps, qui était malheureusement généralisé sur une grande partie de la France cette semaine là. Nous reviendrons certainement mais cette fois avec le soleil j'espère.

Superbe emplacement pour cette auberge tout équipée a 30 min de tous les sites touristiques de la région. Au calme et isolé cette location est idéale pour se reposer et se déconnecter de la vie active. Nous avons passé un superbe séjour. Nous reviendrons et recommanderons cette maison.

A retenir

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la maison, tant par la décoration que par l'aménagement, un astucieux mélange d'ancien et de moderne, quel charme!! Les équipements sont de bonne qualité. La piscine a enchanté les petits et les grands en cette période bien chaude. Le lieu est calme et isolé, tout ce que nous souhaitions. De nombreux brochures et guides sont à la disposition des vacanciers, ce qui permet d'organiser au mieux le séjour. David nous a conseillé le marché de producteurs du dimanche matin. Quelle bonne idée!! Nous nous sommes régalés avec les produits locaux. Deux petits bémols à ce très très agréable séjour : La présence de guêpes et de frelons(c'est la campagne me direz-vous) La literie qui, selon nous, aurait besoin d'être changée. Malgré cela, nous restons ravis de nos vacances dans le Lot.

Très jolie maison, tout confort, très bien située pour de multiples visites (Rocamadour,Sarlat......). Le soir, le chant des oiseaux et des cigales.... La nature , le calme, très reposant. Bref, nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans une magnifique région.

Quiet, Private and Very Comfortable Old Barn

This is possibly the best Holiday Home that we have stayed in, in France. The owners have done a great job of providing a quality Barn conversion with pretty much everything that you could require for a break in Lot or near the Dordogne. It's in a great location, very private, no near neighbours and away from any busy roads. It's very rural so a car is essential. Fajoles is well located for visiting the Dordogne valley or venturing into Lot and its numerous towns and villages. The Barn is about 25 mins from the motorway so is easily accessible. The property is set against a backdrop of woodland, so there is quite a lot of insect life around but nothing problematic. We didn't see any Mosquitoes during our stay which is a real bonus. You are 20 mins from the nearest supermarket so a bit of food planning is essential, unfortunately most of the local boulangeries have closed so fresh bread is 15 mins away. (Good one in St Julien De Lampon). Good market in Souillac on Fridays, tiny local market in Fajoles on a Sunday for local Organic veg and produce. Very good restaurant in Milhac - worth looking for and needs booking for peak days - its at the Deli. Really good food and sensibly priced. We do a lot of cycling and the immediate area around Fajoles provides a lot of great routes for bikes avoiding major roads and tourist spots, the gradients are not as severe as locations further East like Rocamadour. The House is very comfortable, and we think ideally suited to a family with up up to 6 members, the bedrooms are a bit small and more than 6 could feel a little overcrowded. The pool is very good, well maintained and the water quality was great, crystal clear throughout our stay. Barn facilities met all our needs, from a small BBQ through to brand new sunloungers (4), Boules court (with Boules) and enough chairs to seat 8 for outside meals, although the main outside dining table is better suited to a max of 6. Satellite TV is only free to air channels offering the basics. Likewise there is Broadband but its through a 4G connection so can be a bit slow, no streaming of any sort possible, will just about load web pages and email so don't expect 6 people to be able to be on Facebook or Netflix, it will not do it (who'd want to anyway!!) In summary - a top quality, private home that would suit 6 people really well. Well appointed, great location, well maintained, very comfortable. If the owners ever wanted to sell, it would be one to buy!!

Agréable, spacieuse et calme

Une très agréable location, spacieuse, décorée avec sobriété et bon goût. Avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour avec enfants au rythme de visites proches (45 mn de route maxi) : Gourdon, Sarlat, Rocamadour (mention spéciale au spectacle équestre très drôle), Grottes de Cougnac, Domme... Sans oublier le château des Milandes (celui de Joséphine Baker, dont nous avons eu un grand plaisir à découvrir la vie... très dense !) avec son spectacle de rapaces... La location est très bien équipée, et la piscine au sel très agréable. Aux heures perdues : pétanque à l'arrière de la maison !
