What a great cottage!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I went to Lakeland, FL to experience a portion of the Detroit Tigers spring training. This cottage afforded us a tremendous location from which to do just that. Located in Lakeland's Historic District, it is approximately 2.5 miles from Tigertown. It is also a couple of blocks from Morton Lake and its beautiful swans. When my wife didn't go to the ballpark with me, she enjoyed the solitude by lake as well as viewing the beautiful homes in the area. Having ties to Spring Green, WI, she greatly enjoyed touring the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings on the campus of Florida Southern College, also within walking distance from the cottage. The cottage itself, is very clean and well maintained, as well as stocked with all necessities of home. Karen and David were very hospitable and a delight to work work. Should we decide to attend another spring training, we will not hesitate to book this property again. Vince F.

Sweet little cottage in a beautiful residential neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter, 15 mo. old granddaughter and I so enjoyed our stay in the Lake Morton cottage! It's beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. The property owner, Karen, was very thoughtful (snacks and drinks in the fridge, coffee, tea and creamer for the coffee maker, and other much appreciated extras! ) and accommodating (flexible with check in and out times to accommodate baby's out of whack nap schedule). We enjoyed the swans and other birds at Lake Morton just down the street, and the children's museum in historic downtown Lakeland-a five minute drive away. We plan to return to this area and would love to stay in the Lake Morton cottage!

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

I cannot begin to describe how amazing this cottage is. It is quaint, cozy, yet modern. It was fully stocked and well appointed. The location also was very central and we were close to everything. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage.

Charming cottage in fabulous neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We came to Lakeland in early March to catch a couple of Detroit Tiger spring training games. What we found was a charming cottage in the Lake Morton district of Lakeland. While there we were able to attend the local house and garden tour. The housing in this area was mostly built between 1900 and 1930. It is going through a process of gentrification. It is a walking neighborhood with a number of good restaurants close by, a very good local art museum, a beautiful local college campus and several lakes. The locals we met were friendly and welcoming to outside visitors.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, quiet and well appointed. You could easily cook a full dinner in the kitchen, although we chose to eat out while on vacation. There is a pullout futon that doubles as a couch. While possible, having more than two people staying here would seem a bit cramped to us.

Karen the owner was very communicative and was kind enough to leave us a Detroit Tigers baseball cap. We would definitely recommend this cottage to a friend and hopefully will be back next year.

Classic Cottage

  • 5 of 5

If we could give this cottage TEN stars, believe me, we would. Absolutely stunning place! Filled with wonderful amenities. Drinks in the refrigerator, coffee, tea, and too many items to mention, all provided. Beautiful well-thought out design. Peaceful neighborhood, short walk to a tranquil lake. We have stayed in many places, from New Orleans, to Tybee Island. This one was the best! Karen, thank you! We just want to stay and live here! We will definitely be back!
