Ask a questionAbout Luca
Luca Savelli is the owner of the large Tenuta di Monteverdi, a family estate bought in 1912 by his grandfather, who turned it from a backwater into a national model-estate for farming. Based in London, Luca visits the estate on a monthly basis spending longer periods there in the summer, though otherwise works as an archaeologist, primarily in Ethiopia and Italy.
Why Luca chose Civitella Paganico
The property is newly renovated (2017) but very much in keeping with both the Renaissance era estate it is on, and also with the style and standard that people expect when staying in Tuscany: in addition, it has lovely views and is very quiet. While the 100m2 apartment is traditional, it was renovated in 2017 with all the comforts one would expect: fully fitted and equipped kitchen, sitting/dining areas, comfortable beds and bed linen, bathroom with shower, clean energy pellet stove, efficient hot water supply, Wifi, TV/DVD, secure etc. The surrounding land, which is a large estate of historical interest with stunning views, is a working estate and has woodland, farmland, olive groves and vineyards, producing a variety of produce (including olive oil which we sell). The location, in the middle of the Maremma, is exceptional, with easy access to many famous cities, including: Siena, Montalcino, Pienza, Montelpulciano, Arezzo, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Chianti, and even Rome, while the miles of beaches are within easy short drives. Added to this are numerous activities: walks, riding, national parks, skiing (in winter), natural sulphur baths, golf, polo, tennis and much more, not to mention the fantastic and inexpensive cuisine!
What makes this Apartment unique
The benefit of this property is so that it can be used as a very convenient base to explore Tuscany, its coast, culture and cuisine. We believe that the prices are good value in compared to the competition, and we also have many years experience in rentals on our family estate. Lastly, we have a large staff on the estate and so we can make your visit enjoyable as possible. Upon booking, we offer a booklet with advice and information.
